  1. Congratulations, my friend. I hope 2011 was good to you and 2012 will be as well Happy New Year CB
  2. Turn on: a heartfelt smile - and you can tell the real thing. Turn off: passivity. x0x0
  3. The difference between sex and all the other Charter Rights, is it is fundamentally a biological function, hard wired into the brain as a need, just as is hunger. The only difference between sex and eating or peeing, is that it involves, as often as not, another individual. Leaving the latter element aside for the moment, how on earth can anyone conceive (pardon the wording) of enshrining a biological activity in law? From a teleological point of view, the pleasure of sex is almost irrelevant, yet that facet is the driver behind the sex industry. Whether the pleasure appears to come from intimacy, "chemistry" or ejaculation is secondary to the biology. It is the involvement of the other individual which generates the heat. Since the dawn of social communities, for the most part sex has involved some kind of expense - see Foucault or look at the mother in law. I would argue that the concept that sex is somehow "free" exists only as a delusion in Western Society - where we are today. There are bills I can pay today, and those which will be managed only by The Grim Reaper: both have their roles. The problem comes with those unfortunates who have no capital to invest in either approach. Simply renaming it as a Right will not help them. Happy New Year - it comes half an hour earlier here!! CB
  4. We all carry bags. I have an issue with bruises, but as Cat (always a sage observer) points out, that is my problem. It stems from other aspects of my life: I spent a long time encountering bruises in miserable and emotionally charged situations. While quite frankly I don't miss that at all, my old behaviours kick in almost unbidden - it's rather a conditioned response. As to "power exchange" and the elements of bdsm from my admittedly ignorant perspective, I am quite intrigued about discussing it. Sharing interests builds a rapport and connection, something I value in my encounters. As to the more "practical" aspects of the lifestyle, maybe at some point I would "boldly go" where I have not before: that's for the unknown future. Joyeuses fetes, CB
  5. No pain, no gain! I would take the info above though: it sounds helpful and much more use than my frivolous comment! Happy Holidays CB
  6. On a practical note, I would suggest you begin by "blogging to yourself" for a while, i.e. offline. It is a really hard discipline to write everyday or even just regularly every so often. Without that regularity of new entry or content, the blog withers, becoming a somewhat embarrassing monument/"failure" forever lurking in the recesses of the Internet. Just an observation/experience to consider. CB
  7. In your trunk, with my junk? Isn't that a Black Eyed Pea thing?
  8. I would go for three in a flash, as it were. I would want to have as good a year in 2012 as I had in 2011; I want a change after that professionally and I would like the time to plan that too. There are a few people who I would like to meet as well..... CB
  9. i guess I must have a poor imagination - or a lot of luck!. I need nothing and want for nothing: so many toys and so little time to play with them. I don't believe I would make the Naughty List, although not for the reasons Cat gives. I have had a great year and a fantastic Fall. I would like a white Christmas though - and maybe not to have to work over the Holiday. Here's hoping you each get what you would like.. Joyeuses fetes, CB
  10. Have a great time guys and gals. I'll be thinking of the fun I'm missing. Happy Holidays CB x0x0x0
  11. As enlightening I thought, was the link on the side to Letters from Johns page.
  12. One of the not so distant Lieutenant-Governors of NL is called Maxwell House. Another NL community: Gayside, changed its name to Baytona in the 70's; Little Heart's Delight and mustn't forget Dildo Run - nowhere near the other Dildo. We have a Dr. Nurse, a Nurse Head and not to forget the conversation-stopping Oral Head. Yes, my son, we have them all 'ere! CB
  13. Big Bang Theory Ice Pilots Ice Road truckers and apart from the CBC news that's all I get to watch! Have pilots for Hung; Curb your enthusiasm and Bored to Death on iPad for next trip away.
  14. True: I once managed 23h of continuous sleep after a marathon four day weekend awake. T/F: The human mouth contains a wider variety of bacteria than that of a domesticated pig? CB
  15. I like email or PM depending on the lady's preferences. I will send a second note if the first does not get a response. I would regard my notes as accurate and respectful. I did have some issues with my emails getting dumped into someone's spam folder and that is my logic for a second attempt. This approach has failed me on only two occasions when I have not had the courtesy of a reply. Honestly, I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, but in the end it is their loss not mine. I would echo the comments above about the courtesy of getting a response, even if a "no". It's simply good manners. CB
  16. True: but I bet you still look gorgeous! True or false: the average dry weight of a human is less than 45 pounds
  17. Having documented the price penalty for condom use, it would be interesting to speculate on why for a mere 7% gain, workers would opt for an unhealthy practice. I cannot get access to the entire paper so I don't know if the authors drilled down that far (or were able to). For such a marginal yield, I wonder of there are other factors which play into the workers' decision to provide unsafe services? It's good this kind of data is being generated however.
  18. Cato the Younger was quite the orator. You must be related! CB
  19. Ouch! Now that's market variation for you! I am told too the legal issues in some parts of the US colour a lot of how arrangements get made. Mind you, I think Nevada has fairly liberal laws. CB
  20. Sitting with coffee, watching a few snow flakes fall: contemplating a challenging day rounded out by an evening with a friend. CB
  21. I like RG's system and have used it fairly often. The pain at work is I have two systems I use each insisting on a new password every 6 months. One will let me recycle old passwords, while the other will not! Naturally they are out of sync with each other in terms of renewal dates and each only allows three attempts before getting locked out. A friend used a password manager on his iPhone, but for some reason it quit working and now he is locked out of a lot of his apps! It seems a bit counter-intuitive to write them all down in a book somewhere! CB
  22. Someone once described that quote to me as "The Good Journalist's Creed" CB
  23. I have always bee a great fan of the Christmas holiday. I think it a form of nostalgia from the family times growing up as a kid. The decorations in the stores and Christmas muzak are not the start of "real Christmas" for me, rather that time when I settle into trying to get a gift for my now scattered clan. I really know it's Christmas when I sit down and watch the Alec Guinness version of Dicken's Christmas Carol! (You know you're old when......) CB
  24. To tie up two threads: "Give me the child and I will give you the man" Loyola CB
