    As Autumn Raine said, this is an issue for all women - and all men! In my family (I am not an aboriginal person) a lovely young woman, my cousin, was raped and stabbed and left to die and freeze to death in a prairie snowbank in January some years ago. These are terrible things that must come to an end!

    In my 100th post, (Hi Passion Vitto:)) something I really want to say: In Stephen Harper's Canada, Cpl. Nathan Cirillo (poor, unfortunate victim that he was - but clearly not, by any stretch of the imagination, a national hero - a simple army reservist, a night club bouncer looking for a better job) was somehow so much more important to Stephen Harper than the lovely young aboriginal woman, Tina Fontaine, who was also murdered, and whose body (in a garbage bag) was thrown into the Red River in Winnipeg. Somehow, in Stephen Harper's Canada, Nathan Cirillo was automatically someone very important, supposedly a national hero, because he happened to be wearing a military uniform. And Tina Fontaine, who was probably wearing nothing at all, was nothing, and no one :( I am very, very happy that we are now regaining some perspective. Every Canadian is important! Civilians are as important as the military and the RCMP - probably more so. And, most importantly, women, aboriginal and non-aboriginal, are as important as all of us guys! These are our true Canadian values, and what makes us strong! bellafan Xo

    A couple of years ago, I went to visit my dear sister, in Beijing. One day, when I went back to her apartment, waiting for the elevator, I met an amazingly beautiful woman! I was so struck by her beauty. I asked her where she was from. She told me she was from Mongolia. I don't even know her name. But I will never forget having met her :) One of the most beautiful women I have ever seen :) A memory highlight of the day for sure :) bellafan

    First, I think the Trudeau government did well to extend the timeline to bring refugees to Canada. Too often governments get wrapped up in their own egos and do stupid things. Second, I think it is true that some very, very rich Muslim nations are falling disgracefully short in helping their Muslim brothers and sisters, notably Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.

    With the new government, it's almost certain that there will be real progress for legislation related to sexual services and other religion-related social issues such as assisted suicide. Things should become a lot more relaxed in the next couple of years, I would say, and hope :)

    My apologies in advance. My post is long and a bit heavy, but a highlight for me today, nevertheless. I finally understand how important it was for me to spend a couple of weeks with my grandfather in Laura, Saskatchewan over fifty years ago. My grandmother had to go somewhere. My grandfather had suffered a stroke and needed someone to stay with him, just in case. We were living in Saskatoon, not far away. It was summer - a beautiful warm, dry Saskatchewan summer. I was twelve or thirteen, I think. I was the one who would be with my grandfather. I didn't understand then how important my presence could be. My grandfather had four children, including my mother, the eldest, and one son, Joseph (Joe), the youngest. Joe was very talented but quite wild around the edges - spoiled rotten, drank too much, chased skirts and ended up in the St. Lawrence River in his early thirties, with a wife and many children in St. John's, NL. I resembled Joe a lot. I would guess that my being with my grandfather comforted him greatly. We very much enjoyed being together. We exchanged very few words, but lots of connection. We would go for walks and collect beer bottles and mushrooms, which he would cook in butter. Yummy! In the afternoon he would smoke his pipe in his den, and take a nap. Beautiful, peaceful times! A lovely man, of few words, who lies buried now in Laura, with his wife, not far from where my mother and my father also rest in peace. Only tonight did I realize fully how good that time was for me, and probably for him :) bellafan

    This afternoon I had the chance to be with a woman who has been very special to me for over three years now - someone I hadn't seen that way for a long, long time. It felt very good! To be together - to enjoy warm physical contact and to talk and laugh, like we always seem to do. It made a cold day in Ottawa very, very warm ;) bellafan

    I saw Adèle about a week ago :) I don't often write recommendations these days, for reasons known to me and the people who are close to me. But I have to say, Adèle is an amazingly attractive woman! One of the most beautiful, intelligent and classy women I have ever met - and I have had the pleasure of being with a number of very attractive women! I am a very lucky guy :) To be able to spend some moments in the company of a lovely woman like Adèle - it's more than most men could ever dream of ;) If you have the chance to go see her - do that - it's a really good idea :) You will always remember your time with her, guaranteed :) bellafan
