1. Reading a good book right now about cocks. Seriously. God's Doodle: The Life and Times of the Penis By Tom Hickman "The story of the penis -- a brilliant history of the male member that tells you EVERYTHING you wanted to know but were too shy to ask. Throughout history man has revered his penis as his 'most precious ornament'. Yet, ambivalently, his penis has always been the source of man's deepest neuroses too. Do women find it, in the erect state, inherently ridiculous? Why can't a man be certain his penis will stand and deliver when he commands? If and when it steadfastly refuses, what can he do to remedy the situation? And then, of course, there's the matter of size... To possess a penis, Sophocles said, is to be 'chained to a madman'. God's Doodle examines the schizophrenic relationship between man and this madman -- and the joint relationship this odd couple has with the female sex. God's Doodle is the tale of the penis and the ups and downs of history -- the macabre and the bloodcurdling, the funny and the sad, distilled from myth, world cultures, religion, literature, science, medicine and contemporary life -- all told with mordant wit."
2. Let's also keep in mind that the focus of CKs diary is Bait and Switch and sometimes potentially dangerous situations. These things are allowed to be posted on CERB too. There is an actual section for this for almost all cities, but it hardly ever gets used. I think these areas could be used much more than they currently are, since B&S/perceived danger covers a lot of the most serious issues with providers. CK doesn't post negative reviews or subjective information about ladies. The info he posts is not usually a matter of opinion, which "reviews" are. That's the difference. While I am not in favour of "review" sites, I do think that getting out information about b&s/dangerous situations is important, and will only benefit the honest providers, the honest gentlemen, and the industry overall. This is not the same as posting negative (and often hurtful) reviews about perceived appearances, services, expectations, etc, which are all always subjective and always YMMV. (And btw, life is YMMV. The phrase existed long before online escort communities.) I don't know about others, but just from casual browsing, I find it pretty easy to figure out by looking at ads, websites, photos, recos, etc who is legit and who's probably not. I don't understand why it's so hard for others to figure this out. And I find it unfortunate that there is still people who think it's appropriate to publicly post about such intimate, and subjective matters having to do with another fellow human being who may just have had a bad day or didn't like the cut of your jib. Thankfully, for the perfection-seekers, the sex-robots will be here soon enough! ;)

4. I grew up an only child, and while I had lots of friends, it still meant there was lots of time for me to be alone. Reflecting on this over the last few years, I am very grateful for it. It really gave me my strong sense of independence and ability to be completely content being alone. I don't need to rely on others for any reason, and I never get lonely or bored. I do lots of stuff alone and it doesn't phase me one bit. There are definitely some parts of my life up to now when I was more social than solitary, but I am definitely at a stage now where I truly prefer to be alone (well, at least alone with my fur babies!) :) I do like people, and I am easily sociable in the right settings, but I prefer it to be in small doses, and to spend the majority of my time doing my own thing. There was a really great episode a couple months ago of DNTO, one of my favourite radio shows about this exact topic called "What happened when you found yourself "going solo"..."Most of us avoid being by ourselves if we can help it. From dining alone to travelling alone to being left at home by ourselves - it's something we've all faced. But sometimes, when we're forced to be on our own, we can surprise ourselves." Really cool stories from a variety of people. It's available online and on podcast to hear: http://www.cbc.ca/dnto/episode/2013/09/26/what-happened-when-you-found-yourself-going-solo/
5. Be careful if using "Let it Snow" wrapping paper this xmas. ;)
6. I just watched a cute little flick, The Way Way Back - Steve Carrell, Toni Collette, Allison Janney, Sam Rockwell. Good cast; I laughed, I cried. Not a brilliant masterpiece for the ages or anything, but certainly authentic and enjoyable. :)
7. I got a 40 :) Not bad, I wouldn't argue with the result.
8. Miss Midnite!! I always love reading your sexy and insightful posts! Keep em comin! :cooter: xoxo

10. It's also probably a mis-match of needs and wants in the "singles marketplace". When a woman is paying for a service, she knows what she is getting: a professional who will make her feel special and beautiful, and make her the centre of attention. Male escorts are usually very cultured, can offer good conversations, and of course highly skilled in the bedroom. They're usually above average in their appearance too, and of course will have impeccable hygiene and style. They will give their clients whatever they want and desire, take them wherever they want to go, without complaint. They will eat their client's pussy (with skill) for two hours straight and expect nothing in return. They are not just some random joe-schmoe you'd find on POF or a bar where you don't know what you'll be getting. There's also some of the same reasons why men seek escorts: discretion and privacy. Many women seeking services are married and need to be sure that it's strictly a professional relationship where boundaries will be respected and personal feelings won't come into play. Or maybe she is a well-known figure within the community and needs a high-level of privacy in her sex life. I have plenty of gentleman clients who I have no doubt could easily "get it for free" as you put it, but choose professional escorts for these same reasons. Even though some people don't think that escorting is a true profession, it is, and a professional paid companion is not going to offer the same experience as a random lady you'd find online or at a bar. When one is being paid for their time, there is different expectations and it's all about "the client", female or male. This reminds me of when I first posted my recommendation of Il Re, CERB's favourite male MA. After that, I got an onslaught of random dudes sending me messages about "why did you PAY? I could give you a massage for FREE!". Great. The thing is.. they are not professionals and can't offer me the same thing as Il Re. The quality of massage certainly wouldn't match. Plus he will do anything I ask him, and I can be the centre of attention for a bit, relax, and offer nothing but payment in return. He will come over when I ask him to, do what I want him to and then leave me alone. He won't brag to his buddies about it, he won't tell my friends the freaky shit I did, he won't text me incessantly the next day asking when I want to hang out again or show up at my place unexpectedly. A successful professional in this business needs to have a certain personality, presentation, appearance, and overall presence. These are real benefits that come with a professional. A non-pro might say "ya! i can do that too!", and maybe some can, but just as any other service industry, getting an amateur to do it for free is simply not the same as hiring a professional.

