I agree but it also necessary to maintain a "balance" here. As much as we want to ensure the lady is compatible as I plan to spend 4 or 5 hours with her, and possibly a lot more on repeat visits we can't exchange seeming endless emails or take up a lot of the lady's time, that's why I am such a fan of the introductory luncheon and then sending along a "tasteful" picture is almost necessary to enable that to occur. Anyone have any thoughts on restaurant meeting recognition protocols? I usually wear two different coloured lanyards which is unusual enough for them to be sure it is me and at the same time not unusual enough at all to be conspicuous. I only found one lady I didn't get along very well with, and quite frankly I think she has problems with her own self esteem and I unintentionally intimated her not immediately or quickly enough realizing this.

"Best Of" CERB Posts...
backrubman replied to cat's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Actually I have spent countless hours going though posts since the beginning of (CERB) time. Though that I acquired much more knowledge and understanding than I could possibly hope for. I never imagined there could be so much information so easily accessible and such a wonderful community of people. It has truly enriched my life. While I do travel a lot, it almost seems I "know" someone I have never met before from their posts here and when the occasion does arise I finally get to meet them in person, even for the first time, it is like meeting some I already know. I can't imagine why anyone would need to go somewhere else as everything is here along with the collective knowledge and experience of so many brilliant minds. -

First Time Hobbyist - SP Recommendation?
backrubman replied to ott1980's topic in Ottawa Discussion - Escorts
Ottawa has way too many wonderful, awesome, and spectacular choices to make it easy. It's almost like Disney world for adults :) Always a conundrum when I travel there :) Welcome! -
I have no business responding to this thread (and apologize in advance) but I am immediately suspicious of this. My first thought is that "scary and intimidating" has turned into some sort of psychological warfare. I am very doubtful his wife would be emailing you as opposed to spending her energy on chasing him with a cast iron frying pan. It seems just another way for this sick narcissistic guy who in your very good judgement you chose not to see to get even (in his sick mind). Has it occurred to you that this email is likely from him and not his wife? Letters on a page in a virtual (as opposed to the real) world, they can't hurt you or even bother you unless you let them. If you respond at all to this, it should be to say "yes, please do call the police, I really want to talk to them also" as you have done nothing wrong.

Sexually assaulting a man
backrubman replied to Cleo Catra's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Yeah but a guy's morning thickness (not to be confused at all with a gal's morning sickness) is not arousal. That daily erection is just your body's way of naturally exercising that ability, lest you loose that ability when you need it. If I punch you in the stomach (because you are a better fisherman than me) and you didn't want me to, it's assault. Same rule equally applies to sexual assault, except there is something sexual so that makes it a sexual assault. If course if I don't touch, detain or restrain you then it's harassment and add anything sexual and it's sexual harassment. Applies to all genders. That said, I was sexually harassed at work once by a lady and if I had complained about it or been bothered by it I suppose they would have done her for sexual harassment, and if someone had over heard it they probably would have called it sexual harassment, but instead I was flattered and drove home singing with the radio :) So it wasn't harassment at all because the truth be told it wasn't unwelcome. Unwelcome anything is unwelcome, it's as simple as that, isn't it? -

My heart goes out to you. We have three (not by choice) but the nicest of all found us and came to my door one day with a completely broken paw and near death from starvation. A lot of money on vet bills later, she is the nicest cat I have ever known. I knew that if we didn't take her in, it was a virtual death sentence. During the 6 weeks it took for her paw to heal we kept her in a spare bedroom with a kitty litter, food, a radio (for some faint ambient background noise so she'd never really feel alone) and each evening I would take my note book computer or a good book and lay on the floor next to her for hours to keep her company. Now she follows me everywhere though out our very large house, more like a puppy dog than a cat. Every morning without fail she is waiting for me to wake up so she can make the trek downstairs with me for my morning coffee, I don't really understand this ritual but it seems of the utmost importance to her. I know she will be waiting for me this evening when I come home (as she knows exactly when that will be without the aid of a watch). They really are or do quickly become members of our family with their own personalities. -
Fascinating topic. Growing up (and learning in school only American history (very little of our own Canadian history) I wrongly was taught to believe that the Constitution of the United States was untouchable. Then the Patriot Act, the Guantanamo Bay detention camp, and the openly state sponsored (President of the United States ordered) assassination (murder) of Osama bin Laden taught me that this just wasn't so. I have successfully argued simpler cases in a Court room using the Charter and it was an easy win. 11(b) and 11(d) were a cake walk overturning a conviction where there was no trial. It must remain so as these are the most basic rights and freedoms in accordance with the principles of fundamental justice.

