When it comes to safety, I think the industry is like other industries in that if you do your research and use your big head, the chances of putting yourself at risk is lowered. Those companions who are here to establish themselves, establish a solid reputation of trust and discretion, will be easy to find, easy to research/follow and will have a trail to follow.There are many well established companions to suit any taste. Check boards, websites, Twitter, Tumblr, Snapchat, Instagram etc. Avoid stolen pics, comments about party people, no limits, 24/7, etc. Constantly changing names or numbers are also flags. Yes, there are a lot of new and varied companions and many are enticing. Tineye, google image, recommendations. Also, listen to your gut. There is nothing wrong with taking a chance on someone new but if safety is your first priority, only you can determine risk. Trust in this industry comes from openness. Ladies have screening to protect themselves and are more open to those willing to provide the requested information. If you view your safety as valuable yet try to avoid screening, you're saying that the ladies safety is less important than yours and does not establish trust. A reputable lady is discrete and only wants your details to ensure her own safety. So many believe they are just waiting to blow up their lives but you have to ask yourself, to what end? That would destroy whatever business they were trying to build. It's not a perfect situation for sure but there are many things that can be done to reduce risk and ensure safety. Both sides want this and it's just a matter of meeting in the middle. Honestly, when it comes to safety, ladies put themselves more at risk than clients do. Short answer: all of the above. It's your choice what to do in the situation but most would say be polite, say no thanks and leave and don't put yourself in a potentially dangerous situation. Officers from 40 police services across the country met with sex trade workers to question them and discuss options. "Human trafficking is a crime, unfortunately, that doesn't have borders so hence the national investigation," RCMP spokesperson Const. Mark Skinner said Thursday. Sex workers contacted online by undercover officers The investigation, called Operation Northern Spotlight, took place earlier this month and included 11 women and one man in Nova Scotia, who were contacted online by police officers posing as johns. The undercover officers provided a hotel room number and questioned the prostitutes when they arrived, Skinner said. The goal of their meeting was to make sure they were aware of the dangers of their profession, he said. "Simply it was 'Hello, we are police. We know what business you're involved in and we'd like to give you some options in that respect. We want to make sure you're safe,'" Skinner said. "So certainly there was a fostering and nurturing conversation to discuss options that person could have if in the future they chose to have a profession in a different capacity," he said. Fewer sex-trade workers on the street Very few sex-trade workers in Nova Scotia work at street corners, Skinner said. Instead, most now contact johns online. Police said the prostitutes contacted in Halifax and in the greater Sydney area weren't cooperative with police. "In the particular case of the six individuals in the Halifax area, they chose to continue their activity within the sex trade industry," Skinner said. "In Cape Breton, the same." Police used the operation as a way to bring attention to the larger issue that people who work in the sex trade industry are very susceptible to human trafficking, he said. Skinner said the prostitutes were provided with police and community support group resources that are available if they have a change of heart and decide to get out of the sex trade. Police across the country made 47 arrests and laid charges for 137 offences as part of the operation.

Good morning Willtell! Your input here is appreciated, both positive and realistic. Many members here have, in some way, been part of scams, potential violence or theft, B&S and shills. There are certain 'cues" that people watch out for now. When someone points this out, it is more to bring notice than to personally attack. IMO you did the right thing by explaining the situation and this gives other members the chance to determine for themselves. This industry is all about information and yours is just as important as anyone else's. Yes, this is the old CERB site and I hope you'll continue to use it for the valuable information we have here not only for pleasure but to keep everyone safe. I know there have been many discussions on the election but this thread is to remind people to GET OUT AND VOTE tomorrow, October 19th. Our country has some serious issues and EVERY vote counts. There are some serious issues facing ALL of us in some way. Our rights and freedoms are at stake as the government seems to think they are in control and can do whatever they feel led to do at any given moment. For those of us here, tomorrow could mark a day where bad laws get repealed and we can get back to the vibrant community we once were here.
