Mod, I have paid for advertising in the past. I have also offered a potential solution for your troubles with EC -- but, if you continue to charge a certain amount for a site that offers limited return, then I'm sorry, but I won't be paying for advertising. I'm not sure why you are so angry; you asked for opinions, and I gave you mine. Perhaps it was not the opinion you were looking for, but that is honestly how I see the site now. A few years back, I would have happily paid for advertising here. But the truth is that the same client base is not here currently as it was several years ago, and so the return is not the same. Per you, EC is not making money. I suggested that you offer a discount, whether that be on the the monthly cost, or offer a discounted multi-month bundle. If you temporarily lower costs, you will get more advertisers, driving up your monthly revenue. If you have more advertisers, you will see more clients using the site. More clients = more returns for advertisers = advertisers willing to pay the current advertising fees.

There is not enough of a return here for me to justify paying for advertising. I barely advertise here as it is. IMO, you would lose a number of independents if you changed this.

Some of the options are all-or-nothing; for example, I don't want a free-for-all with ad titles (a la BP) but I would like to see the rules relaxed a bit.

But you did, in posting on an online forum, where people may disagree with you, and may have opinions that contradict your own. Have you heard of the term "topping from the bottom"? We can argue until we are blue in the face about what one "should" or "shouldn't" do, but at the end of it all, it is really up to the individual as to what they actually do. Some people choose not to disclose for a number of reasons, including how they identify, and what they perceive the risks of non-disclosure to be. Others may have weighed the pros and cons and decided for themselves to disclose. If it is that important to you, then ask politely during the booking process. Also, on that note, please respect someone's choice as to whether they disclose this information, or how they go about it. Some may indicate it on their website or ad, and some may choose to disclose that information on a more personal level, such as by email or during a phone call. It always irks me to see threads asking about a provider, because if it's not publicly disclosed, there may be a reason for it (including safety), and generally these discussions use shitty, transphobic language.
