  1. I agree. It has happened where a lady is on vacation and I get a response about a week later, of course that is an exception. Although I generally don't like an "auto reply" I do think it is a good idea for an SP to do when she is on vacation.
  2. Hard to say what really happened without being there, I have to believe the flight attendants and flight crew are trained on how to react to incidents like this. Using their training and experience they took what they thought was the most prudent action. You may be right as far as the lawsuit being filed, whether they win or lose I would like to see the suit filed. I really can't stand people who think rules don't apply to them. On another note, I was getting my hair cut the other day and the lady who cut my hair said her friends went on vacation and were on that flight with the assholes. They were scheduled to come home at the time of the big snow storm. What a vacation :P
  3. Wow, lucky her to have all this attention from the Mod's and members. Hope she uses this chance wisely, I gotta believe not a lot of ladies would get this chance.
  4. Looks like they may get sued for the cost of diverting the plane. I think that would be appropriate. I don't think throwing them in jail is the answer. It appears they are well to do people in their small community so maybe they thought airline rules don't apply to them. This is a good lesson for them and others. http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2013/02/04/smoking-airplane-passengers-sunwing-bermuda_n_2615999.html
  5. Interesting that I've never been asked to take my shoes off (flying within Canada). I always thought it was just Americans who did that out of habit.
  6. Interesting even with the discount it isn't really cheaper to take the train in some cases (maybe shorter trips make more sense) if you take into account the time it takes to get to and from your destination and the amount of money you will spend during your trip it's actually cheaper to fly. Sad really, I took the train a lot as a kid and I still enjoy taking the train from time to time, but it isn't to save money.
  7. Everyone deserves a second chance. Best of luck to you.
  8. Please do not try and turn this around on me. Again, I did not say she was being rude, please read my post.
  9. Let's be clear, I did not say she was being rude. All caps is generally accepted as yelling. She is entitled to communicate as she chooses, I was just making a comment on her post.
  10. I'm sure you're very frustrated, but yelling the first paragraph might not be the best way to get through to those you are trying to speak to.
  11. Honestly I was wondering how the response would be to this thread, maybe not a hostile response but I thought some SP's might get insulted. But that is not the case, I think the response is very reasonable. What I'm reading is that the offer puts a lady in a vulnerable position. She moves into another guy's apartment, no contract, no guarantee that the guy might find another SP he likes better and kick the first SP out. As someone else mentioned it would probably attract a lady who is in a bit of a desperate situation, otherwise she wouldn't up end her life and move into such a vulnerable situation. Just a note: Why did your username change to canuck----- when I quoted you?
  12. I'm a member of this board, I travel to Montreal once in awhile so I joined about a year ago. Although I find your description overly dramatic I don't find the board very useful and I don't find the members very helpful.
  13. Come'on Meg, you make a sensible, well thought out, non controversial statement. This is no way to start an argument. :)
  14. Well we can go back and forth, I believe you and a couple of others are pointing to people who are illegally receiving welfare benefits. I'm sure there are equally or maybe even more people scamming the EI system as well. For me, that is the answer to your "why". There are criminals and scumbags who steal and take advantage of governments and individuals. Also, please see Jhena's response for more answers to your questions, it was a great post. As far as Emily's statistics I asked a question. Where did she get the statistic that 65% of the city/community she lives in are on welfare. I just found this article, although almost 4 years old I think it might be an interesting read for folks. Two things stick out, there are SOME people living on less that $300 per month. At the bottom of the article it mentions the number of people on social assistance, province wide mind you but it gives you and idea of the amount of people who collect welfare. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/new-brunswick/story/2009/11/13/nb-poverty-reduction-plan.html
  15. Cristy, I do not want to start an argument or fight with you but I have to say a a few things. As far as your comment regarding welfare recipients driving escalades, that is so ridiculous. I'm not saying that the statement is false because whoever is driving that escalade is either supplementing their income from some other illegal activity or it is someone who was doing very well in life and has fell hard and fast. To suggest that someone can afford an escalade on social assistance is just so ridiculous I can't find words for it. My guess is that you heard a story about someone who's probably getting welfare illegally and you blanket the whole community with the story of this person (or people) who scam the welfare system, it is not the majority I assure you. You're sadly misinformed, do some research and see what a single person or mother of 1,2,3 make on welfare, it's not a lot. Don't waste your time being angry at or envying the people on welfare. Couple other things, I agree we are all judgemental but I also believe your post was judgmental, it was like the first post that followed said, a rant. You're entitled to your opinion but just call it what it was. Additional Comments: RIGHT!!! But....you're blanketing the entire community with the actions of some criminals. In my opinion that is wrong. There are bad cops, bad lawyers, bad doctors. There are scumbags in every part of society, I just think it's wrong to judge the entire welfare community by the actions of these criminals. So are you saying that 65%(not a chance) of the community Emily lives in are living extravagantly? People who legally and legitimately live on welfare live below the poverty line. That is a fact!
  16. I would like to know: 1.) Where do you get your statistics? 2.) What made you move to a community you clearly have disdain for? You CANNOT live an etravagant lifestyle on social assistance. I don't know where you are getting your information but you are not being responsible by spreading so much misinformation in your post.
  17. For the record, when I think of a woman spitting on a guy's dick it's just spitting some saliva on it. It's not "hacking a loogie" as has been mentioned here a couple of times.
  18. I'm just seeing this now, the movie was great, I enjoyed it very much. Will be interested to hear from those who have seen the movie and read the book.
  19. I don't get CPAC but I was just on their website and the videos they have on their website have English translators, for whatever that's worth.
  20. Me thinks his posts are not by accident and that these posts are fun to him.
  21. In hindsight I could have chosen a different title. It was not my intent to trick or scare anyone.
  22. I think this practice was something started in porn, big surprise! The first time it happened to me I thought it was kinda funny and went with the flow but it's not something I like now. It doesn't gross me out, just one of those things I could do without. Personally I don't like excessive amounts of saliva when receiving oral, to each their own.
