What is your cold or flu remedy
oldblueeyez replied to CristyCurves's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Hey, another NaturalNewser! Mike Adams can be a little over the top sometimes and makes some really cheesy music videos, but his intentions are good. His site's not solely informational, as he tries to sell stuff too, but hey, we all have the right to earn an income. Doctor Mercola's another one. Anyway, Aronia beats the piss out of elderberry, ORAC-wise, and practically every other nutraceutical out there too. "Aronia", even it's name is wonderful; if I ever have another child, I wish the name to be Aronia. "I christen thee Aronia!" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aronia#Products_and_uses http://www.iherb.com/Eclectic-Institute-Aronia-450-mg-90-Veggie-Caps/12451 Madre Labs has a really good immune boosting combo (4.5 stars out of 5, over 500 reviews): http://www.iherb.com/Madre-Labs-Immune-Punch-with-AHCC-and-Epicor-6-35-oz-180-grams/8951 If you're a wilderness hiker and you see this growing on a birch tree, dig it off and make a tea of it. -

I'm always working with my hands doing some landlordy thing or another, and those little bastards can really hurt every time they're whacked or tugged. It's worth the blood and pain to rip the damn thing off. Smother with iodine and carry on. That reminds me of something; a sweet young nurse told me recently that they don't use iodine, peroxide, or alcohol when cleaning wounds now because it kills healthy cells, so all they use is saline solution. What?!? People are dying in hospitals because of MRSA and they don't want to sanitize wounds with things that actually kill germs?!!!? Oh, and you keep doing this crap because you're a man and you never learn and be proud of that! -
Is this a real job?
oldblueeyez replied to CristyCurves's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Hey Cristy, In regard to your original post, firstly, screw anonymous idiots who get their cheap kicks by calling and harassing people. They're likely penniless fucktards who are bitter because they can't afford quality company. We all get asshole customers in practically any kind of business. Got to let it roll off like water beads on a Turtle Waxed car. And yes, this is a real job. Time and energy goes into marketing and attracting clients, maintaining a repeat customer base, organizing appointments, managing financials. Actually, it's more of a small business than a job, and I admire the entrepreneurial spirit! It takes a lot of guts to start up an enterprise. As for Shayla, wow. She's got great pics and I was looking forward to seeing her someday, but beauty's pretty worthless with a crappy attitude like that. I'd feel a little sad and offended if I were called a "j--n", even by a fellow hobbyist, because of the perceived negative stereotype, so I can understand somewhat how SPs would feel when called the H-word. I've been told by SPs that CERB guys are great ("they're usually business types"), so why would a SP want to get herself banned from such an invaluable marketing tool? A little word of advice Shayla, go to the library and check out an old marketing series called "Guerilla Marketing" and read it thrice. Do you really want to limit yourself to CL and BP clients (no offense intended to CLers and BPers...I look at them from time to time)? I don't think she needs a permanent ban, but a "take the time to think about what you posted" ban. Sometimes I say stupid things; happens to us all. -
To tell you the truth, I've never picked up at a bar, ever; there's always a first time though! But once I get a liter of red wine in me I feel like dancin', and at least at a gay bar I'm not the only older fella bouncing around on the dancefloor like an idiot. I don't want to hang out where all the folks are my age, that's just depressing; and I don't want to hang out where everybody is barely legal, that's even more depressing. I wouldn't mind a small audience of one or two, but I don't think I'll be fornicating in front of hundreds; not yet, anyway. ;-)

Good luck to you on that one! However, if you like scenic drives, along the coast of the peninsula north of Antigonish on the 337 is quite nice (do it clockwise for a really great view as you turn the tip and overlook Ballantynes Cove), and Port Shoreham Beach provincial park southeast of you is very impressive. I've found some of the ladies of Port Hawkesbury quite flirtatious; maybe a short overnight trip is in order? ;-)

Thanks guys! Might see y'all there sometime in the near future! ;-)

Ha ha, the Gentlemen's Club! Lots of fond memories from that place! But these days I think I'll steer clear of such places. -
I'll tell you this much, organic rice is worse than regular rice. Organic rice comes from areas of the US where once stood cottonfields, which were heavily dusted with arsenic as a pesticide way back when. The arsenic stayed in the ground and is absorbed by the organic rice. Same goes for "organic" prepackaged foods which contain brown rice syrup. Google "organic rice arsenic". All those organic health bars are crap anyway, loaded with way too much sugar. Indian and Thai regular rice is the best, I seem to recall. Quite a bit of regular produce is fine, as it's minimally pesticided. Here's a handy reference: http://www.ewg.org/foodnews/list/ I prefer organic more as a way to steer clear of GMOs than pesticides; I hate being a guinea pig.

Interesting stuff, but a depressing reminder of how stuck we are on this planet and how much intense effort it takes simply to leave our atmosphere. Mankind needs to discover a way to transcend its physical boundaries and explore the outer (or perhaps inner) world in other ways. Perhaps technology will someday allow us to discover additional senses, and somehow mind travel anywhere in the universe, without physically leaving this earth. Shooting fire-propelled missiles into the air isn't that far advanced from the days when the Chinese discovered rocketry, considering the 800+ years which has elapsed. Mind-altering drugs or technology might be a door to the universe. Meditation? Well hell, death had better be, that's for sure, but I think I'll wait on that one. ;-) Shrooms, anyone? And hey, they didn't have to glam it up by adding sound to the space travel scenes. -

After explaining that she had a one-shot policy, after ten minutes of CBJ, asking in an annoyed tone, "Are you ever going to come?" Lesson learned. Stick to Cerb ladies; they're the best! -
This isn't related to 'courtesan/escort', but it is related to sex and attempting to score. To the best of my knowledge, Reflections is an 'anything goes' bar, am I right? Its days of being an exclusively gay bar are history, correct? Just makin' sure!

