How does some Tory flunky in Harper's office know more about insects in the coastal rainforest than a PhD etymologist? How can a Tory bootlick know more about the effects of the tar sands on migratory birds than a career scientist? Harper dismisses climate change because he is owned by big oil, therefore climatologists and earth scientists are wrong too. All his positions that run contrary to real scientists are chosen for political reasons. My comparison stands.

When I served in the military, my Commander in Chief was NOT the Prime Minister. It was the Queen and the Crown, as the personification of Canada and the people of Canada. Likewise Harper is not this scientist's boss. The scientist serves Canada and the people of Canada. Harper and his thugs have destroyed much of Canada's scientific credibility. Harper thinks he can say what is scientifically valid, and he is much like Stalin and Hitler in this regard. It is ridiculous and insane to have an official science policy where scientific "facts" are determined by party committees.

I avoid boutique lines simply because service and parts can be a pain. Whirlpool or GE parts are easy to get. Parts from Sub Zero will kill you.

I ride a bicycle to work whenever possible. Idiots who do those things make everyone on a bicycle look bad. Nobody notices the dozens of bicycles riding properly but the one idiot sticks in the memory of drivers. I also ride a Harley and same thing applies. Most motorcycle riders are pretty careful. But there's always a few who ride like they are invulnerable, or ride with open ear splitting exhausts. I'd say grow up, but most of them are already grown up and should know better eh?
