It's the Rapture!!! :tresmauvaisehumeur: -
Perhaps some of this is because it's just so much easier to hire an SP nowadays. I mean, before the internet, what the hell did you do? I wouldn't have had the first clue how to find an escort let alone any way to know how to keep myself safe. I sure as hell wouldn't have gone cruising for streetwalkers or something. Massage parlours might have been an option but I don't really know how you could tell which ones were legit or whatever. Really, a strip club would be about the only way for a sheltered, non-worldly fellow like myself to get a little 'action' without putting a lot of time and effort into figuring out the somewhat scary world (at the time) of escorting. Now, with sites like CERB and various other online resources, it's trivial to find someone and do research to make sure it's on the up and up. So there really isn't any point in a strip club anymore as far as I'm concerned. They were just a sub-standard solution to a problem that the internet has completely solved for me.

We did homemade gyros on the weekend. I was amazed at how well they turned out...just as good as any I've ever bought. http://www.seriouseats.com/2010/06/greek-american-lamb-gyros-homemade-from-scratch-the-food-lab.html

A bit more of a serious post for this thread but this kid is incredible. He sums up the political and social situation in Egypt right now in less that two minutes and better than any newscast I've seen.

I made home-made panzerotti. Deep fried dough...so good. Stuffed with pepperoni, hot italian sausage, bacon, jalapenos, red onions and kalamata olives. And of course sauce and cheese. Messy clean up but totally worth it.

This seems to be one area where men tend to have an advantage over women. We seem a little more sanguine about aging and are less likely to take extraordinary measures to avoid it. Obviously not universally true but on the whole, women generally seem to be less comfortable with just letting nature take its course. Either that or we're . ;-)

Aging gracefully and accepting what nature gives you is tough but I think it tends to look better than most of the alternatives. For men with receding/thinning hair, I feel like the best bet is just to keep it really short, like, "shortest setting on the clipper" short. It's kind of like telling Nature, "You can't fire me...I quit!" All the other things are good. Not being overweight takes the years off. Staying fit makes you look and feel younger. Hair? Don't worry about it. Very few ladies care anyway as long as it's well cared for. Or you could try this:

I've come up with a new theorem. I call it "The CERB Circlejerk Rule: Any thread, given sufficient time, eventually degenerates into a discussion of BBBJ."
-
I'm sure many of you read it already but she recently put up a couple posts that I personally found very interesting. 1: Taxation as pertaining to escorts. 2: Some excellent quotes regarding prostitution. She also puts up some pretty sweet pics some times too but I find her writing to be outstanding. Enjoy.

BBFS? I think you're on the wrong site. Try Lavalife or POFish or perhaps Maxwells on a Friday.

Amazon reviews of the shoes Wendy Davis wore during her Texas abortion bill filibuster. Sample: "Men, do not try these on! I tried on a pair at the local mall and suddenly Texas Republicans started telling me what to do with my genitals. They started explaining reproduction to me like I was a seventh grader. Unfortunately, being male, I had no way to shut the whole thing down. I'm so confused..."

Heading north for the long weekend so road food. Probably grab something in Mattawa or something. Ooh...maybe a poutine!

I think strip clubs fill a need and have a target demographic. Everyone has a personal ethical 'line' that they won't cross. Some guys will look at porn or strippers but not touch ala champagne room. Some guys think it's okay to touch a bit in the CR but wouldn't get a handjob from an MA. Some feel intercourse or a blowjob is more unethical than a hand job during a massage. Some (like me) don't really see any difference between any of these activities and so choose the one that they feel gives the most 'bang for the buck'. For me personally, if I'm going to 'cheat', I might as well go all the way and see an SP. In the end, the cost of most of these activities works out fairly similarly so I might as well do what gives me the most satisfaction. For me, that's a fully interactive experience. So honestly, I'm pretty unlikely to set foot in an SC because I really just don't see the point, but I get that there are others with different views. There are also some who like to do ALL of the above activities I guess but I suppose they must have more money than me. I have to spend my sexy dollars wisely so if I 'waste' money on an SC or massage, it means less money for hobbying.

I actually just posted this link in the unhijackable thread but I think it's quite relevant to this discussion. It's a good comment of some of the pressure men face in the bedroom. -
Interesting comment on why sex feels like a performance for men.

Epic food weekend...Those cajun fritters (above) on Friday. Funny thing - they're pretty good hot out of the oil but cold as leftovers? OMG...so good. They're like super flavor bread with chunks of yum. Saturday was seared halibut cheeks with a butter, white wine, lemon, shallot reduction. Served with a goat cheese, fig, arugula salad with a sherry vinegar, olive oil and shallot vinaigrette and sourdough bread. I'm shamed to admit I bought bread instead of baking it this weekend. Should know better. It's never quite as good. Sunday was sous-vide, pan seared steaks, sweet potato gnocchi with brown butter and crispy sage and roasted broccoli with asiago. Oh yeah and since figs were on sale, we jarred up a batch of spicy fig chutney as well. Right...back to dieting all week to do it again next weekend.

This! As nice as it is for us to discuss all this, it's pretty much a circle jerk. We're just preaching to the choir. Seriously...no one here will vote for full criminalization but you could be pretty damn sure there's a large subset of our society that would vote for exactly that. Many people have awfully strong opinions on things to which they've never given a moments serious thought.

Not funny or cute but very interesting. The actual numbers proving why roundabouts/traffic circles are better than traditional intersections. - A 37 percent reduction in overall collisions - A 75 percent reduction in injury collisions - A 90 percent reduction in fatality collisions - A 40 percent reduction in pedestrian collisions
