  1. I respectfully disagree here. A congressional hearing looked into the matter. Power companies (including Enron) had colluded to keep the supply low to artificially increase rates. Here is some evidence of two Enron traders laughing about the whole matter, it's quite the conversation. Here's the relevant section in the movie "The Smartest Guys in The Room": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GuGCF0VEGRs&feature=related It's outrageous!
  2. Are you talking about quitting processed sugar that you find in chocolate or also the sugar you find in fruit? Also, have you tried the sugar-free chocolate? I would not recommend it, it gives you flatulence. Is there really a difference to getting the shot as opposed to Jamieson B12 strip you put on your tongue?
  3. I have noticed a difference with daily drops of vitamin D3. It is quite amazing. February and March have not hit the calendar yet and they are typically for me the toughest months of the year, so please take my advice with a grain of salt. Also, I am no Doctor. Stuff that seem to have greatly improved my quality of life are the following: -I stopped drinking fully caffeinated coffee (decaf can taste just as good) -2 * Multi-vitamin (One A Day), -Vitamin B3 -Vitamin B6 (gives you amazing dreams) -Vitamin B12 -PRO DHA -Calcium, Magnesium and Zinc (3 caplets a day) -Vitamin C (1000 mg) -6 cups of water a day -walking the dog in the winter cold. -jogging in a runners club or at your local YMCA (2 to 3 times/week) -I stopped taking life so seriously, even though life is important to me, I don't stress-out anymore. I try to discretely extend love to people I don't know but not at the price of self-sacrifice. -I now do take a week vacation in the winter. Iron deficiency is also a common problem in women. Have yourself checked. Another thing you may consider is to check if you have allergies. Is something you are eating making you tired? Some people have cut out Gluten out of their diet. Lastly, have yourself checked-in a sleep-lab! Ask your family doctor to be referred. An unknown sleep disorder can really wear you down. Sleep-Apnea can go undiagnosed for years and do considerable brain damage. Another tool that seems to help is this: http://www.yumalite.com/ and some women swear by hot yoga. Sex is also a good booster.
  4. For our German Cerbites. Here's a beautiful German hit from 1981 hit translates to "I have love for you." Herbert Grönemeyer -- Ich hab'dich lieb
  5. Being open about a bout of depression that took away 6 years of my life has made me realize that too many of us carry hidden secrets that were so ashamed about, and yet Ironically, make us so human. I can pinpoint the day when I started feeling human again. It was when I accepted the paradoxes of being human. It was a long process. I would highly recommend two books for anybody not feeling human these days because they carry some kind of pain in their lives -Scott Peck: The Road Less Traveled -Brave New World: Aldous Huxley, a wonderful account on how life without any pain is ironically pathological. I also recommend learning another language to get to know lots of friends from different countries. I also recommend Vitamin D3 droplets everyday during the winter season. I can't stress this enough.
  6. This last post reads better than some pornography that is out there. I love it.
  7. N is real good, because it gives you New Kids on the Block -- Which gives you K, a letter which I have been waiting for a long time in this thread. Hint, hint, it's the first letter of Kermit The Frog who sang that rainbow song. I have not had such mindless fun in years...

  9. All parties were pretty much silent on the issue. Jack Layton briefly mentioned it in a local interview. It was never mentioned in the Leader's debate. As far as this issue is concerned, it was like voting in China or Cuba. I respectfully do not agree here. Arguing that you have to arrest over 1000 people to weed out the few criminals is really what a democracy should safeguard against! We can always arrest everybody on my street and we will surely be safe! The overwhelming, overwhelming, majority of those arrested were peaceful protestors. This was clearly a case of the state overstepping it's bounds.

  12. I got nothing against capitalism or a free market economy as long as the rules apply to everybody. -When Nortel executives fuck up and run the company to the ground, they should heed their obligations to former employees who had insurance and a pension, not collect bonuses. -When respected rating agencies give AAA ratings to junk bonds, their CEO's should be fired, not receive bonuses. -When Goldman Sachs fraudulently sells junk derivatives as AAA bonds, they should be prosecuted like any common fraudster, not bailed out by the tax payer. -When Sun Media uses the airwaves to whine about the CBC's federal funding in the name of the taxpayer, they should look at themselves and give back all government subsidies they have received over the years. -Why is it that rich CEO's that failed, get government bail-outs and bonuses, but everyday-people who can't pay their mortgages, are evicted from their homes. -When people line up at Citibank to close their accounts, they should be allowed to do so, not get arrested by authorities. (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2049976/Banks-country-refuse-let-customers-close-accounts-protest.html) -Why is it that Hugh Heffner can legally pay for sex with his Playboy bunnies under the cover of his Playboy mansion, but when I ask to pay, the state government of the same country says it's a crime? It's not capitalism I am against, it's what has become of it.

  20. Don't forget the singing penis! http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=48602e7b49 Additional Comments: Just type penis and funny in google video, and you are in for a treat of shameless bathroom humour. I feel like such a kid: Two guys playing the piano with their penis (oddly enough they're greek) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T_kJFFhN8mo the guy who farted a waltz chat roulette south Park. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4gNyDZmQyeY
  21. I don't like to get caught up in the media frenzy of movies, so I always go see movies nobody else watches. Here is my personal top 6. Project Nim: A monkey caught up in a experiment that made me think what other species tell us about being human. Cell 211: How a prison guard gets caught up in a prison riot on his first day of work and needs to pretend to the other prisoners that he is an inmate. He eventually becomes the biggest threat to the authorities. Really made me think about what it means being a criminal. Really relevant today as our government is trying to get tough on crime. Client 9: Eye opening documentary on the real story behind why Eliot Spitzer was outed as a john. Fair Game: how relentless negative media attention can kill the spirit. Sean Penn is amazing. Beautifull Boy: A family dealing with the grief of their deceased son who shot up a school. An insight into the shame of loving someone who has done evil. Fright Night (the 2011 remake in 3D): Not as good as the original. But it was a guilty pleasure with large popcorn, pop and nifty 3D glasses. I also discovered these movies released in previous years that are so worth seeing over and over again Troll 2: This movie is so unbelievably bad, it's dubbed the worst movie of all time. And yet, for some reason, I could not stop watching. Cloud 9: A love story involving seniors. Crazy teenage love can hit at any age. I want to see the The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters, Scarlett Road and Hysteria. http://www.sbs.com.au/films/movie/12176/Scarlet-Road http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gkEw3mWs86g
