I am of the mind that I wouldn't change things because everything I experienced, good and bad, brought me to this point and taught me something valuable. Having said that, I would have loved to have some of those lessons and some of the experiences a little earlier in life. Coming from a small town before there was internet meant many ideas and interests and life changing experiences came later in life so if I could bring some of that information back and delve into it earlier, I most definitely would. Most of the issues I have dealt with in younger years, I have tools to handle them now that I didn't then. I would listen more to myself than the warped views and beliefs of others.

I most definitely love to give and have had a few amazing people teach me to receive. I enjoy giving no doubt but the best experiences come from the dance two people do where the giving and receiving is a back and forth flow of energy that feeds on itself and fans the flames to greater heights. It's not a dance for everyone but when it's happens, it's divine!

You pose a difficult question. I think it's extremely important for people to be able to both listen to and debate within differing viewpoints about ANY topic. I think it's even more important to be able to keep ones mind open to different views and perspectives and to update your personal ones as you grown, learn and evolve. In this world of "political correctness" I don't think there's room for any of that however. The underlying thought seems to be one of "not upsetting anyone" by limiting what you say and how you say it. Tolerance and acceptance aren't the standards by which people govern themselves anymore it seems. Not to say there haven't been many trends of non acceptance, judgment and intolerance through the years but at least then there seemed to be more of an open discussion/debate where now it's more a "don't talk about that you'll upset someone" frame of mind. I think it's sad that those with differing views or opinions are threatened with violence or some sort of punishment or in some arenas, completely ignored as not important or valuable. Things are definitely broken when it comes to free speech, respect, open honest debate, tolerance and acceptance (in a broad sense). I believe the internet ushered in a new way of doing things as it gave a voice to the masses however didn't give the responsibility that goes along with it.

I think I would use the term disheartened. This new law has not only taken away the right to consensual pleasure between adults but it has taken away our freedom to talk about sex and pleasure because even if it's not about an exchange, it's about sex and could be connected. I miss the interaction and openness. I miss the acceptance and support. Yes, we're still supportive but it's surrounded by feeling like we've been stripped of something and I think many will agree, many seem on edge and prone to pounce more negatively. I've noticed a huge shift and myself have shifted to my personal blogs to make commentary. I miss the interaction and different views that we used to enjoy. There is now risk involved in doing this that's not related to stigma or not wanting so and so to know. It can impact jobs and careers and even result in jail or fines. I understand why some choose to remain in the background and it's entirely frustrating that we're at this point and I can only pray that we will get some enlightened leaders into places of power and change and rectify the wrongs slammed into place by our government. Like NorthernOntGuy said, it feels we have lost our way and the only way back is together. It's not illegal to talk about sex in general terms or to flirt and enjoy. I suppose we have to find that line.

More of the focus was on the downside but at least they had a fair number of positives to balance it out overall. Surprising.

I want to take a moment to say thank you to a very special friend of mine who is amazing not only as a person but as a supporter of what we all do here. The connection versus just focusing on the naughty aspect. It's all part of the equation. With C36 in place, he went on camera, showing his face to say how important he believes what we do is. That would take some serious thought and contemplation on a good day but today, he could be charged because he admitted it. I will send positive and supportive energy to him that he is not targeted but I expect if he is, they will have one heck of a fight on their hands. Patrick puts his money were his mouth is and I respect him so much for this and applaud him for always standing up for what's right even if it's not easy. So to him I say thank you. Thank you for being who you are, for being amazing and for being a friend :D

There are many conversations happening in the forums so feel free to jump in. There is a forum for discussing important issues or things related to the industry/hobby, related issues etc. There is also a fun forum for birthdays, milestones, and discussing random stuff. Enjoy your time and looking forward to your contributions!

It would be a nice gesture to explain the situation however you are under no obligation to do so. This is one of those grey situations because social media is such a broad outlet. Using FB as an example, you can be friends with people on there just because they are friends with your first cousin once removed best friend and they made a comment you like. Doesn't mean there is personal friendship. You also have to remember that most ladies are discreet and non judgmental regarding the situations of people so the situation may be a null point to the lady in question. Only you have the full scope of the situation and have to feel comfortable with the decision you make. It would also depend on whether the lady in question is someone who has built a reputation or some transient. That would impact your risk assessment. Good luck with everything.