What would you do?
backrubman replied to business_student_sj's topic in Escort Discussion for New Brunswick
Well the OP did say family and I have to assume it was hypothetical but it is an interesting topic as just how we do react when we run into someone we know makes us a gentleman or otherwise. Once I was propositioned on the street by a girl I dated in high school :) She didn't realize it was me until I faced her head on to thank her for her offer and very politely decline it, wishing her a great evening as I always try to do. We ended up going for a coffee and having a wonderful conversation (the evening was still young). Another time I did run into an SP I had seen professionally and I was with my wife, we passed as ships in the night with only a slight smile to each other of acknowledgement that no one could notice or be sure of which is the way it should go down. On another occasion a lady tripped (why they wear high heals... anyways) on the front steps of an Ottawa hotel and the entire contents of her purse was dumped down the steps, condoms, pager (in those days) and even her business cards. I was the only one that stopped to help her collect it all before the wind got it and she was so embarrassed until I assured her I felt she was in the world's most honourable of professions (there was no doubt from her business card) and we became friends. I'm just unable to see this job in any way as something other than any other job, except to say that I do have to admire those that choose to do it. -
Sad news: Sledgehammer porn actor killed in LA..
backrubman replied to Carrie Moon's topic in In the news
I'm a big fan of tasers and believe some lives have been saved BUT only when the only alternative is the use of lethal force. It appears at this point that use of lethal force wasn't required, hopefully his loss will have some meaning in that it will change the way the police are allowed to act. We have seen this before at the Vancouver airport, enough is enough. Tasers can be lethal and should only be used when definitely lethal force would otherwise have to be used. My sincere condolences on the loss of your friend Carrie. -
What would you do?
backrubman replied to business_student_sj's topic in Escort Discussion for New Brunswick
It is the world's oldest and most honorable profession so I am quite certain that I would respect their choice. My sister lives in Vancouver, I only hear from her once or twice a year and for all I know she is hanging around Davie street. She is a few years older than me and that makes it not my business what choices any adult makes, she has the right. If my daughter wanted to do that and approached the avocation with the same dedication and conviction as those I have come to know, again, as an adult her choice to make, not mine. I do not judge those that would take up or choose this most honorable of professions. -
I find that nothing beats Ambien (Zolpidem). I do have what is sometimes a high pressure job and sometimes too much intellect and my mind sometimes refuses to shut down so Ambien is a rarely used, but a wonder drug (for me) when really necessary. The molecules are very small and go thought the GI track very quickly. In my case (and most others) you take this on an empty stomach and dam well better be in bed and ready for sleep with in 15 minutes after taking it or you are at risk of falling asleep on your way to bed. The half life is so short it wares off very quickly so no grogginess in the morning. In severe cases Ambien CR (controlled release) will keep you asleep longer but I find just getting asleep to be the problem so regular Ambien (10 mg) is usually more than sufficient. I can't see how it isn't completely safe as they have been using this very drug to repair the brain and bring otherwise comatose patients out of their coma by administering 20 times the usual dose and it is the most prescribed sleeping pill in the US. That said, I usually take advantage of a visit to a foreign country to get a prescription and bring back some for personal use if I am running low. While "approved" in Canada it remains unavailable so the next best (closest commonly available Canadian equivalent is Imovaine (Zopiclone) which is inferior in every way (takes an hour to work and not as well and sometimes leaves a bad taste, copper like, in your mouth). For really troublesome insomnia nothing beats Ambien. Not available in Canada :) But if you have occasional throuble sleeping and can get some, well worth the effort.

