Ethics - Outing a fellow hobbyist
backrubman replied to theoldguy's topic in Ottawa Discussion - Escorts
You mean it isn't legal now? You must be an American (or watch too much American TV), it is not now and never has been illegal in Canada. Of course warrant-less searches of someone else's computer (without the Court's permission) or illegal wire tapping or surreptitious video surveillance is illegal. -
Ethics - Outing a fellow hobbyist
backrubman replied to theoldguy's topic in Ottawa Discussion - Escorts
There really isn't enough detail on how the information was collected but what you have discovered and who you have discovered on behalf of doesn't seem possible without what the Courts would consider to be an illegal wiretap. If you are completely within the law and therefore fireproof then you have a moral and ethical obligation to do (and complete) the job you were hired to do otherwise go directly to jail, do not pass go and do not collect $200 :) -
I think people are becoming more aware of the real situation also. It used to be most Canadians believed it was illegal from watching too much American TV and I think this is still the case (but much less so) and more people are coming to realize the Canadian truth (due some of the nuisance laws being over turned and the looming Supreme Court case) and I think more people are not buying into the stereotypes depicted on TV anymore also as so many SPs (and even a CERB celebrity client) have come forward and educated more of the population. All those things together are starting to work to bring the worlds oldest profession properly understood to be an honourable profession and the instant "all the knowledge of the world at your fingertips" of the Internet plays a role also of course.

The little blue pill
backrubman replied to AllysonNS's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Yeah, they have both, the sealed and real deal from the manufacturer (in original packaging with the hologram) and also a generic version. I don't think I would "trust" the more generic versions as you can't be sure. These substances should really be prescribed by a medical doctor and I was kind of shocked to see they weren't. If you are entering Canada with medications that normally require a prescription here you best have the prescription (or the placard from the pharmacy baring the name of the prescribing physician) or could run into trouble. -

It would be very ill advised to do this even if you could. I've heard it is a common question but way too big a risk for the SP to illicitly supply prescription drugs to a client in Canada. I guess they are not so dangerous as they are commonly sold without a prescription or notable (news worthy) incidents in third world countries. Recently I was in a pharmacy in República Dominicana (to buy a nail clipper) and they had a big sign skillfully painted on the wall in multiple languages, "Viagra, Levita, Cialis, available here - no prescription necessary" and the glass display case was well stocked :) -

Gold, Platinum, diamonds are commodities :) All those I can buy (and own) but you are so much more rare and special I can only rent the supreme honour of your presence and company for a short time and only if you are willing. -
Question About Cell Phones
backrubman replied to roamingguy's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
It is ok to take your cell phone with you but be sure to turn off data completely if you have a data plan unless you make other arrangements. Just checking email in the background (you might have no idea the phone is doing it) with no active web surfing on your part can run up data costs fast. As soon as I turn on my Bell phone in the US or Caribbean (or any country), I get an immediate text message from Bell saying welcome to where-ever, roaming rates are as follows... Note that turning off data doesn't stop text messages. I often take my cell phone to a foreign country where using it would be a little expensive to use it but I just don't use it unless I have to. When I am long term over-seas I usually have a pre-paid cell from that country and my regular phone as an expensive backup when all else fails. I often use my cell phone to check email in a foreign country or even for web surfing, I just turn on free Wifi when it is available (and that is the case in most airports these days). -
Service Provider Tourism
backrubman replied to bunnyfufu's topic in Escort Discussion for Thunder Bay
I think absolutely the best you can do for your clients is the secret. It gives you a good reputation which brings in the new ones and it keeps the regulars coming back. With the regulars, why not ask them if there is something more or different you could do for them? I'm sure the magic you seek is somewhat specific to the client in each case. I used to work for the government and their idea of a successful meeting was if they were able to set a date for the next meeting, didn't have to accomplish anything else it seemed. Myself, I will ALWAYS visit a lady I know and am happy with the previous experience with her, resorting to someone new only as a last resort. There are other clients that try to see as many different ladies as they can and I say whatever floats your boat to them (as they like variety), but I hate wasting time getting to know someone new and them having to get to know me. I guess in all fairness I must confess I do have variety as I travel and visit multiple cities or have multiple favourites in a given city due to one of them being unavailable. -

Converting MS Access database to stand-alone app
backrubman replied to JoyfulC's topic in Tech corner
I tend to agree with you so I would put it on a private network not accessible from the Internet and then make it available by having to light up an encrypted VPN tunnel (yes, across the Internet) to get to this special network and only doable with an inexpensive hardware authentication token. Still has the advantage and convenience of a web based application and nobody loses their testicles :) In a way it horrifies me what we are doing today as I'm sure a lot of private information is exchanged via the CERB PM system and that entire database is Internet touchable (I just inserted is record into it). -
Oh how I envy you. Of course you will NEVER forget it as long as you live. That said, I do recall reading a recommendation or two written by someone like yourself who had chosen Peachy and I was truly touched.

