I wonder how "Richard" would react to a weightless environment? Upon reflection he's a left-leaning character just like his owner, a kind but, through and through radical. PatrickGC

Ultimately C.-36 will be overturned on a multitude of grounds, not least of which, is that it interferes with a person's right to safety in society. By effectively distancing all concerned from legal protection. It ostracized the individual based solely on their choice of work, and literally prevents them from securing a safe work environment. It is in short a human rights disaster. The truly violent in our society are not deterred by laws, and in this case the bill actually increases their control over another person. The police are well aware of this and are therefore quietly working around this unjust law. PatrickGC

Let's see... do I have a dirty mind? Most bloody definitely! Being physically disabled society would have me be, among other things, politically correct. That would simply be far too dull of an existence. I am left leaning, both physically and mentally, as well as, in a multitude of other ways. I was at a party last night and was shocked at how calm and contained things were. Spontaneously I made the suggestion that the water supply the spiked with Ayahuasca and surprisingly the older people in the crowd got it immediately, while those 30 and under were stunned and shocked. [This was supposed to be a left wing party where the radicals gathered.] I think a dirty playful mind is essential for life :), and I will occasionally I do get into trouble. At the end of the day I find it an indispensable gift. Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, I own this dirty old mind. Whatever comes out of it, I take full responsibility for it. From the best in dirt the most beautiful things can grow. I have met some on the most playful and dirty minded people right here on this site. Thanks to one and all! May we play in the mental mud bath once again soon. I'd say more, but it would be censored but I'm sure the people here can fill in the blanks. Take care, PatrickGC

Cristycurves, you have pretty much summed it up. I don't think anyone will ever find a better definition of happiness! I just wanted to say thank you. This message made my day! PatrickGC

Do women really like to be spanked?
PatrickGC replied to someguy's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
The following puts a slightly different perspective on the topic of spanking or other similar activities. Not too many years ago, I was at a friends place getting ready for a party when I met her very energetic roommate. A pleasant woman, who literally burst with energy and intenseness. I knew right away, and I think anyone would, that something was amiss psychologically. In the 60s or 70s the diagnosis would have been hyperactive. As I was about to find out, she could not quiet her mind which was literally a whirlwind of thoughts. Though she was not necessarily a chaotic person, you could feel everything brewing just under the surface. She loved being spanked because the powerful physical sensation literally washed over the turmoil in her mind and briefly gave her peace. It was a good thing she had her very caring partner who really knew what they were doing. In one of the most remarkable transformations I have ever seen, while she was being spanked, very hard, her face and physical mannerisms were in a state of total bliss and she was calm. This apparently would last about 20 to 30 minutes afterward. I remember hearing along time ago about the Gate control theory which states that pleasant sensations can block [close the gate to] the transmission of pain signals in human beings. Although what I saw appeared to be the exact opposite. She was so relaxed and contented, as though she'd had some wine and was listening to beautiful music. It was simply astounding to see. I only met her once or twice before she moved back to the states. Just when you think you know the vastness of human experience, Mother nature comes along and expands the horizon just a little bit more. Food for Thought. PatrickGC -
What a tremendous message and beautiful video Isabella! It's simply took my breath away. This is humanity in a nutshell shared with all. I have a favorite asking you in this regard: Can I share this video along with your message verbatim on face book? This really is a shining light. PatrickGC

First, right on for the advocacy groups involved! Secondly, as a disabled person myself this speaks directly to me on a very fundamental level. Here we are in the 21st century and we allow the media and society at large to ostracized segments of the population solely based on their work and our ridiculous morality values. Which lets face it, have more to do with controlling and dominating a group of people, rather than keeping them safe. Because, if you want to assist in anyones safety, you in insurer that they have full access to legal and social recourses. In short, you give them the power to act on their own behalf. The other thing you do is stop perpetuating antisocial behavior in the media. On the whole the mainstream perpetuates the most infantile and stereotypical images when it comes to intimacy. Yet, we can watch people getting dismembered in a multitude of ways everywhere. The old news axiom comes to mind "Blood Sells". I would much rather live in a world where the predominant statement in the media was "Intimacy Sells", and the above article gives me hope that we just might get there. PatrickGC

Yes Roamingguy, I understand the position of the Council in this regard, and the fact that they are legally responsible at the end of the day. I know all too well, after fighting a number of my own personal legal battles with government over the years, that the site cannot afford any controversy. However at the same time I find myself getting very worried about the bigger picture of society in general. With bills like C-36, quite effectively, putting gag orders on the general discussions extending far beyond just this site. This is a trend I see in various political realms. This is what I was referring to, as well as the present situation here. I have seen huge changes over the relatively short life span of the Internet. If you remember when Windows XP was brand new and Microsoft rolled out their first automatic updates service people were gravely concerned about privacy and related issues. Today, people seem to just accept things without critical thought. That disconnection and resulting apathy tend to centralize decision-making and disempower people. If the Internet were created today in the current political and social climate with sites like this even exist? To say nothing on the Internet itself. Apologies, now I'm rambling... time to hit the hay. PatrickGC

