Yes I am too interested in this new agency, especially in Sierra and Samantha. Unforunately poverty is widespread in the world. This is a rich country and so much stories of people living below poverty not having enough for essentials like food and housing:icon_sad:. Just imagine all the sad stories that people could share from other continents. There is enough wealth (food, housing...) for every citizen of the earth. It is just that about 10% wanting more than they need and keep some 90% of the wealth to themselves :icon_mad: and the button 30 to 50% live in absolute poverty. Yes, this is the human nature regretfully. The more they have the greedier they become to have even more even at the expense of others. Yes, my life story is unique in a way ......... I was lucky to be born in a relatively well off family with both my parents working hard one as a surgeon and the other as university teacher until something happened that changed all that. So, while I was in university the funding (coming from my parents) was cut off (not by my parents ....) and I suddendly had to count every dollar that I had and make sure it is spent on essentials. Hard for someone who was used to living in luxury suddendy to drop to the button. Never used to the below poverty life. Worked and studied for most of the 10 years I was in the university and got myself back up to become a middle class (self-made) but still far away from the lifestyle I used to have in my childhood. I remember when I was first year graduate student, I rented a small room with no air conditioning (cheap) and one day it got so hot that my heart went into fast irregular beating likely as a reaction to the heat or lack of essential food rich in vitamins and protein. Yes I have seen it all. Wealthy in the childhood (my parents) poverty borderline between 16 to 26 while studying (got scholarship at 26 for 3 years and worked too) and middle class from 29 years of age (when I started working) till now.

Yes I understand what you say but we have to have some cut off date after which the fetus becomes a living thing (with heart, brain and nerves and feeling pain) and based on the best of research as WIT indicated, 20 weeks seems to be the best cut off date range we can come up with. It appears that the majority concentrate solely on the woman's right to choose. I couldn't agree more. But what most forget is that the baby has rights too and there must be a balance between the two rights. I am not speaking on behalf of women which I too believe only a woman has a say in this matter but I speak out on behalf of voiceless choiceless baby but with rights in this case. Before 20 weeks woman's rights precedes and after 20 weeks, baby's. It is amazing that less than 19 weeks later the same mother is willing to sacrifice her life to save the same baby's life. Adoption instead of abortion after 20 weeks is always a choice too for the despaired single mothers.

Then after 20 weeks I believe that human rights of the unborn precedes the woman's right of choice for the mother, unless mother's health is at risk if she keeps her baby (in which case human rights of the mother (to live) precedes the right of the unborn). I believe this strikes a right balance between a woman's rights and human rights of the unborn. Also I think that 20 weeks provide plenty of time for mother to decide in cases of rape/unwanted/accidental pregnancy and beyond that abortion should not be allowed unless under extraordinary situations (like a health risk to mother). An unborn with heart beating and brain/nerves feeling has no choice like her mother does, but has rights too. My view anyways.

I am a pro-choice to certain limits. I always believe strongly in human rights and especially in women's rights and so I believe that a woman has the right to decide what to do with her body, HOWEVER, I believe that a fetus is a part of a woman's body for as long as it is a fetus BUT when heart is formed and starts beating and nerves are formed and start feeling (I think it is about 3 months after fertilization but I could be wrong about the time frame) then it is not a fetus anymore but a BABY and an integral living thing with rights to survive and exits and NOT part of a woman's body anymore (a woman's body becomes a temporary host to the baby until she is born) and then abortion becomes very wrong in my eyes. So, there must be a balance between a woman's right to self body and the baby's right to survive and live and the balance in my view is that only after a certain time after conception abortion should be allowed and must not after. A mother's life (in the case of health reasons when a woman's life may be in danger) would have priority over an unborn's life though in my book.

In my case the assured destruction was solely on my side lol as they were my students not colleagues. It appears that it was totally acceptable for them to be in a place that in their eyes was totally unacceptable for me to be in the exact same place.