Never miss an opportunity to see her and revel in her presence for as long as you can. It is a life changing experience that will uplift your spirits for weeks and make you come to know how much delicate, perfect, wonderful and incredible beauty there is in this world. On a scale of 1 to 10, señorita Penélope is well over a million and one in a million :) Oh and she's really nice too.

Bridgewater N.S. Bawdy House Arrest
backrubman replied to a topic in Escort Discussion for Nova Scotia
Yeah, I don't think we can even be sure of that until it is official. The Supreme Court of Canada is just that so while they can be petitioned to hear a case, my it is my understanding it is completely within their purview to decide to hear it or not. They could choose to ignore it and decline to hear it, they are after all the highest Court in the land so they can't be compelled to do anything, even listen :) -
Bridgewater N.S. Bawdy House Arrest
backrubman replied to a topic in Escort Discussion for Nova Scotia
Well, like WIT pointed out, strictly speaking it "applies" nowhere right now as the law remains for 12 months following the Appeal Court decision. That said, this is a Canadian Criminal Code section we are talking about which applies in all provinces. The fact that the decision was reached by the Ontario Court of Appeal matters not. If the law is a Charter problem, it is so everywhere in Canada as it's not a provincial law that was successfully challenged but several provisions of the Canadian Criminal Code itself. As my associate pointed out, a Nova Scotia Court would really have no choice but to reach the same conclusion but it shall never be put before them as it is pointless (the matter has already been decided twice now) and the Crown of course knows this. Of course I'm by no means any authority on the subject, several other members have followed this much more closely but I did take advice from a most impressive and well known member of the bar and his opinion was they aren't going to go there yet again (at the provincial level), Supreme Court of Canada possibly. -

Thanks WIT, who knows what the state of things will be 5 or 10 years from now? I was speaking with a good friend of mine today who is Nova Scotia barrister (with the impressive QC - Queens Council rank) on another matter and also asked about this one :) He relates that in his [unquestionably expert] opinion, he would love nothing better than to take on any prosecutor that would dare pursue a charge using a law that had been found to be a Charter violation even if that law is "technically" still in full force and effect as such a case (if pursued) would have to undeniably steer the same course and end with the same result. Yes and I have it from reliable sources that those who would play any part in deciding not to turn a blind eye were in fact well known customers :) When this eventually changed, any move to move against the ladies was met with "high ranking" pressure to let them be (again from powerful fans and patrons). Apparently central to this blind eye was the fact that the madame kept records and it was feared they would become a public court record. Oddly, and quite surprisingly when they did finally move against her the seized records were somehow misplaced :) -

Well this law has been found by not one but two Courts of competent jurisdictions to be a Charter violation. While I agree it remains in full force and effect for another 11 months or so, it does say "charges had not yet been laid.". Personally I can't wait to see what (if any) charges might be laid. Perhaps a disturbing the peace sort of thing, the Crown dare not proceed to prosecute under a law that has been established be in conflict with the Charter, even if it is still in effect. Yes the law is still in "place" but the case can proceed much like the precedent setting case prior and the outcome is a mathematical certainty, so why bother? Maliciousness prosecution? No, good chance the charges (if any) will be reduced to something else. Doubtless they had to do what they had to do. If not, the Crown (with any sense) will just decline to proceed and drop the charge under this law (if it ever gets filed) as the case would be obviously un-winnable. -
I like Penelope because she sets the bar so high. She is everything she says she is in her announcements and a whole lot more. The very nature of the world would be different in a world without Penelope: She touches everyone's life she meets in such a special and unique way. You can't help but feel privileged to meet her, honoured to know her, touched by her kindness...

