  1. Font...choose wisely. The origin of the term "giving head"?
  2. ASDR, in your last post you asked for proof that when people make comments it's because they are saying what they truly believe and not just to earn "thanks" or are pretending to be a gentleman. I believe that you ask this question sincerely, but doesn't it seem a bit of an odd one? Why is the burden of proof on me to prove to you that I say what I believe? And how something like that be proven or unproven? I think it's unfortunate that your outlook is that when a bunch of people--men and women--offer posts that promote respect and understanding, you assign ulterior and negative emotions. Is it truly so unrealistic to think that men and women can just simply on topics? I admit I do sometimes start to skim a thread when someone asks a question or makes a point, and it seems like twelve people give the same answer in different words, but that doesn't mean that each of those twelve people weren't saying what they mean. It's also useful because it shows what the prevailing view is (or at least seems to be). It's also the nature of forums. The whole reason people come hear is to express their opinion and read others, so it's a bit silly to be surprised or annoyed when they do so. :) Consider this, is it not simply more likely that if you notice that most posters get along, support each other, promote an understanding and suggest guidelines that makes this business as happy to everyone as possible, etc that this is because the board has simply attracted those type of people over time? (now to sit back and wait for the thanks to roll on in!!!...oh crap, did I type that! ;) )
  3. Would this be of help? http://www.bizzntech.com/2009/09/30/convert-website-into-pdf
  4. Zoro, I hope this doesn't count as backlash, but in this my sympathies are with the lady. Now, I too will sometimes send a hello or good wish to a lady I have seen, but if they have the time and interest to reply back I consider that a bonus, not an expectation. You ask "is it so hard to reply back with a hi"....well, yes, for some maybe it is. You point out that you are busy but still have time to chat with friends on Facebook. But surely you must see for the that the relationship the ladies have with us gents here is not in any way the same as your buddies on Facebook? Now, I'm not saying some don't become friends in a way, and it's not like there aren't conversations that happen. But again, that's a bonus when it does! It seems to me that a lot of grief and hurt that happens is when people have expectations that don't get met. You asked an honest question, but the answer I think is that, in this case, the expectation may be unrealistic. To be frank, when a lady shares her time with us we are not buying the right to her friendship. And if a lady doesn't have time to carry on pleasantries with every past client that is her right. And consider this, if they do give a quick hello back, does that not just encourage future messages? If there is no time or interest in such, isn't it better just to make that clear early? Again, I'm not saying you're wrong to offer the occasional hello or see if someone wants to have a conversation. But they are not wrong or even rude if they don't want to take you up on it. Best.
  5. I believe what you're after is under the User CP: look under "Settings and Options" on the lefthand side of the screen and select "Edit Options". At that point there is a section for "Messaging & Notification".
  6. Ug. Easier said than done, but try not to let it get you down. You know that's exactly the reaction such people want so don't give them the satisfaction! Instead--if you deign to spend any thoughts on them at all--think about how miserable their life must be that this is how they act.

    Whoops...

So typically once I log into Cerb the body of the screen shows the most recent 10 posts or so. Off to the left I can choose to "see more" and change how many display to the last 20, 30, 100, or change to show a different category. I went to click the "view more" option but think I missed and chose an option just under that. Next thing I know a pop up appears briefly but is gone before I have a chance to read it, and now I no longer see the recent posts on the homepage. It's just the shout box and album pictures and then right to the different forum categories (by province, etc.), and I don't see the recent posts at all. I'm assuming there's gotta be somewhere I can just click it right back on, but for the life of me I can't find it. I'm just hoping it's not so obvious that I feel silly if someone can point me to it.
  8. It looks like there are a couple recommendations for her on the Ottawa thread... http://71.6.170.35/vbulletin/showthread.php?ltr=G&t=167705
  9. Il Re makes a good point that puppy mills and such are on a whole other level from licensed breeders. Some of them are the biggest animal lovers one could find, after all. For my two cents, I think the bigger change has to come from those who want the pet...that is, the demand side of the equation. As long as people are willing to pay $$$ for breeder dogs, there are going to be breeders. Whatever anyone says or feels, I think it's fair to say that's the reality. But if people were more inclined to adopt from a shelter instead, and the demand (and so profit) for breeders went away, that's where you'd see big reductions in animals having to be euthanized.
  10. Meg, I'm sorry you had such a rough experience. Glad you're OK! I think people should keep hope though. People seem to always think other people are getting worse over time. Have you ever heard the quote: "The children now love luxury. They have bad manners, contempt for authority, they show disrespect to their elders.... They no longer rise when elders enter the room. They contradict their parents, chatter before company, gobble up dainties at the table, cross their legs, and are tyrants over their teachers." Sound like kids today? Yet that line is generally attributed to Socrates and is over 2000 years old. There are bad people out there. And some things do get worse. But I find I can stay happier by trying to focus on the positive. Consider, if you go back just a generation or two, if a husband beat up his wife society would turn a blind eye and stay hushed about it much more than it does today. And while discrimination is still undeniably entrenched, our society has made amazing progress in terms of racism, sexism, and homophobia. Basically, when we talk of "people now-a days", there's as much good as bad depending on your focus, and our memories of the past are often through rose-tinted glasses. Don't get me wrong, there is rudeness and apathy out there a plenty. But just as some things get worse other things tend to improve, and there are and will always be many wonderful folk out there as well. All we can each do is our own little part and try to focus on the good...not that a little fist shake and justified rant doesn't feel good now and then too! :)
  11. Yeah, that's one of those movies that knows just what it is. Not going to win any Oscars, but good for some mindless fun and a bit of nostalgia. Apparently the 3rd one is going to add Antonio Bandaras, Wesley Snipes, Mel Gibson, and Harrison Ford to the cast!
  12. Hmm, hadn't really thought about it before but I suppose the professional ones probably catch my eye a bit more, at least initially. Someone else said they thought they all look the same, but I find the pose in the selfies tend to be mostly similar, whereas the professionally taken ones more often are at interesting angles, play with the light, and *can* be more artistic. It's certainly not a hard rule, as there are undeniably plenty of selfies that are eye-catching, and professional shots that seem less authentic due to being overly photo-shopped. At the end of the day, I think the lady in the picture (looks and personality) is going to be more important than the method by which the it was taken.
  13. Most potholes I don't mind just ducking around; it's the potholes on the bridges that get me worried! :)
  14. Don't be too sad, your doctor could have told you to cut out the blow jobs!
