  1. I might prefer Hell's cuisine given the options!!! CB
  2. Very therapeutic. You ought to kick things which typify the focus of your built up frustrations - not the cat, who did nothing to deserve such ignominy. Such items could be the start of yet another unhijackable thread.... CB
  3. How do I get into a womens' changing room without being arrested? CB
  4. Elevate your foot: it needs to be higher than your butt for most of the day. The cast goes to the knee 'coz the muscle to which the tendon attaches runs up that far and need to be immobilized. Time heals all..... Sorry but it's a question of being a patient patient CB
  5. Any comments of BFax on York for Sundays? CB
  6. (oh, and P.S., did you all know that most women go commando in their lululemon shorts?) No I didn't!! I will now regard such apparel in an entirely new light. Mind you, how do you validate that observation scientifically without being arrested? CB
  7. While I have no desire to emulate our Southern cousins, I would have liked a little more discussion/public awareness of the HUGE importance of a balanced SCC. A young appointee could have 20 years or so there influencing day to day life more than a lot of people realise. CB
  8. Not to mention washing machines on spin cycle! I missed the social too... CB
  9. Of course you must allow Hollywood to re-write the Second World War so no-one else really did much to win it save the Yanks. "Over dressed, over paid and over here" as Granny used to say. Mind you I think Mum liked it.....;-) CB
  10. It would seem fair to have one approach for both sides. Maybe the "Powers that be" would be able to enlighten us. CB
  11. I hope your meeting went well. Each day is another step on the journey and if there is anything we can do to help you, please say so. CB We are stronger together than alone....
  12. A little history tells us who we have become. Like the post and love the avatar. CB
  13. That's a very good point! People with grudges are forever stuck in the past, recycling the slights of often decades ago. Maybe they feel they have so little else that it becomes an anchor or defining feature for them? I bore a grudge for a while from professional issues which are now nearly 20 years old. The upside was time did make it fade for me, but it did so because the new path I chose in response was SO much better than the old rut I had been stuck in. Without that fight I have no idea where I would be now and doing what! The downside was that i fumed and raged at the episode and wasted time and effort so doing. I can see this with hindsight, but it was not so clear at the time. CB
  14. Harry Rosen is in the Rideau. The staff there are excellent and look out for you. It is not cheap but regard it as an investment. They will alter it as needed for the rest of your days. A good suit is like putting on a feeling of affluence and influence. If its done right you won't regret it. I tried the cheap and cheerful and it doesn't work. Le Château is for a younger frame than mine!! CB
  15. "Live in the moment" Accept what is past, acknowledge its lessons, but dwell in the present, for the future never comes. CB
  16. I have had a couple of happy birthdays for your drink - or something like that!! I feel FINE!!!!! CB
  17. Great suggestion! I had forgotten about these really, yet they are a very practical and local donation. Utilisation of them in my part of the world is increasing - to the point where they are regularly stretched to meet demand, especially around the Christmas period. Easy to add a couple of items at each trip to the grocery store. CB -currently from THE city of expensive living!!!!!! :icon_rolleyes:
  18. Hi Megan, Good on you! I chose local if I can unless there is an issue about which I feel very strongly and is better served with a more strategic donation. Some groups are not actually charities under the Act, but appear to be so. The clue is they offer some kind of return, ad space or some kind of calendar with your name on. CRA will not allow these as tax deductions (I just got $500 of "donations disallowed!). Not to say don't give, but just so you know about the true financial implications. Best set a budget, otherwise you can get "10%-ed" out of a lot of cash at the year's end. My favourites are Mental Health and Hearing Impaired, basically because of their relevance to my life. CB
  19. Sorry to hear of your misfortune. I had a cast for several months as a teen - some long while since. I wouldn't be able to shed much light on having sex wearing one as I was a late bloomer! I did lots of shuffling up and down stairs on my bum, wore a garbage bag in the bath and managed to keep the damn thing dry until it came off. Tub baths are easier than showers I think to keep the cast dry. DONT try and scratch the itch which will develop in a few days. You may injure the skin and then have all sorts of problems. Likewise if water gets in, particularly if it's not enough to soften the cast so you notice it damaged. Foot rot is nasty!!! The air cast will be easier - and lighter. Good luck CB