Should I give up Cable TV?
oldblueeyez replied to Jabba's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Off the grid? Yeee haaa! I think I love you! Yeah, a log cabin way back in the woods beside a lake! I have some ideas for off-grid electricity generation: if you have a stream nearby with suitable elevation, you can make a mini-hydro station (enclose it and insulate it for winter); scrounge up used vegetable oil and make a bio-fuel generator using an old-tech, low RPM Lister single cylinder diesel motor; use a small gasoline engine and use wood chip gas technology to make a generator. You don't need to continually generate electricity if you have a suitable battery bank. As for Cable TV.....or any kind of TV? Why?!!!? With all the damn commercials, they should be PAYING US to watch it! Really, what a friggin' scam, programming us into thinking we should PAY TO BE BRAINWASHED! And most programming is low-cost crap anyway. Reality TV, shit, why watch life being lived? Get the hell out there are live life for yourself! End of rant, sorry. Viewing quality movies occasionally is the only sensible use I see for a TV. Jabba, why can't you be female, 29, and slim and sexy???????????????? :icon_wink: With the intense concentration of media ownership, it's scary how the mentality of the masses can be manipulated. Case in point: Americans being brainwashed into supporting the Invasion of Iraq after 9/11. It's sad how easily patriotism can be twisted into nationalism and worse. Sheeple. Sheesh. Okay, rant 2 over....sorry. -

I just thought I'd throw this in too, since it pertains to HPV and its potential to cause throat cancer: Primary Component of Turmeric Kicks Off Cancer-Killing Mechanisms in Human Saliva So if I show up and my teeth are yellow, you ladies know why! ;-) (not that I have HPV, not that I know, but hey, it's better to be safe than sorry) -

Zyflammend was very good when New Chapter was an independent company. Now that it's been bought out by Proctor & Gamble, I don't have the same faith in it as before, as the huge mega-corporation will undoubtably cut costs by using cheaper ingredients. New Chapter used to get a lot of my supplement money, but I've found many other alternatives on Iherb.com. Also, I've found that zyflammend didn't have enough turmeric and ginger for me, and once I extra supplemented with those, I really saw results. You can save a lot of money using iherb.com. too! I don't use Zyflammend anymore; I've found that I don't really need it. Oregano oil is a great little thing too, especially if you're prone to yeast infections. You can make your own tinctures by ordering organic ginger, turmeric, etc, in bulk and soaking them in vodka. As many of these herbs are hepatoprotective, a little bit of booze won't hurt! ;) -
Aches and pains
oldblueeyez replied to CristyCurves's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Tylenol's hard on the liver. NSAIDs will burn out your stomach. Opiates run the risk of acquiring a serious life-long addiction. Masking the pain, which tylenol and OxyNeo and such will do, is not the solution; damage is still being done to your joints, it's just that you can't feel it. Natural anti-inflammatories usually work, given enough time: ginger, turmeric, bromelain, fish oil, etc. I've overcome 95% of chronic pain resulting from a lifetime of hard work naturally. Alcohol consumption on dates?
oldblueeyez replied to Amelia Fox's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
I'll have a glass or two of wine sometimes before a date; loosens me up and gets the blood flowing, so obviously I don't mind a lady having a drink or two prior. As I am typically driving to and from a date, I never drink more. -
What does it mean to have a 'home'?
oldblueeyez replied to Nathalie L's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
I don't feel completely at home in this body, so how on earth can I feel completely at home anywhere? My goal someday is to be homeless, without possessions and the attachments to them; I suspect this will occur shortly before the death of my current vessel. Until then, I will strive to detach myself from this material world and transition into a nomadic life. But here's the catch: my life as a nomad will require the use of a camper, which will, I suppose, become my 'home'. Sometimes people get stuck on their houses. They build them bigger and grander. They buy up bigger and grander. Sometimes I wonder if the effort to build such determined permanence is merely a denial of the inevitable impermanence of us and our surroundings, including the earth itself. I don't think I'll be home anyday soon; I probably have one billion more lives to live first. Someday though, someday. I have no idea what I just said. Another glass of wine is in order! -
I had always wanted to see Amelia back when she was a diligent student, but for some reason, the distant lights in the evening sky never allineated. Thankfully she recently returned to our quaint Atlantic outpost, and when I looked up at the evening sky, yes, it appeared as though the stars had aligned, and I thanked them! There is no need to go into physical details, as everybody who wishes to know knows, and as everybody knows, she's hot! However, above and beyond her fascinating corporeal elements is a charming, intelligent, friendly, funny, and courteous young lady. An utterly delightful encounter and awaiting the fair lady's return with great anticipation!

A good ole Nova Scotia boy! I wouldn't count just on weed oil though, I'd add turmeric extract, ginger extract, grapeseed extract, bromelain, and especially IP6 Gold. -

Pycnogenol might be something to look into as well, but you should talk to your doctor of course (something to do with nitrate). Pycnogenol "Limited research suggests pycnogenol, used alone or in combination with L-arginine, might improve sexual function in men with ED. It seems to take up to three months of treatment for significant improvement." I've noticed wood improvement almost immediately after taking it. Lots of good reviews here, and I-herb always has great prices and quick shipping to Canada: http://www.iherb.com/product-reviews/Healthy-Origins-Pycnogenol-100-mg-60-Veggie-Caps/4128/?p=1 I've noticed it can cause heartburn though.