12. A look into the criminalization of sex work in Canada Criminal Code of Canada continues to create unsafe working conditions. Written by Cem Ertekin, Nina Jaffe-Geffner and Juliana Hayden http://www.mcgilldaily.com/2013/11/a-look-into-the-criminalization-of-sex-work-in-canada/ November 11, 2013
â??In order to avoid getting arrested, theyâ??ll just hop into someoneâ??s car as soon as they stop so that they can avoid being charged with communication. That has been reported as increasing the dangers towards people who are working,â? Robyn Maynard told The Daily when speaking on the current legal restrictions that risk the safety and dignity of sex workers. Maynard is a street worker with the community-based initiative Stella, a â??by sex workers for sex workersâ?? group that strives to provide resources to, and improve the health and safety conditions of, sex workers. Currently, being a sex worker in Canada is legal; however, certain sections of the Criminal Code of Canada (CCC) restrict the freedom with which sex workers can operate. According to Article 210 of the CCC, â??Every one who keeps a common bawdy-house is guilty of an indictable offence and liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years.â? However, according to Maynard, the consequences of Article 210 have the potential to profoundly affect the livelihoods of sex workers. â??A lot of women like to work together with a larger group of people, so that they can work with security,â? Maynard told The Daily, â??but this was made illegal by 210, which means people can be evicted, lose their apartments, and be charged criminally just for being in a place where theyâ??re working.â? According to Maynard, this also means the workers are less likely to keep condoms and other safe sex materials onsite, for fear of the materials being used as evidence against them in a criminal charge for being found in a bawdy-house. Among other things, Article 212 of the CCC makes it illegal for third parties to procure or solicit sex workers for clients, and makes â??enticing another person to engage in prostitutionâ? illegal. â??Thereâ??s a part of [Article] 212 called â??living off the availsâ?? that makes it illegal for women who are working in the sex industry [to] hire security [... or] a receptionist to screen their calls,â? Maynard said. â??[There are many] things that people put in place for their safety. [These are] currently illegal and treated the same as, say pimping, or exploitation, which no one is fighting to decriminalize. Theyâ??re also treated as one and the same under the law.â? Article 213, on the other hand, details the restrictions of sex work, limiting solicitation in â??public places.â? Sex workers may not receive clients in the same place more than once. As a consequence, time and space for consensual agreements become limited. â??[Article 213 essentially] makes it illegal for people to actually discuss any of the details around sexual services, whether thatâ??s negotiating condom use, or even taking time to talk with the client to feel out if this is somebody that they would or would not like to see,â? said Maynard. Some strides are beginning to make way. In 2009, sex workers Terri-Jean Bedford, Amy Lebovitch, and Valerie Scott brought forward their case, which came to be known as Bedford v. Canada, to court in Toronto. After a year of deliberation, in 2010, Justice Susan Himel struck down these articles on the grounds that they were in violation of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. The federal government later appealed the decision. In 2012, the Ontario Court of Appeals struck down the bawdy-house provisions as unconstitutional; however, it maintained that Article 213 â?? which deals with solicitation â?? did not go against the Charter. The applicants of Bedford v. Canada, which is currently on appeal at the Supreme Court of Canada, argue that these articles directly violate the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, Section 7 of which reads, â??Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of the person and the right not to be deprived thereof except in accordance with the principles of fundamental justice.â? In addition, the applicants also claimed that the CCC makes their right to communicate with their clients illegal, and that this is another violation of the Charter, which is supposed to protect â??freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression.â? â??A lot of those laws that seem like theyâ??re for womenâ??s rights [...] actually have extremely negative effects in terms of the working conditions and safety of sex workers,â? said Maynard. â??Those laws are not being brought forward by sex workers â?? theyâ??re being brought forward by people who want sex workers to not exist in general.â?
14. Harlotry: What Iâ??ve Learned About Money (And Self Worth) From Sex Work By Harlotry http://www.thegloss.com/2013/11/11/sex-and-dating/sex-work-money-self-esteem/#ixzz2kaocxA9i
Thereâ??s a common assumption that all sex workers are very rich or very poor. You hear about poor, put-upon street workers or ballinâ?? out of control escorts and dominatrices. Neither of these is the norm, in my experience. Most of us are comfortably middle class. Granted, we do achieve that coveted dying privilege earlier in life than many of our peers, but it doesnâ??t change the fact that we mostly live pretty normal lives. The thing that sex work does give us, though, is great money management skills. The thing about sex work is that one week you can take home multiple thousands of dollars, but the next week you can make nothing at all. This means a few things. Firstly, it means you have to grow some budgeting and self-control skills. You canâ??t go out and buy a pair of Louboutins or a fur coat or whatever on a week you made three grand, because who knows what the hell youâ??ll be making the next week. You have to save, for taxes, rainy days, and dry spells. It may be tempting to look at all the zeros in your bank account and decide you can afford to splurge on something ridiculous, but it isnâ??t a good idea to make a habit of it because you donâ??t know when youâ??re going to need those zeros to survive. Secondly, and most importantly, it means that one absolutely can not tie earnings to self worth or self perception. ...Read more: http://www.thegloss.com/2013/11/11/sex-and-dating/sex-work-money-self-esteem/#ixzz2kap61i00
