  1. Discretion and mutual respect/courtesy are key. As I mentioned in the thread for this week's gathering, all are welcome, but if you cause trouble you will be ostracized. Posted via Mobile Device
  2. Don't discredit the Blue Samurai yet! Japan's still go plenty of fight left in them. But yes, Ghana and Japan have little realistic hope of making it to the final four. But you have to admit, they've got style! Posted via Mobile Device
  3. Personally, if someone looks *really* young - as was the case a few years back in BC - I ask for ID. Any age under 18 and it's a no-go. Thankfully it was only the once. To my knowledge that was the only virgin I've had, but I have seen several inexperienced guys. One guy I met a few months back in Ottawa stands out in my mind - he was fun! :-) Posted via Mobile Device
  4. I don't know how many times I've had guys detect my annoyance over the phone (which I honestly don't attempt to conceal) and they think that my annoyance surely is from another source. It can't be them annoying me. Asking for more photos, and services not offered, and discounts, and other questions that they would know the answer to if they read more than my phone number on my webpage. Nah, that would never annoy me. Carrie: you're freakin' nuts! (In a good way) :-D Posted via Mobile Device
  5. NO!!! My brothers used to do that to me!! You're awesome, Carrie :-) Posted via Mobile Device
  6. Okay, maybe not too far down memory lane, but Tori Amos. I can't believe I almost forgot about her! Posted via Mobile Device
  7. It's not the nice guys we are trying to make feel unwelcome, it's the creeps and time-wasters we're trying to make feel unwelcome. Not to sound trite, but I think a lot of guys seem to think that if they have enough money a lady will see them. There is more to it than money. A prospective client who has proven himself to be someone who is rude, lazy (not reading everything before asking dumb questions), or annoying is usually not a client ladies enjoy seeing. Consider it part of the screening process. And if this proves to be a turn-off for you, so be it. I'd rather turn off a few guys than have a headache day-in and day-out. Posted via Mobile Device
  8. And here I was thinking I was the only Ghana fan on the continent! They are a good team. Posted via Mobile Device
  9. It's what we all knew would happen, but ya never know for sure. I almost feel bad for the Netherlands having to face the titans of the sport. Ditto Ghana facing Argentina. The giants aren't invincible, but they're damned close! Posted via Mobile Device
  10. Chile is doing well, but it's Brazil they're up against. Mind you, it has been a year of upsets.... hell of a match so far, though! Posted via Mobile Device
  11. There is nothing sexier than a beautiful woman in glasses. I'm thinking of getting nice frames with fake lenses for that naughty librarian look :-) Posted via Mobile Device
  12. Google is a wonderful thing ;-) Posted via Mobile Device
  13. Hey everyone, just a reminder that we're going for some drinks at The Honest Lawyer in the Byward Market this Weds around 5ish. Some will be there earlier, some will pop by later. Everyone is welcome provided you don't make trouble. How do you know which table is ours? Well we'll probably be the most diverse looking group, and we'll likely be the ones having the most fun. But just in case, have a Metro paper in your hand and that will be our way of finding each other. So come on by, have a drink, share a laugh, and meet some fellow Cerbites. Please leave your ego, drama, and negativity at home. See y'all there! Posted via Mobile Device
  14. Ditto Brazil / Netherlands. I'm pulling for Brazil and Germany. But who knows, these are two matches that truly are evenly matched overall. Posted via Mobile Device
  15. For on-field issues yes, get the officials working more, but I still think (and I am a long shot from alone on this) that Fifa needs to use replays for goal-line issues. But they don't because it's technology and they are determined to keep the game traditional. Which is bollocks because every other sport is still traditional and has a heap of cameras. They don't even need to add cameras - the intense media coverage is plenty. Just have a little tv with a little control panel to control replays and an official parked in front of it to review offsides, dives, and iffy goals. A whopping 10 - 20 seconds delay to have a lot less controversy. Posted via Mobile Device
  16. There was no doubt of the German attack - especially with Urzil and his breakaways. And yes errors do happen. But there is no excuse for Fifa's lack of technology - especially when some referees and linesmen make painfully obvious errors in judgement. Why an offside wasn't called, for example. The linesman has to shoulder responsibility for that. Some errors are harder to spot, like the Lampard goal, but still should be reviewed. It takes 10 seconds to watch a replay (often seen on the screens in the stadium). Fifa is running out of viable excuses for not utilizing technology that will ensure the fair play they pride themselves on. Posted via Mobile Device
  17. If it wasn't for that bullshit offside goal, the Mexicans wouldn't have been so disheartened, and I think they would have brought more of a fight. There's no denying Mexico was dominating out of the gate, but a bogus call can really take its toll on a team's emotional state. A similar story with Germany vs England. Though unlike the Argentina/Mexico match, we all knew who was going to win. But it still made the English team flustered and disorganized on the pitch. Posted via Mobile Device
  18. I have it plainly written that my schedule is subject to change and that pre-booking is recommended. If someone cannot fathom that we are busy enough that don't hold times without someone booking them, that's their issue to deal with. You may wish to add to your replies that to ensure the time/day desired pre-booking is best. Sabrina: LOL. No-nonsense is the way to go!! And I believe it is wrong to attempt to coerce a lady into working later just for him. We've got lives that extend beyond our working lives. Some guys either cannot or do not understand that. 19. Germany will win for sure. But not by a lot, I think there'll be some good back-and-forth. But England just doesn't have it in them this year. My money is definitely on Argentina. Didn't Vela get two yellow cards? For some reason I had it in my head he was sitting this one out. Hard to keep track with so many card-happy referees in past games. Posted via Mobile Device
  20. I think this is almost certainly the end of Ghana's run. Uruguay aren't unbeatable, but I do think Ghana will fail to defeat them (it's gonna be close, though. A real nail-biter). But they (Ghana) have been a favorite of mine since their head-turning debut in Germany, and I am happy to see they are steadily improving their international play. As for Uruguay, they were one of my picks to win this year. But it's been an unpredictable run so far so who knows what kind of upsets are in store... Posted via Mobile Device
  21. WOO!!! Go Ghana! Poor buggers are facing Uruguay in the final 8. That's gonna be a game to watch! Posted via Mobile Device
  22. Special needs. Eventually I want to work solely with Down Syndrome but I'll have to start where everyone does - geriatric/hospice care. Posted via Mobile Device
  23. Vengar, water, baking soda and lemon juice (in any combination) really will clean anything. Without the nasty chemicals of commercial cleaners. And you shouldn't leave anything greasy on stone because it's porous and will suck up oils. Different stones have different density, of course. But your friend is right, keep the grease off the counter! And try a more natural cleaner like vinegar and water to give it a natural gloss without having trace amounts of chemicals seep into your counters. Posted via Mobile Device
