Being caught within those demonic years, I remember riding my bike with no safety gear, skateboarding without a million miles of equipment on, going to my friends places (just cause it was fun and I had many), and having to be within earshot of my own house when the streetlights came on. I grew up in a very small place, and believe me, my mother knew where I was at any given time of the day, no matter how hard it tried to evade her! Lol There was no way I was getting into trouble without my mother knowing about, and she knew WAY before I got home. Hehehehe As for walkmans, fancy bikes, Rollerblade, safety equipment, and the like, my family couldn't afford it never mind have it for all of us, 3 of us shared one bike! I have to admit though, growing up I had some fun times, as poor as we were I always had friends, and that was worth more to me than anything materialistic that my parents couldn't afford anyway. I find the younger generation, a lot of the times, takes for granted what they have. Giving everything and doing everything for your kids is not the way I want to do things, I've been working since I could walk, so I learned the value of money at a very early age. I always had everything that I needed (which wasn't much) but anything I wanted, I worked for. I like to think that society has learned from each generation, at least I hope they do. I was instilled with good values, I only hope the next generation is as well. -

Hard to believe that we can do it to a lengthy paragraph, but apparently we can! The letter, that cannot be named, the enigmatic uncontrollable urge to place that letter, well let me tell you, whew! tough to beat. I, for one, cannot view a world without that inane letter, although we are all doing very well in avoiding that all important letter. The alphabet could not be taught without it, and certain other day to day work could not be undertaken without it. Here we are, trying to avoid in a certain way, one letter that can hold importance for all. -
Locations
Secrets of Victoria replied to Secrets of Victoria's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
A lot of them are not filled out. I get guys asking me all the time where I am, and yet 95% of those that contact me, don't have anything listed. Thanks for your response. -
How many of us ladies have wonderful conversations with gentlemen, they send us pm's asking for details (which is great), we look at their profile, and look and behold, nothing there about their location. How many ladies would like to see the guys post on their profiles at least the province that they are in? I have had many wonderful chats with the guys, they have asked about services I provide, donations and restrictions.....all in all, good information to know, but it would be nice if we knew where they were located. A lot of times I will have guys ask me where I'm located, it's on my profile. So if any ladies feel the same way that perhaps the guys should put a location on their profile, let me know. I got messaged from a few that didn't even have gender listed, so I have absolutely no idea with whom I am trying to have a conversation. For those gentlemen that have their location listed, thank you.

To each their own, I try to find the perfect place for me to be in touch with the human mind that will help me with my daily thought. If I can get through the day to find that light at the end of the tunnel, then I have achieved the ultimate in control. Finding the right place to achieve the actual act, that would allow me to believe in the power above, would leave me fulfilled. Anything other than that, may be the undoubtedly undoing of my mind. -

Beware the circle of trust
Secrets of Victoria replied to backrubman's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
I can't believe what I read in this post! We all have a screening process in line, and I, for one, use it. If someone approaches me through means other than pm on cerb and uses a lady as a reference, not only am I going to inquire with the lady, but also with the person with whom I believe to be communicating with. I had someone give me two references of ladies, only to find out that neither one have ever provided services for that particular person. Needless to say, that person does not get to see me, as I will not receive anyone that tries to pull that. Checking is a great resource. -

Oooohhhhhh, I do love a challenge! Let me try to convey how I can leave a comment without utilizing that letter. Boy, harder than I though, but I think I've managed to tell you that a thread of comment without a certain letter, harder to do than you think! Good one! -
Does education matter?
Secrets of Victoria replied to a topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
I am in full agreement here. I've been turned away because I have 'too much education' or been told that I don't have enough practical experience in my field. Unfortunately, I need both the education and the practical experience in order to be hired. I have both. Education does not make me any more intellectual than anyone else on here by any means, just means I was dumb enough to pay for it all, lol! Some of the most fascinating people I ever met had no formal education to speak of. They read lots, watched world current events and could put the so-called intellect to shame. Education should never have to be a part of what we do as sp's, with the exception of honing our craft and educating ourselves on what our clients needs are. Almost every sp that I have met can carry on a conversation with the best of them, and there have been some that couldn't carry a conversation if it had handles. Higher education has no merit in our work here, it does not make any of us better or worse than any other sp -

A thank you is always welcomed. When giving advice (that's been asked), I have been thanked. When asking advice and receiving it, I always thank, its just common courtesy. Same goes for helping. -
What you were asking was for a way to determine fees.... A little different from discussing fees, no one replied with anything on fees, so I think your safe here. Nothing wrong with making an inquiry on how to do something.
-
It's always good to take a look around the area and get a feel for what others fees are. Take into consideration what you offer and look at what you feel you are worth. We all have different services, so it's a bit like comparing apples to oranges, but depending on the services that you offer, and how much in demand those services are, you should be able to work out your fees. If you offer something that no one else does, and it's something often requested, then you can factor that into the equation. Just remember though, most prospective are just looking at the $ figure and not the service provided, a lot have asked me to reduce fees, and I won't as it brings everyone in the area grief. I know the last thing anyone wants is someone 'undercutting' every other sp's fees just to get clients. That was one of my reasons for leaving NB, too much of that drama going on with what I call the 'revolving door' girls. Seeing as many clients in a day as possible and undercutting everyone's fees to get them there, some of my clients were disgusted with the services and conditions these girls were offering, eeeewww. Take stock in what you provide and what it costs you to provide it, then you will find your fee structure. It costs money to make money, I consider everything from rent to laundry to photos and refreshments.

Whoever did that to make you feel that way is a total jackass! There is NO deserving of that for any means. We should not have to prove anything to anyone, or be compared to anyone. We don't fit into any mold, but that guy didn't have the sense to get that. You are a lady in every sense of the word, keep that in mind. Good thoughts and wishes going out to you, keep smiling, your worth it!

What a nice feeling that must have been, not only for you, but for the recipient. Just a pity you were stood up though
