If you look towards the bottom right of each post, you'll see you have a button to "thank" it and another one to "nominate" it. Both are ways to acknowledge that someone has written something that you either found helpful or informative, or that you agree with. Typically, a nominating a post seems to be considered a larger acknowledgment (plus, every couple weeks whichever post has received the most nominations is recognized by MOD).

I certainly don't think any lady should be pressured to change her rates. I can't imagine trying to negotiate for her time and applaud those that say doing so gets a guy immediately ignored. As you say, you know what your time is worth to you. I suspect you'll find that either the fellows telling you this are either exaggerating or the experience is very different. All that said, I also think it important not to assume that anyone charging less than you is doing so out of pressure or outdealing. Just like you are rightfully insulted if someone accuses you of asking too much...isn't it a little unfair to assume that someone who charges less "thinks so little of themselves". No doubt there's also someone out there who asks for a much higher amount than you. I imagine you wouldn't like that person telling you that you clearly don't think well of yourself. :) Anyway, I do agree it's a problem if ladies are being pressured to charge less than what they ask or think is right. I just think it's worth being a little careful not to automatically judge, as at the end of day, each lady has a right to run her life and business and time as she sees fit. Anyway, I know that wasn't your intent. To your question, I think your suspicion is right that those who respond to your donation amount by arguing others charge less are just trying to sway you. It's a shame you and other ladies have to deal with that nonsense! :(

Kubrick, there's reason to argue the Constitution shouldn't be easily or lightly changed, but if you truly think it's completely static (or should be) then you're missing some obvious examples. I mean, I'm assuming you wouldn't argue that new amendments should never be added, else you'd have to be unhappy with the one that abolished slavery. Or maybe you're okay with adding amendments but not ever repealing or adjusting? Of course, if that's the case, then you'd have to argue that the amendment prohibiting alcohol should still be around. As far as freedom goes, it's worth pointing out the addition of the 13th amendment and the repeal of the 18th could be said to have increased liberty. Besides, you can have gun control without changing the second amendment at all. Arguments that politicians want to "take away all your guns" or "abolish the second amendment" are BS and scare tactics. I mean, unless you think prisoners in jail should be able to buy and carry guns, or an 8 year old should be able to walk into a cornerstore and walk out with an assault rifle, then you too believe in at least some level of gun control. My point is, it is possible to acknowledge the achievement of historical politicians and documents and the good they've done but also recognize that they weren't perfect and didn't know everything.

Short answer: Yes. Somewhat longer answer amounting the same thing: While of course chemistry and other factors will influence your experience, Lyla is indeed a terrific resource if you're looking for reassurance that someone is genuine and safe. Ottawa in particular seems to be very active on this board, so you'll have quite a bit of reading you can do in the recommendations section to help you seek out someone you'd likely enjoy time with. And many lady's are active on the board, and reading their posts helps give one a great sense of their personality and style. Enjoy your visit!

I don't begrudge anyone advertising on BP. For good or ill, it's where most of the attention is and what most people have heard about, and it's the reality we have to live with. It's also why many folk try to promote boards, to try to keep the balance at least somewhat in check. But oh yes, how I find it so much more reassuring when a lady has a presence here. For one, I find chemistry ends up being better as it lets you get a better sense of the person and whether you're likely to mess. BP has many pictures (and I won't deny I like myself a lovely photo) but it just seems so...two dimensional and superficial in comparison. But mostly if a lady advertises/has a presence here, or their own website, then I'm much more confident the person is professional, safe, honest, and engaging. I do browse BP ads, but without someone at least having a couple recommendations here, but I've never met anyone from there who didn't also have a presence or at least recommendations elsewhere. BP or Boards, you ask? Let's put it this way: have you noticed that half the threads on Lyla are people asking about a BP ad seeking reassurance? On the flipside how many BP posts have you seen where someone is asking about the authenticity of a Lyla lady? I'd say that tells you all you need to know! :)
