  1. resurfaced, he'd transformed
  2. I woke up early today and ventured forth to meet my therapist. I texted her that I'd be a little late, arrived, and got her text that said "No! I left a message this morning that I was sick!" At that moment my phone indicated to me that I had a message. My ride was unreachable. I know it's not a big deal but man I hate getting stranded. And now I'm tired and sad and I really want someone to pet me, damnit!
  3. Had my wisdom teeth removed, and now I look like a squirrel. O.o On the bright side, I have every excuse to lie around watching bad movies and eat pudding.
  4. The Angel that presided o'er my birth Said, 'Little creature, form'd of Joy and Mirth, 'Go love without the help of any Thing on Earth.' William Blake
  5. Sufjan Stevens- Concerning the UFO Sighting Near Highland, Illinois
  6. I feel obscenely energetic and yet have no real purpose at this juncture. Maybe I'll go serenade the world from my balcony.
  7. When I die, I'd like to die laughing. Edit: Perhaps after being exposed to this!
  8. Even prisoners have rights and basic human dignity. Is it not punishment enough to take away someone's freedom to move in the world as they please? To then take away someone's bodily autonomy, and one of the most basic strategies for self-comfort that we have? That's criminal.
  9. I found an exact photograph of my happy place- and now it's mine, all mine! Hanging on my wall!
  10. Reading the responses to this thread gives me all sorts of warm fuzzy feelings. It's great to see so many thoughtful comments on the nature intelligence, and the things that make someone an interesting companion to spend time with. I dropped out of school when I was 16, to further my unconventional education. Like April Dawn, a lot of people are surprised to hear that about me. We have this cultural notion of a dropout as lazy, unintelligent, and unmotivated. What I find particularly lazy is the way that people are so quick to judge others for these surface details and not for their personality, skill, and insight. Formal education is just one way that people can learn and exercise their minds. Thank goodness it's not the only one- what a boring world we would have, then! Don't let these clients get you down. They are the ones showing their ignorance. By being the successful SP that you are, you have proved your smarts quite adequately, I think.
  11. Happy birthday, RG! I hope you get to celebrate it in the way that makes you happiest!
  12. I set out this evening to try to make things right with a friend. I came home realizing how much I have to make right with myself. Damn.
  13. I was once the recipient of cheers and applause when I was caught skipping down the street. (Skipping is a very fun and efficient mode of transport!) The way we move betrays our inner experience. Do we move with wild abandon or careful purpose? Do we step lightly and with ease, or is there something dragging us down? Conversely, here's a fun experiment to try: walk as if everything is going your way. Hold your head high and pretend that today is the best day ever. What does that feel like? There is so much power in taking ownership of the way you move in your environment. Our perspective of the world comes not just from our minds, but our bodies, too. Have you ever tried on someone else's walk? Instant perspective change. It's really very cool.
  14. I like Meg because she exudes class and sass- and she is a helpful and kind embassador of CERB.
  15. I came across this one in the dedication of the book I'm reading right now: "All I hope to say in books, all that I ever hope to say, is that I love the world" -E.B. White
  16. A few hours ago, I had what can only be described as the best doughnut of my life.
  17. I want to party it up with Oscar Wilde and Emma Goldman! "If I can't dance, I don't want to be part of your revolution." My revolution is a dancing revolution too, Emma!
