I would think this filters out unwanted late night calls, repetitive queries from tire kickers and those not likely to follow through with an appointment, At the end of the day, if you do go ahead and make plans to meet, you will get the SP's number anyway.

While it is nice to get a note, it is not necessary and I would never be offended if I did not receive one.

Stay away from sites that have bad reputations. Trust your gut, read CK's diary and the reco's on this site. Hopefully you will navigate your way through the early stages of nervousness and apprehension and enjoy yourself. Treat the ladies with respect and like many others here, share your opinions and recommendations.

I too am surprised that the momentum from this thread has not died down. The bottom line is that like Carrie says, she likes the freedom to work when she pleases, to charge as she pleases and to make a business decision, hers and hers alone. That is why people in all walks of life, where they are able, chose to go into business for themselves. In terms of pricing and undercutting the market, this discussion/forum should in my opinion be a private conversation between SPs only. At the end of the day, reputation, reviews and level of service will determine the amount of business an SP will do.

I am a hobbiest. I firmly believe that in most cases, you get what you pay for. Quality comes with a price. This is not always the case, there are "good deals" in all walks of consumerism. That being said, the question here seems to be "should I be looking out for myself and set whatever price will attract clients or should I be conscious of the greater good of the collective group of SP's and be consistent with local pricing?" This is a difficult decision and is likely based on many factors which, we as a whole without knowing all the facts can judge. I would certainly have doubts about a provider offering ridiculously low prices as compared to the regional norm. I understand that we are talking about people's livelihood's here, so I can see why some of the comments have been heated. My advice is the cream will always rise to the top and those that provide consistently good service will be reviewed positively and recommended to others and that ultimately will benefit their business and their bottom line.

I think what may getting lost here is the original query regarding some responses to posts that you feel either belittle the poster or come to the defense of an SP or come with a sense of superiority. Agreed. These exist on this site and likely any other board where there are people of varying opinions. Yes, there are times when I am reading a post, I see a response that seems petty, as if the responding poster is the arbiter of CERB and feels the need to correct or admonish. This could happen anywhere. I would argue that 99 per cent of the posts are positive and informative and you have to outweigh this with the odd negative posting. The other motive here is that you could be simply stirring the pot as evidenced by the number of responses to your original post and subsequent responses.

Giving or receiving?

I am sure many providers offer the service. As a paying customer, it behooves you to ask questions to make sure the SP provides you with the best experience possible. They may not be able/willing to do all that you ask, but if you ask politely I am sure no offence will be taken. An open dialogue is the best way to ensure a positive experience.

Pistol is correct. I should have started the thread with Cerb is a recommendation board. However, negative recos are not allowed. CK's diary is a great opportunity to save someone from getting ripped off, or sucked in to a bait and switch situation, and for that, I am happy that such a research tool exists.

I know that CERB is a review board and that negative posts are discouraged. If someone asks for info on a Service Provider and there is a response that says check out the Cowboy's diary, is that the same as posting a negative review? As a fan of the diary, I appreciate the research and feedback that CK provides. I am curious what others think on the subject.

Must agree with Hat, the start of the thread covered all that needed to be covered. Liked it, should have stopped right there. I am not sure that high necessarily means better service or better quality. In cities such as New York where rents are ridiculously high, I can see why there may be a premium charged. However, it might also be the case where the SP is trying to weed out a certain level of clientele. It could also be the case that they are only prepared to see a few gentlemen a week and thus can charge more. Whether there is sufficient supply of gentlemen prepared to pay the fee is another question altogether. I imagine there are more affluent men who prefer to pay more knowing that there are very few that can afford a certain rate and therefore gives them a sense of empowerment.

I used to receive emails from previous ladies I had seen. These ladies were the type who toured a significant amount of the time and would send me reminders that they were coming to Ottawa and how much they would love to see me. The emails were always part of thread that I had started when I originally saw this person. Some were 3-4 years old! I politely asked that the threads be deleted and that any contact should be initiated from my end. In one case, the unsolicited emails continued for quite some time, until finally a rude and to the point email was sent. I also received one once which was a reply all. Thank god my email address was non descript. There were many that had first and last names and places of employment, I was mortified for those gentlemen.

It's has to be quality over quantity in most cases. I might however, be suspicious of an outstanding review where the poster is making his first comments.

My first thought in reading your post was "uh oh, this guy is going to get reamed out. A member for 3 years posting this". However, the advice from Emily was sweet and nicely worded as were the comments from the others. Hopefully you have navigated around this site enough to know where to find what you are looking for. If not, I would suggest going through SP ads over the pst few days or weeks and follow up with the ones who meet your criteria and see if you are able to set something up for tomorrow. I realize this request was made some time ago. I have seen Enigma several times. Twice in Toronto and once in Ottawa. She is Russian, attractive and very sexual. I saw her alone. I am sure she would be great with a couple as well. As an aside, I have seen Monicadd many times and she is outstanding and my all time favorite SP.

I have followed the process and am appalled, but not surprised at the sense of entitlement particularly in the cases of Wallin and Duffy. Duffy in particular disgusts me with his attempt to profit from his appointment as a Senator from PEI, while living almost full time in Ottawa. He should have admitted his error, paid back the money, apologized and the issue likely would have died down. Being the asshole that he is, he refused and brought on all the ensuing damage and bad press. I am personally in favor of abolishing the Senate. Does anyone care???

They probably use that line because they are either shy or embarrassed to admit that they are seeking your services on their own. That being said, I would hope that they would do a little research before simply making a call and asking all sorts of questions whose answers can be found on CERB or a website. Time is money and I can understand your frustration in posting an ad with a fairly comprehensive description of your services and looks only to have to answer these questions again.

Nothing is more awkward than answering "who was that?" if you are with someone. If a knowing glance or smile or conversation takes place, no matter how brief, you are definitely putting the other party in a potentially difficult situation. Keep walking and resist the urge if there is one because you can only do more harm than good. If you feel bad about ignoring them, text, pm or communicate privately at a later date.
