  1. I... I am addicted to my shoes. Not shoe shopping, mind you. I am addicted to the only two pairs of shoes that I ever wear. Winter boots (sturdy, black, with buckles, perfect for trudging through the ice and snow) Doc martens (perfect for... everything) I have been hemming and hawing over the thought of purchasing sandals for this summer. The Docs do bake my feet... But I find shopping so exhausting! So for now, I am addicted to my two pairs of shoes.
  2. beanstalk." I conceded
  3. Gena's pretty new here, like me. But I like her a lot! She's friendly, smart, likes to play word games, and she taught me something I never knew about bananas. I imagine she would be a lot of fun to hang out with. http://www.cerb.ca/vbulletin/member.php?u=62047
  4. I don't believe the world will end, but regardless, I think December 21st is going to be very interesting and in true schadenfreude form I look forward to seeing how worked up people get about it. Not that I think an apocalypse would necessarily be a bad thing. It would definitely make our last few days on earth very interesting.
  5. 2000! That's a lot of posts in which to demonstrate your wisdom. Here's to the next few thousand!
  6. Peachy, you're fab. This new goddesshood of yours only confirms this fact. Please carry on being fab.
  7. The bananas I bought two weeks ago are still green. These are obviously not trustworthy bananas.
  8. Spontaneous computer death. It's the silliest.
  9. Just a heads up to everyone that it's Star Wars day. May the 4th be with you.
  10. Thank you, everyone. :) I'm really enjoying being a part of this community!
  11. Happy birthday, Emerald. May you have obscene amounts of fun, today and every day!
  12. I just need to give a shout out to all the pho restaurants on Somerset street in Ottawa. They all have similar names (Pho Bo Ga La, Pho Bo Ga King, and of course the two Pho Bo Ga La 2s that are right next to each other), so just pick one and go for it. That is, if you're in the mood for salty beef soup. Which I almost always am. Also, it's not a restaurant, but the Kowloon market at Somerset and Arthur will sell you six spring rolls for a dollar from their bakery section. Craziness!
  13. I bought my first vibrator five years ago- one of the simple, hard plastic, multi-speed ones. It cost me about ten bucks. It still works! (The motor might be starting to die now... but considering how often I've used it I'm pretty impressed that it's lasted this long.) I bought my first glass dildo a few months ago and it's quickly becoming a favourite as well. It's got just enough curve to hit my G-spot in an oh so delightful way, and I happen to really enjoy the sensation of slippery glass. And it doesn't pick up dust like my silicone toys! I definitely agree that it's better to purchase sex toys in person, rather than on-line. The best stores will have a sample out that you can hold, and poke at the buttons to see how it works. Venus Envy in Ottawa is great for that- I'm not sure if there's anywhere else in the city that is as 'user friendly' when it comes to sex toy shopping.
  14. So I woke up early this morning to go to an all-day planning meeting for a volunteer initiative I'm part of. I was all "Grr, why am I doing this, do I even care anymore?" Fast forward one carpool, two cups of coffee and a muffin later: I find myself standing in the sunshine with a ragtag band of fellow volunteers and one very enthusiastic outdoor education professional. And all of a sudden, I remembered why I do this. Welcome back, sense of purpose!
  15. If my being involved in personal sexual relationships impacts my services, then I would say that it has a positive impact- aside from the hit that my availability can take, as Cat mentioned, I find that I learn a lot from my lovers- both about what I like, and about how to please them. Besides, having a really good lover turns me on. A lot. I go about my days bursting at the seams with sexual energy. For me, it's not a finite resource- if anything, the more I share, the more I gain.
  16. It has big letters on it that light up and say 'Lion Tamer'!
  17. Fetch me a shrubbery! (One that looks nice... and not too expensive.)
  18. Well I'll tell you one thing. You'll never catch me at a club! (Okay, not a straight club. I'll go to the gay bar once in a blue moon just to dance.) I like having conversations without having to yell, I like silences, I like privacy, I like getting to know people without being under pressure, and damnit, I like to be the one who decides when and where and with whom I will share my personal space. I would hazard a guess that all the delightfully sexy introverts convene more on the internet than in the club. It's much more spacious here. There is room to talk, to flirt, to step back and breathe, to lurk, to peruse, and yes, to plan encounters suited to the needs of both (or all) parties. And we can play the music we would like to hear, at a volume we can tolerate, while browsing CERB and chatting with sexy strangers. Sounds like a good deal to me!
  19. New friends, old friends. Clouds, rain, familiar music, gentle exhaustion. Open windows, tinned soup, salt water, hard truths, bare feet, and miles to go before I sleep. (Figuratively speaking.)
  20. My first post was about tea and cake. :D But then that wasn't terribly long ago.