Bed Bug Epidemic-Not A Joke
backrubman replied to roamingguy's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
I have traveled the world and once ran out of pages in my passport and have run into the little critters on rare occasions but the funny thing is they always leave me alone and never bother with me. Of course when returning home, everything in my suitcase is washed in hot water and it gets immediately treated with bug spray. Has anyone else experienced this strange phenomena were they leave you alone? -
That's a little like a kiss and tell question. After very careful consideration and recollection I'd have to say that truly all (with one single exception) I have had the supreme pleasure to meet had the most wonderful sexy voices that always took my breath away in their own way. And the one lady with the annoying squeaky irritating voice, well that was the only thing about her that wasn't fantastic so it wasn't so important after all :) Thank goodness she's NOT a CERB lady :)

Wow, I am so sorry that happened to you, what a creep! But you are very right, until the transfer is accepted by the receiver, the sender can cancel it, once accepted it cannot be reversed. I love Interac transfers, do you know how many germs are on a typical twenty dollar bill? But here is something to keep in mind also. While the gentleman can not remain anonymous and send you an Interac transfer because his bank will send along his name (as they know it to be which is going to be his real name) with the notification, it is important for the SP to realize that if they do accept the transfer and then subsequently have to refund the money for whatever reason, you, the SP are now the sender and your bank is going to send the client you are refunding your real name. And he just might even work for the bank (or know someone that does) so now he can know not only your real legal name but your address, date of birth, mother's maiden name, social insurance number, your credit history including account balances and what you had for breakfast. And even if he doesn't work for the bank (or know someone that does), with your complete legal name he can dig. Of course no decent gentleman is ever going to do such a digging operation but before you accept that transfer, if there is any possibility you will have to issue a refund then you have to be aware you'll be sending your legal name (the one on your ID you had to show the bank to open the account) and in most cases I see no problem with that as long as you are aware you are doing it.

Well in my case, if I don't book as far in advance as possible and block it in my calendar as busy time then I run much more of a risk of having something come up at the last minute. So once I have a booking (weeks in advance if possible) I put it in my calendar as a medical appointment that I can not miss :) It really is a medical appointment when you think about it. My staff can see this and they know that time is long since booked and off limits for any last minute shuffling. If I don't approach it that way then because others manage my calendar for me, I could end up with them doing some last minute juggling.

Exactly. It's natural to "assume" (if you don't know otherwise) that there is some sinister reason they asked to be on the DNR list but as CERB doesn't allow negative reviews anyways, it's not like that at all. In my particular case I have no idea why the lady wants to be DNR as she would get great reviews, except to say that she doesn't need reviews, she has more business than she can handle and is a true credit to this most honorable of professions. Maybe she was getting too much business :)
-
While I might be inclined to agree with you if I didn't "know" better, I can attest that you are wrong (unintentionally I am sure). Before I discovered CERB I met a lady on the DNR list and she was fantastic, of course I had no idea she was DNR (or even that CERB existed at the time). So your point is well taken but it is way too much of a generalization to be completely fair and I'm by no means disagreeing with you saying this as you didn't have the benefit of my ignorance and actually seen a DNR lady.
-
I suppose the other thing I forgot to mention about this is that when accepting the transfer if the lady enters any "comment", it is transmitted back to the sender by the bank and banks keeps records of everything :) Not that will be a problem necessarily but it is recorded somewhere for all time (or a long time). It's also important to send the Interac "password" by some other means than email (text message, telephone call, etc.) just in case the lady uses a hotel Wifi somewhere and gets her email account compromised. The ladies with their own domain name and hosting package are often unaware that their hosting company's POP3 account is totally insecure. Check your email just once on a Wifi network and the email address and password go flying by the airwaves for all to see (or anyone in range listening). And finally Interac is almost instant in most cases, the lady has an email within a minute or two. You can also instantly cancel the transaction up to a second or two before she accepts the transfer which is something the lady needs to be aware of. So I find it a much better way than dealing with cash. Couldn't agree more; and I suppose if I can't trust her enough to send her funds this way then it isn't someone I want to spend time with anyways.
