Mine will be up next year too (second half of next year) and I will go for 5 year fix at 2.99% (hopefully it will stay that low). Predictions are that interest rates (mortgage rates) will start rising late next year (likely fall of 2013) as the economy gathers steam growing above the current weak grows rate of 1.5% to 1.8% expected until then. Also Canadian households are accumulating record debts and that by itself may trigger another tightening of the rules sooner than later or an earlier than expected rate rise. Housing sales/resales already weakend and housing prices stabilized as a result of last July's tightened rules. Best bet is that rates will remains this low for another 6 to 9 months at the most and beyond that it will rise but only slightly (but even 1% rise on average 300k mortgage is $3000 per year). So if your mortgage is due within this period, then going for 5 year fix is my advice.

This afternoon I had the pleasure of spending some amazing time again with Nathalie for a second time. Nathalie was my Christmas present from me to me :) and what a wonderful present too. It has become more difficult than finding a Gold mine here in Ottawa to find a Natural lady (in my desired age og 19 to 25). Even asian providers visiting from overseas (China, Korea) are shaven nowadays :( even from MoonBay (both ladies shaven) or Sweethearts all shaven recently!!!!.

That is good to hear. I was surprised in the past when I called December 31 to find a place to go and celeberate and found out they (SCs that I called) were all closed!!!!. Glad to see a change of this strange policy. I have two reasons to celeberate lol. January 1st is also my birthday. If Barefax is open then it may be it though being located in downtown, it may not be the best choice (likely full of drunk loud crowd). I hope that Pigale will be open too.

I agree. Not sure why you are making negative comments like this about Barbs Bigpoppa or what makes you to say all these but they have the best looking ladies and likely have provided a relatively safe place for these ladies to work, so kudos to them. Yes maybe a bit of attitude on the part of owner(s) and some staff but the fact is that they are still among the top SCs in NCR. We are in the process of making a constructive debate here and trying to find a possible solution to a couple of issues. Please start a thread of your own if you have an account to settle with Barbs!!.

waterat, great suggestion and I agree but HOW can we help to improve the environment at Barbs specifically?. It is my understanding that there are two issues here. One is the the (too) open and resulting lack of privacy (and there must be a balance with dancer safety) and the second is the staff (or owner) with attitudes. Do we contiinue to spend our hard earned dollars where we don't get value or get attitudes in return or do we make another attempt to convey the message to the owner(s)? Or another option that I don't know of? I also completely agree that if Barbs closes it will never re-open. Like Fanny's in the market closed for good. That used to be a great place too a dozen years ago with beautiful dancers. On your last point, I am surprised to read that there are too many people not approving of strip bars. A latest poll suggests that 2 out of 3 Canadian support full legalization of prostitution so we do live in a relatively open minded, advanced society. You may be right though as I don't know of any poll on approve/disapprove of strip bars.

I completely understand your sediments Nighflight. I have been a regular Barbs customer for 10 years too. And I hate to witness it going down. Cerbites commented post after post on how quiet Barbs has become recently in this thread. I proposed having a more private CRs as a possible way to reverse the demise and started a debate on the subject last week and several cerbites posted and agreed that having more private CRs may help to attract more crowd. One of our friends conveyed (or tried to convey) that message to Mr. Personality which apparently has a thick head and totally unconcerned about his customers' legitimate needs (I say legitimate because we pay for private dances and we deserve to get what we pay for). Witnessing that apparently logic doesn't pay off with Barbs stuff then I proposed maybe he can learn in time the hard way as he will gradually lose his customers and his best girls to other clubs as apparently has been the trend. I said that I follow other customers and change to another bar as I have done so already. But later proposed that Barbs stays as is because one popular (and our favorite) dancer posted from a dancer's perspective and spoke of sexually related abuse cases when CRs are not open in the other clubs. That statement hit me hard in my conscious and reversed my earlier statements saying that we need at least one bar which provides a more conservative comfort levels for some dancers who need it so Barbs should stay as is. That said however, we can't have it both ways in my view. Some of us can't spend our hard earned dollars in a place where what we get is attitude from owner rather than the privacy we pay for and ask for, knowing that we can have what we ask for, in other clubs not far from Barbs. Our favorite dancers of course can move too if they don't really make any money (which I doubt that it is that bad btw) as a few have done so already however they can't have it both ways either. It is my view that safety is above all. If open CR does provide the safer environment you desire, then my suggestion is by all means stay where you feel safer as there is NO dollar value on safety. As for hobbyists to support your favorite dancers at Barbs by all means, I commend you on your intent and wish you all the best.

You may be right General. I was thinking the same way, however, I am basing my latest comments on what Bridgette wrote in her post and to my understanding she was saying she had a much harder times with sexually related abuse cases at Barefax (and that is not acceptable) and relatively much fewer cases at Barbs because of the open CRs. So that statement coming from a dancers who worked at both places made me thinking and reassess my earlier statements calling for privacy at CRs. Also it is likely logical to think that patrons in the CRs behave themselves more (the minority aggressive or drunken ones) when everybody can see their every move like at Barbs.

Actually I have been thinking about this and the posts by Bridgette and Phaedrus and maybe it is a good thing that we have at least one bar with open CR like Barbs so that those ladies who wish to be dancers only and feel safe have at least one place safe to dance without being pushed by minority forceful or drunken patrons and that will be Barbarellas as a safe haven free from possible abuses. A dancer has the right to work as dancer and earn a living without having to do what she does not want or feel like it and do what does not qualify as dance and right now it appears that Barbs is the place for it. Those who wish to provide extras can move to other bars as well those patrons who like total privacy like me or want extras like some minority others can move too to other bars. I will be coming back to Barbs maybe in a few months but for now I think the change to Barefax and Pigale works for me fine.