How to deal with underage SP?
backrubman replied to a topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
That's a good point General. I know of a lady who flew to Europe using her older sister's passport (because they look enough alike it was passable). A fake or borrowed real ID from an older sister could be the passkey an underage girl uses. In a sense the third world is safer as the hotel staff takes responsibility for checking the lady's ID and holds on to it, returning it to her only during a no trouble occurred check out of the hotel. I imagine a borrowed or fake ID might have a way of otherwise disappearing leaving the client with no defense. I don't see any problem having LE check it out, if she is of age and doing out calls then she is doing nothing illegal. -
How to deal with underage SP?
backrubman replied to a topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
If the sp advertises as 18, and looks younger or older than that, it is his responsibility to check her ID and verify her age. It doesn't matter if he does it knowingly or unknowingly, the law is the law and doesn't care if he knew her age or not. It was his responsibility to find out., not hers to volunteer it. We already know the underagers are lying about their age, it is up to him to verify it before proceeding. Well I once saw one of these hustles go down at a distance but got a clear look at the chica and I would have guessed early 20s. I suppose the same makeup tricks could be used in Canada. Although such a lady wouldn't be of interest to me I can see how a client could unknowingly get sucked into this vortex (particularly if it is a setup with a girl that is trying to look older than she is). I once had a platonic chica companion that looked 18ish (platonic for many reasons, age being only just one of them) but the resort staff did (standard practice) check and hold on to her cedula. She made an excellent Spanish teacher :) -

Can we change that to "any man who would knowingly have sex with a underage girl deserves what he gets"? Some ladies don't look as young as they really are or lie about their age when asked. Of course this is not a risk for me as I have no interest in someone young enough that age would be "questionable" at all. Common scam in the third world, were the police are always able to come busting in (prearranged) and hustle the client out of a couple of hundred dollars to avoid prosecution because he wasn't smart enough to check her cedula de identidad, of course in Canada a lady is likely to take offense or refuse if you asked to see her ID. -
What would u do?
backrubman replied to Fresh start's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
My circumstances are very similar to yours except my wife will probably live longer than I will but due to her medical condition she is simply unable to be intimate. To her credit she does encourage me but I never would tell as it would just make her feel more inadequate. -
Of course these laws are in dispute and we await to hear from the Supreme Court. Already two courts of competent jurisdiction have ruled they are a Charter violation so if you were charged (as people were in the past) the outcome of the resulting trail is already predetermined (until we here from the Supreme Court) by these precedents so they aren't going to go down that road again unless there is something more going on . No prosecutor wants to get whacked for a third time. The offence would be "communicating for the purpose in a public place" so if as you say "no talk about procuring" is going on and you are just having a friendly lunch date, it would be all good (and that one is not in dispute so I guess we can expect it to linger for a long time). I do this as a matter of routine (a lunch date). SP's screen their clients, I think it only fair the other way around if you are willing to pay for their time (and provide a nice meal) and the SP is agreeable of course. Of course I am never seeking a lady I want to see once, I am seeking a lady I will see many times given the opportunity.

And having a CERB lady come visit YOU is completely legal in every way (in Canada) as long as she is of or beyond the age of consent :)
-
Yes, have to agree with you there... I've had to make formal complaints against them several times to get matters resolved for people. Of course as soon as they have to respond to such a complaint (and only have so long to do it or else) they always end up seeing it your way "just this once" and quickly. Other people like them :) YMMV

Well in a way... certainly any reply to a text message is going to come from the phone (and it's associated number) it is sent from. The iPhone can handle multiple email accounts with ease. Certainly with iPhone (or Android) there is always an app for that but any reply comes from the phone used to reply.

Anyone believe in the end of the world?
backrubman replied to backrubman's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Well when I started this thread I never expected the world was going to end. But here I am in the Caribbean as planned, the weather has been outstanding which actually (honestly) makes me feel a little guilty for all those folk with the big snow storm. We had a hell of a nice party and lots of time to talk shop, exchanging knowledge and ideas for the coming year. All in all it has been the most successful "End of the World" we shall ever live to see. Seasons greetings and kindest regards to all CERBies where ever they may be! -

backrubman replied to backrubman's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Well, as expected turns out nobody here at the party believes the world will end on December 21 however there have been cases of the media scaring little children (shame on them). As it has turned out, it was one of the best ideas myself and my associates collectively ever came up with (if the world doesn't end), everything from the weather to the the great ideas we have come up with and information and knowledge we are sharing with is perfect. Seasons greetings and very kindest regards to CERBies where ever they may be from the Caribbean. BackRubMan -
Using profanity.
backrubman replied to NotchJohnson's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
A very reputable and wonderful SP was talking to me and once said "Oh, F--, I'm so glad you used the F word first, I was afraid I'd slip up" :) Only then did I realize that although we had been talking rather candidly for the last 20 minutes or so she was "guarded" in that she didn't want to use any expletives for fear I was too stuck up and might be offended. The English language just doesn't have the words to express strong emotions without the use of the occasional expletives. At the same time I do find people that can't recite a single sentence without cursing somewhat annoying. In any event, in the heat of the moment, the lady can do no wrong. -
I wonder if it isn't just that they just close their browser without actually logging out?

Yes and that has some of my American associates totally bent out of shape (irrationally so) so I expect any attempt to legalize prostitution beyond the very few areas (like some counties in Nevada) would be met with much resistance. Of course I do have my own concerns about legalizing marijuana (no road side Breathalyzer for that) but other than people that are not used to the substance then driving after having a little too much I do not view it with the same vigorous objections they do. Yes, very wise approach.

It has always seemed odd to me that an allegedly democratic and free country is so repressive compared to Canada (and many other countries) on this matter. I once spoke with an SP who told me she had done two years in prison for soliciting in Florida. If what she was telling me was all there was to it (and she swears there were no other charges) then it seemed cruel and unusual punishment. Sure, that would be a crime in Canada as well but might be a fine? And these days, likely nothing beyond a warning.