Thank you Phaedrus for the censored word list and a link pointing to the original thread. This will come in very useful since all my messages are composed using voice dictation and then pasted into the various discussion threads. In years to come the current state of affairs I believe will be viewed in very much in the same light as the failed probation period in American history. PatrickGC

I have only one Wish, which you can think of as a magic wand if you like: "For people to find a sense of community again. From Community grows Connection, and from connection, emerges Understanding. And from that understanding, all things become responsibly possible." PatrickGC

While I'm in no position to speak to the question of posting deleted, there is a parallel concern which has cropped up since the recent legal changes in Canadian law which has had a very sad impact on this site and many others as well. That is the censorship of certain words and phrases in order to protect the site from legal prosecution. (On a side note: Is there an official list which users can referred to before writing their comments?) For all involved in this industry this is an assault on free speech and indeed hampers open and honest discussion. Canadians have lost their right to free speech, and as yet this has not been challenged. I am personally worried that this is a "slippery slope" situation which could lead to further social rights erosion. Ultimately we will see the demise of Bill C-36, but we have to find a way to discuss this openly in order to bring about this change. This is a very sad time for Canada, and one I never thought I would see. PatrickGC

I will try to get a hold of the original research the article mentions. In the meantime, it is worth mentioning that the best health benefits arise when the erotic experience a shared and not just focus on one particular aspect. Then a slew of hormonal and mental mechanisms kick in which combine heavy huge impact on health. It is the ultimate expression of a social species. The weekend coming up, so everybody, grab your friends and partners and indulge in a little of your own shared social experiment! :) PatrickGC

All the best, in what ever adventures await you. Fear not, the story Bill C-36 is far from over. Things are brewing. It will take some time (a number of years), but it will go the way of prohibition. PatrickGC -
50 Shades of Grey--the movie
PatrickGC replied to a topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Hello Summer: Haven't seen the movie myself, but it does remind me of another one in a similar vein [at least topically], I have seen. Secretary from 2002. Some call it a comedy, some call it a drama, some call it kinky, etc. it is, at the very least thought-provoking and well acted. The trailer at The Internet Movie Database does not really do it justice. But when you're next looking for something to watch this one would be worth the purchase. PatrickGC -
Just Received an awesome surprise in my e-mail .... and I mean Deliciously Awesome [add in various sensuous phrases here.] :) PatrickGC

Hi Midnight :) I find oil of oregano very beneficial for a variety of things in general. At the very least I can guarantee it will wake you up in the morning, because the taste is something you'll have to get used to. The debate as to whether it is a general purpose immune booster is ongoing. I believe greatly in the power of the subconscious mind and that what we believe on a fundamental level is really what is driving the car. In other words if you feel something is true deep down then you will tend to manifest the result, both positively or negatively. It may not matter so much what you think should happen, rather it is what you feel will happen on a gut level is the result. So for me oil of oregano knocks the stuffing out of colds. Whether it is just a placebo affect, and thereby, giving my conscious and subconscious mind "permission" to marshal the resources to kick the viruse's butt, I really don't care. Time and further research will tell. Here are two links about oil of oregano: [A wee bit, Pro and Con] HUFFINGTON POST: Oil Of Oregano Benefits: 11 Things To Know About Oregano Oil WebMD: Oil Of Oregano PatrickGC

Just a little clarification about the message I posted if you days ago in this thread. I am surmising that the board has automated scripts go through each message posted every few days and replace inappropriate phrases. Which is a wise thing to do given the current political climate however, it can occasionally create confusing text in a message. In this case I was referring to a person's "cell-phone-company" my original phrasing was different, and and was automatically changed it to the word "ESCORT" by the system. So keep that in mind when reading the above message. It is also important to note that the automatic change in text did not happen immediately upon posting, otherwise I would have noticed a change and corrected my phrasing immediately, but took a day or two do occur. what are you doing at this very minute?
PatrickGC replied to Exotic Touch Danielle's topic in Fun Threads
Trying to get a video down to a manageable size for a friend. The dang software keeps cutting off the end. Sometimes open source programs can be such a pain. The upside is that I have been on LYLA.com all night. :) PatrickGC -
May I join everyone here in wishing you an excellent birthday, as an extraordinary Bianca! Hopefully, some wonderful adventures await you. :) PatrickGC