I met Carys this afternoon too. Her safe GFE ad plus being student and her pale pictures attracted me to contact her, So, I contacted her via PM here on cerb and though she usually doesn't work weekends but she made an exception for me. Her very light blue eyes was the first thing I noticed about Carys upon her arrival and later I noticed also her pale skin and friendly personality. I saw lots of beautiful girls last Friday when there was a Christmas party there. So, I went back to Barefax again this afternoon. Well it was crowded with lunch hour crowd but nothing chaotic as last Friday. I was able to find a seat near stage. Dancers were not as many or as beautiful as last Friday but still plenty around. I saw a familiar friendly face walking towards me and that was my long time favorite Kitty. We chatted and then had dances together. Very emotionally intimate dances in the privacy of Barefax CR with Kitty (and of course those who know Kitty like I do will know as a fact that with Kitty it is her very kind and nice personality and hugs and kisses rather than anything extra which I never ask nor will she offer. Just wished to make this clear). Then I saw a very familiar face but I couldn't remember her name. Once on the stage and the DJ called her name WOW that was my good old friend Tamika. We used to be friends 6 - 7 years ago but that is a long time. So after her stage dance she came to me and we kissed and hugged and chatted but I wanted to do that in private (the CR) so we went upstairs). Tamika still has that very cute face, small very cute body and very kind friendly face. She is a natural cutie. Once she came on stage people started moving to sit next to the stage. She is what I classify as GFE dancer. I really felt I was there with my girlfriend. So much of real intimate hugs and emotional kisses and conversing about our personal lives and family. Nothing extra or anything and definitely nothing sexual just deep emotions and kisses on that very cute face and I had one of my best times ever in a CR with Tamika today and at the end I lost the count but she told me an honest low number of counts of songs (she could have charged me twice but she didn't). We also chatted about the good old days without fearing that people will hear us and kissed without fear that someone may see us. Thumbs up for Barefax and Tamika for giving me privacy and wonderful time. As for the CRs they are totally private (in all 30 - 40 minutes I was there nobody checked on us. May be because it was daytime) and good lighting in the CR (though they can change the color from blue to white or yellow even) and there were plenty of them upstairs. Oh, Btw NO cameras there. I did go to Barefax again this afternoon instead of the usual Barbs (Christmas time so it is easy to sneak out from work) and I had a fantastic time. The time I had in the bright totally private CR with LONG songs was my best in the llong time and no comparison with Barbs. Between 2001 and 2008 I was a regular at Barbs (once or twice a week) and made friends with many dancers there (almost all gone) and exchanged news and info with. The CRs were completely private, though I seldom heard of sexually related abuses by customers but I did hear about customers refusing to pay enough or being rough (scratching with nails for example) or having bad hygiene. There are regulations in place in the club not to mention the very clear law in place that money exchange for sex or solicitation in public place are both criminal so both are clear deterrence. I do agree with you that in spite of all these abuse is still possible. So may be more enforcement of the existing club regulations rather than making a cattle pen like totally open CRs would be a better answer. It was the city bylaw that made them to change the CR and they did go too far with it so what the guy is saying that if it was up to him he would have returned to table dances (which by the way were $5 per song and not $20) and rejecting proposals without listening shows some attitude on his part which btw having attitude towards customers has been a long time issue with Barbs staff (not dancers).

Well first off thanks for the attempt Reddog. Obviously he has a thick head and/or might have misunderstood our reasons being for more privacy for so called private dances to thinking that we are asking for extras which most of us will never do (totally illegal in a public place). Also he clearly failed to see our positive intentions for making CR change recommendation to save this favorite club from possible demise!!. Apparently he doesnt mind losing his customers (and money) to other clubs either, as this has been the trend recently. He may not know it but he is also losing some high quality dancers to other clubs or may be he does but he doesn't care? Anyways I for one will switch to Barefax as apart from Bridgette I don't have any favorite dancer at Barbs whom I cannot see in other club(s). As for Barbs CRs, though nothing will happen in near future and they still will be able to attract both quality dancers and customers sole credit to their location rather than good management or business decisions, however, I see a good chance that eventually the message will get across and hit them, in a hard way!!.

Yes I agree 100%. I was clear in my post that I see dancers at my home. Just to clarify further I have never seen MPs or know any SPA to write about as I am not into massages. I also see escorts but outcall only.

I am outcall only to my home and as it was said it is legal. As for safety, it depends. If you are limiting yourself to cerb providers it is relatively safe though if you extend your providers to those indies (if they are really indies) on BP for variety (as I do) then it may not be safe for total strangers visiting your private home especially if someone is waiting outside for her or in the lobby so screen them out carefully before deciding. For agencies, those established agencies advertising on BP like PKE, EH, MB, ALLD ..... are safe to call too. For those agencies advertising on the notorious site (OatN) be extra careful and screen them also carefully. As for how to contact, On cerb, I usually contact them via PM and my only concern is to find out if we are compatible for a date. On BP if email available I contact them via email with lots of questions and then call them with more questions and add conditions there for the date to go ahead to ensure safety and legality. Whenever you call them, do not block your call. This sends red flag to providers. Remember they take much higher risks than you when they come over to your place.

There is a standard charge of $20 per song in the CR. It is a common understanding that the standard charge apply to all dancers. Therefore I never ask dancers prior as how much the dance will be. In the past I have been charged for more songs than I have had (in one case I had 2 and a half dances and the dancer claimed it was 5 and asked for $100) but never charged for more than $20 per song unless I tip the dancer myself. Btw I hate it when dancer starts in the middle of a song. This raises a red flag for overcharge and I usually stop the dance soon when dancer does this. What to do is not to pay or bring this to the attention of management if the overcharge is substantial as in your case. Same action that dancer would have taken if you had refused to pay the usual fee.
