To be honest I am still not sure whether what she was saying was a lie (that her 2 year old daughter being sick) or the truth. All I know is that she promised to return the loan a week later at Barbs but she never showed up (but may be she spent it all on her child and did not have any to pay me back). So, at best it was a broken promise and at worse a lie (about the sick daughter). I never saw her again to find out. One sure thing, she needed money bad, may be not for a sick child but another urgent matter (she was not making much as dancer) and I knew her for two years (soon after her baby was born and she started dancing as she was dumped by her BF who was mad at her pregnancy!!!!!, like it was all her doing and the idiot guy had nothing to do with it!!!) she was not into drugs or anything. If I go back two years I would still do the exact same thing (would loan her the money knowing for sure that she would not pay it back), as even the slim chance that she may be telling the truth is not worth the risk. I bought myself a clear conscious worth much more than $300. I also care about the well being of the ladies that I see. To me they are people with hearts and minds not a piece of meat as I am sure same is true with overwhelming majority of others. I learned my lesson about 12 years ago lol. I was (graduate research associate) student in Montreal so I was real short of money then. On my way to school a young couple with a baby stopped me and asked me for donation to buy food for their baby. I walked away saying that sorry I don't have money (which I did have in my wallet). Quite clearly they were recent immigrants with eastern European face and accent and in need of money. The picture is still very clear in my mind even 12 years later. I will never forget the sleeping baby. I promised never again. So, yes I knew most likely the dancer was not telling the truth but 12 years ago I learned my lesson and I said to myself, NEVER Again. It is better to lose a bit of money than a clear conscious lol. As I said the $300 loss did not play a significant role in my life then. Yes I did smell trouble but the fact was that I was not sure and the thought of even slim chance that she may have been telling the truth and I might have denied a child (a two year old cute girl) from needed medicine would have hunted me for a long time. Going with her to the pharmacy did not cross my mind likely because I did not want to get involve in her personal life. The $300 did not really affect me that much. This is the amount I spend each weekend on entertainment (private dancers, escorts) every weekend and sometimes even more. I have been seeing a large number of dancers and many of them whom I know for a long time and they trust me enough, come over by themselves (I am outcalls only) for private dancing (to make extra money outside the dried up SCs, I guess). Of all the ones whom I have seen over several years, there was one who called me one Thursday night (very late as I was sleeping) that she needs $300 immediately and like to come over and see me (private dance for me). I had already booked my Saturday with another dancer so I had to turn down the offer. But she insisted that she needs the money to buy medicine for her sick child and since she works undertable (as a dancer officially she had no job) she does not have insurance. So, we agreed that I pay her the $300 as a loan for this week and we would go to Barbs and she would return the money to me exactly a week later at a specific time (I did not want her over to my place again as dancer after the very late night and very persistence call as I smelled trouble). So, I dropped by Barbs and pass her the envelope with cash and she was supposed to come back and pay back the loan in full (she even suggested an added interest of $50 which I rejected). Needless to say that I went to Barbs a week later and waited for hours but she never showed up!!!. I called her only once but the phone rang for long and she never picked up (she must have had call display lol) and she never called me back and I never saw her in any SC that I went to either. I forgot about the $300 and considered that a money given to charity lol. In the long run she lost a lot more than what she gained (I would have had her at least a few times like others at $300 donation each time) but that never happened. In all many cases that I had dated private dancers, they have been all fun and joy with a few exceptions and this was an exception (another case too that I was almost stalked for days but that is another unrelated story lol)

Thanks Cato for starting this interesting thread. I found the results so far very interesting really (I was not able to give you rep points for this as I have to spread it around:cry:). The fact that some 40% of people voted speak two languages surprised me since I realized that this thread is NOT in the Ottawa section (which would not have been a surprise since ottawa/Gatineau is more billingual than eveywhere else in Canada) but in the general section (which means everywhere in Canada). Going back to the subject of the thread, I speak, write and read two languages very fluently and can to some extend speak/undertand a third one as well. I voted for 2 though as the question in the poll was about how many languages one can speak or read competently.

No, I apologize for confusion. I receive a visitor every summer (a family member visiting me). I take my visitor to a hotel every Saturday afternoon so that I can have the apartment to myself for outcall (as you likely know I am an outcall only guy).
