A lot of research will be presented and nobody will hear about it. We will not be able to discredit any spurious data they present behind closed doors, or when no reporters are present.

i am not going to read any more because she starts with an outright lie. She says she wants to see what those countries have learned. She is presenting the idea that they have reached a conclusion about the issue. You can't say "Here is what they think in Holland" because lots of people in Holland have differing ideas. She is pulling the same BS as a lot of crusaders, making claims that are not true. There is still debate going on there, actually a lot less than here.

I have never received spam from any SP. This legislation is great. Everyone I work with spends the first ten or fifteen minutes a day going through spam. No joke, it is a huge waste of productivity and must cost billions of dollars nationally. And there is the wasted bandwidth being used up. Spammers should executed.

Good luck and please give us some feedback. Be sure to get some sort of commitment re services before you hand over your cash.

I avoided this movie because I have been a serious Tintin fan since childhood. I have the box set of the original books, a cabinet full of Tintin memorabilia etc. So I was expecting the worst. Often movie characters don't appear the way you imagine them. The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings movies are a good example. A large fan base with very specific ideas...there was no way Jackson could please them. The movie was surprisingly satisfying. Tintin was good, his apartment was beautifully rendered. Haddock was good too, this story is his first appearance, so we see the two meet. There is a cameo of Spielberg but I haven't seen Jackson yet, and I know he likes his cameos LOL. The movie also captured the wild action the Herge often drew, and the sense of exotic far off places, the same sense Jackson portrayed in King Kong. Overall the film was good for a casual watcher. Tintin is definitely an acquired taste and the animation might throw off a lot of people. For a serious Tintin-ophile it very good to excellent.

Does Peter McKay even know where babies come from?

No sadly the Tories are just being Machiavellian. Sneaky mofos. They will have committee hearings on the bill during summer recess. There will be less reporters around to cover it and we will know less about what is going on.

I am suspicious of anyone who doesn't have something to hide. Everyone screws up now and then and it takes a bit of integrity to admit it. Re the hooker: she probably had a burst of business from the notoriety. Anyone sensible would avoid her.

I think they are afraid of being portrayed as supporting perverts and exploiters. The Tories are very good at mud slinging. They will be all over anyone who opposes this bill. And we have seen how they are not interested in debate, they will simply scream abuse at anyone who disagrees with them. There is almost no sensible discussion of anything in Parlliament. A polarising issue like this is way too hot to handle. I wish it was different, I wish MPs couold sit down and talk like adults, but that doesn't seem possible anymore.

I don't think that is Sylvia working the desk. I had sessions with her back in the 80s...jeezuz I'm old!!! My God she had a fabulous body in her prime! One of the greatest racks of all time on a smoking hot tall blonde.

MP's Email Addresses Part 1
cinelli replied to mrrnice2's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
By all means write your MP! I don't want to discourage anyone, just make your letter clear and concise. -
Joy Smith is a powerful and influential MP, do not underestimate her. She says things like "The Criminal Intelligence Service Canada estimates a single Canadian victim of sex trafficking is worth approximately $280,000 per year to her pimp. This is big money, and our youth are their targets." People read that and think every SP is making $280k for a pimp. Speaking on bill C36 "This is a blow to the many brothels masquerading as massage parlours that saturate our communities" Parlours are in big trouble. Smith is very good at painting a black and white picture: ALL prostitutes are victims, ALL customers are exploiting them.

This! One is fairly easy-going, the other is just a PITA!

Should the prostitution law debate hear from johns?
cinelli replied to roamingguy's topic in In the news
Best comment:"If exchanging money for favours is perversion, then all politicians are perverts". Worst "No matter how you spin it prostitution is rape". Too much polarisation and not much reasoned debate. -
MP's Email Addresses Part 1
cinelli replied to mrrnice2's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
My best friend's mom works in our local MP's office. So I'm giving you folks a heads up. First: Some of you are posting letters here that you plan to send...I will tell you right now that the MP is not going to read them. First, they will be screened by the MP's staff. An MP plain and simple DOES NOT HAVE THE TIME to read every letter even if they want to. You can't imagine the demands on their time. Second: Your letters are TOO LONG. Make it short and to the point. A few paragraphs tops. Third: Don't take it personally, but there are people in really desperate situations who need their MP's help. What is important to us may seem trivial or ridiculously self indulgent to others. Everyone has their own priorities. I don't like my MP or his politics personally but I have to say he works extremely hard for his constituents. We have a lot of people and ex military who he works very hard for. If he has to choose between some disabled Vet who is homeless because of a pension screwup versus some guy complaining about not having access to hookers on his interent...that MP will look after the vet and I don't blame him. -
She's been here before, the pics are her.

Retail Shopping is Toast

LOL I went to Costco a few blocks away, got the kid a tablet, no problem. In and out of the store in ten minutes. God bless Costco indeed! -
Two annoying experiences today, that's it. I'm buying everything online now. 1: go to Best Buy to get a grad present for my friend's kid. She wants an iPad, great, they got them. Ask sales clerk to get one out of the locked cabinet. Then it goes crappy. "Have you heard about our protection plan?" Oh jeez not this BS again. I tell the kid I'm not interested and I just want the tablet please. No way. He launches into a spiel about how he is "not on commission"...as if that is supposed to make him seem more sincere. then tells me how great the plan is. I repeatedly tell him I am NOT INTERESTED but he keeps going. I try telling him my Visa card provides all the same benefits, I know protection plans are a scam and a moneymaker. I argue for at least ten minutes. Nothing gets through to him. Since he isn't listening to me I ask to see his supervisor. Who them starts the exact same crap all over again. He blatantly LIES about Visa coverage. So I have now been waiting over fifteen minutes for them to get the tablet out of the case and let me buy it. Patience is done. "Are you going to give me that tablet or not?" The kid smiles "I'm not going to let you buy it without a plan!" As if he is worried about my sanity. I leave, without the tablet. And am NEVER setting foot in Best Buy or Future Shop again. Round 2: Chapters Go for a Starbucks and browse books cause I am now in a foul mood. Find book I want, go to register. "Do you have a membership"...no I don't want one..."You get 15% off blah blah blah"...well why don't you skip the memberships and charge less? "It's so we can serve you better"....sure by data mining and selling my info. Screw that. No more Chapters/Indigo either, everything I want is on torrent for free or EBay for cheap. I used to like shopping but both of them literally drove me out of the store. And stores whine about poor sales. Fuck them.

NO! NO! NO! It is NOT being used to protect CP, that is what Harper wants you to think. The Tories will likely be saying anyone who objects to the bill is a molester. Vic Toews said exactly that. Funny though, he was pissed off when someone posted public records about his ugly divorce online. The Tories want privacy for themselves but not for anyone else. Too careless/lazy to follow proper procedure, they could have got one but did not take the time to do so.

Canadian Sex Offender Registry

It's a perfect question for them to ask. If you say yes you better have a good reason.