I think the world has come to a point in history where the function and purpose of organized faith must be re-examined. (Perhaps for some for the very first time.) No longer can we afford to blindly adopted teachings of any sort with a verbatim application to life. This does not mean the loss of spiritualism, but rather, a refocusing of where the responsibilities lie. We must be, our own teachers for both the individual, the communities we live in and ultimately the world. This is a long-winded way of saying that the buck stops here on earth, with the good old human race and while we are all alive. A friend of mine asserted that: "We need religion in order to give us a moral direction." This statement, not so subtly implies that the human race needs a baby sitter and that we do not know right from wrong. I suggest, this belief was ingrained in early communities in order to control them, but that was a very different world and one that is unimaginable to the modern person. At this point in time we must find our own way and realize that the human race is indeed not in the center of the galaxy. We must grow up emotionally and not do the "right thing" because of some reward after death. Which is an inherently greedy motivation that usually backfires as current history will attest. Unfortunately, in the 21st century, people, groups and governments have come up with a new religion which once again takes responsibility for one's actions away from the individual [and people often do this willingly] it's called "Political Correctness". Different label, but on a social level it is the same animal. Again it takes responsibility away from the person. A placebo to make things comfortable for the moment. But rarely if ever solves anything. It can actually be used to do great harm but because an action is phrased in a nice politically acceptable tone people not only except it they may actually defend the action without thinking on a deeper level. Look at the crazy and insane arguments for Bill C-36. That is the phrasing of political correctness in action. In short: People must reengage their critical thinking and realize that there is no all-encompassing answer to simplify life. What we can do is be responsible for our own actions and the effect we have on others. The hereafter -- can we afford to be concerned about it, when there is so much in here and now which we can change for sure? A very interesting book on the issues raised in this thread and one which I highly recommend it is: "The End of Faith" by by Sam Harris. To be clear this is not just a believe bashing book. Rather, it asks much larger and broader questions about beliefs in general and all of the major religions are challenged as to their core motivations. I listened to the eight disk unabridged audio version. Here are the details for both printed and audio copies. PatrickGC

This is very true. However, I have seen governments do remarkable things including finding rationales to override legislation when it is in their own self-interest. It is indeed amazing how the "fine print" can be interpreted when a political need arises. So let's all be vigilant and active in this regard. PatrickGC

Sexual Assaults on Sex-trade Workers Increasing in North York
PatrickGC replied to fortunateone's topic in In the news
Well, Bill C-36 sure isn't helping because it further distances all parties concerned from access to and protection of legal rights. People can no longer speak out plainly because of the bureaucratic rats nest that has been created. Look at how the dialogue on this board has changed dramatically since December 2014. The very fact that our council has had to blackout text in older postings in order to protect users is a criminal shame. The one thing the general public forgets about is that the true criminal doesn't abide by the rules. They don't care whether something is legal or not. As a matter of fact, they probably prefer the current situation, because an SP now has less legal recourse. In the meantime the media is pushing the same old propaganda. This makes me so mad I could just scream! However I am glad that at least the Toronto police have published this bulletin and then here in Vancouver city Council has publicly criticized the effects of Bill C-36 and it looks like other cities are questioning the validity of the bill as well. PatrickGC -
I agree with Angela, and Cristy Curves. This technology while having wonderful potential is very likely to be misused in the modern world. The proposed new antiterrorism act of Canada Bill C-51 has definitions which are so broad as to allow any agency to use this software for any purpose whatsoever. This new technology would be a further assault against our personal privacy. I'm a geek by profession but I'm beginning to fear that our intoxication with speed and ease of use, for the masses, is at the expense of the individual. This only adds to the dangers imposed by Bill C-36. I am really becoming ashamed of my own government for the lack of respect it gives people of Canada. We can correct some of this at the next federal election. But in reality, it will take at least four years to formally contest C-36 before the courts. PatrickGC

There are so many possibilities here that answering your question clearly and concisely might be literally impossible. However there are a few things you might do to better the odds of this never happening again: To be on the safe side, backup your information and have your phone factory reset. This is more than just taking the battery out, and the procedure verys between brands and models. If done correctly this will take your phone back to a brand new state, as though you are turning it on for the first time. This will ensure that nothing malicious is in the phone. Then you can reload your information. Modern phones are constantly sending out information. This is where a good chunk of your data plan goes to, even if you don't surf the Internet, and by default, most phones come loaded with all sorts of software which you will never need. So if you can find someone who is very knowledgeable with your specific phone that is willing to spend time on it [i.e. not a rushed salesperson] Get them to go through the phone with you and remove all the unnecessary apps. Many apps are poorly written from a security standpoint, so the less going on the better. If your service provider is being less than cooperative about this matter consider choosing another with a high rating from the Better Business Bureau. Because it is possible that it was a screwup on your service providers end. Here in Vancouver I know of one company who has a habit of overselling phones to the point where during peak hours their entire network gets overloaded and bizarre things start to happen. Hopefully this, or other messages have helped. Take care Bianca. PatrickGC
