Things that make you go hmmm?
tokan replied to Meg O'Ryan's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
So I just happen to come across a picture for this movie and I have to say it has me intrigued. Will it be one of those movies that is just so ridiculous that you can't stop laughing or will it just be plain bad. If it's on Netflix I may just have to sneak a peak, lol. -
And I was looking forward to another Spinners song, lol, oh well get to post this gem instead :) Ted Nugent - Stranglehold

I live in a small town as well so I understand what Peachy said about if you happen to fart in a general direction suddenly the whole town knows, lol. There are some positives to living in a small town, but you definitely need to keep your nose clean or you'll be the centre of attention for the next while and in this business that's definitely not good. The worst place I found for rumours was high school though. Gossip and rumours pretty much spread like wild fire and if you happen to be on the but end of a particularly bad rumour it can pretty much get you shunned by all your classmates. High School can be rough enough when your not exactly part of the cliques without having to deal with rumours, but tack that on and it can do some serious harm. Not only could it destroy someone's rep but it could also go on to hurt someone on a personal/emotional level. I guess you could say that spreading rumours about someone in high school could be considered a form of bullying and should stopped as soon as possible.

Being this is Saturday morning I was reminded how old I was when I remembered watching G.I. Joe, The Real Ghostbusters, and Transformers on Saturday morning cartoons. And at the risk of sounding even older, I'm going to say those cartoons were way better than what they show nowadays, lol. For your enjoyment :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X8eLP4Bgsuo

The Mind, Body Connection.
tokan replied to Jade-S (Retired)'s topic in New to this? Things you should know...
I have to agree with what Porthos and RG both said. A short appointment just isn't enough time to establish a real good connection with a person. To be honest I find with me it takes time to really establish a good rapport with a person and to be fully comfortable with them, let alone be truly intimate. I'm not really looking for a wham bam thank you mam, but again that's just me. I like to get to know the person I'm with and to take my time with things, or have her take her time with me :) Also being located where I am a shorter appointment really is feasible either. But setting that aside, even if I lived next door to a favourite SP I'd still rather take my time because it can just make it all that more enjoyable. -
St. Lawrence River Temperature

As much as I despise the cold, I will admit that it would be really neat to watch the icebergs floating by on the rock. I've always heard great things about Newfoundland and maybe I'll have to make a trip out there sometime. -
lol, sorry about the Y RG but I just couldn't resist going with Haddaway when that H came up :) This one should be easier to follow up, lol. David Bowie - Rebel Rebel

St. Lawrence River Temperature

lol, okay I have to admit that the river is better than the ocean around Newfoundland for swimming. But the day I see icebergs floating down the river is the day I move further south ;) -

St. Lawrence River Temperature

I'd be lying if I failed to state there was a definite shrink factor, lol, but usually by July it's actually not to bad to swim in. At least it should hopefully be in the 70's. Some summers it's actually been quiet warm. Definitely seemed shallower though than other years, probably due to lack of rain. And as bad as the zebra muscles are to stand on the water is crystal clear. -

So I decided to go for a little swim in the river today, on an off day from work, and well the best way to describe it would be refreshing....refreshingly cold that is. If I had a camera with me I could have probably posted a picture of my nipple in the fripple thread, lol. And I wouldn't even need to photo shop it to get it too show up a nice shade of blue, lol. Anyway, the real reason I posted this thread is I found an american website that gives the water temp of the river and the great lakes. http://www.ndbc.noaa.gov/station_page.php?station=alxn6 You can use the map to change the location to the one you want to check out. It also does the water temp of a number of other lakes and rivers in the states as well, but unfortunately not Canada. Still looking for a good site for that. Anyway, it's worth a look for those curious on water temp. And FYI the river was 16.7 C (62.1 F)

That article was really interesting, thanks for posting it :) I'd be lying if said I wasn't guilty of occasionally spreading a rumour but now a days I really try not to. I have experienced first hand what having a negative rumour spread about you can do to you, and it isn't very pleasant, so why would I want to put someone else through that. What I found really interesting about this article though was it's effects on the markets and that they actually passed laws about spreading rumours about banks failing in New York. Makes me wonder if rumours have anything to do with oil prices spiking and falling. The worst rumours I find though are the ones that are somewhat grounded in the truth because those are the ones that I find can do the most damage even if they are false. When it comes to celebrity gossip though I just roll my eyes, it doesn't effect me in any way so why should I care what some actor is doing to himself. An exception to the celebrity gossip for me though is politics as it could actually have an effect on me. One of the most famous ones recently that I find interesting, and it was mentioned in the article, was the one about the President not being born in the U.S. Now to me I don't really care cause he seems to be doing a good job under difficult circumstances. But it is a law in the U.S. that only natural born U.S. citizens are eligible for the presidency so this could have serious ramifications during an election if people believed the rumour.

The one thing I love about the beautiful women of cerb is that they make all of us feel comfortable regardless of our shape or size. Big can be just as beautiful as small can be. Back in the 50's and 60's women like Marilyn Monroe and Bettie Page ruled the media and they weren't exactly petite women. So I don't think size will have any effect on your experience with a lady as long as you treat her with respect.
