'There's no place for the state in the bedrooms of the nation' - Pierre Elliot Trudeau (1967) In my opinion the current laws are sufficient to protect sex workers just as they are sufficient to protect everyone else. The nasty bits of the business like trafficking, exploitation, violence, etc. are already covered by existing regulation. Prostitution itself is a victimless crime and should not need any special regulation above and beyond what any other profession would have. Treating sex work differently is paternalistic and moralistic. Grown ups should be able to make their own decisions about what to do with their bodies. Additional Comments: This is a pretty interesting point but I think it would be moot. In principle, it's illegal to discriminate in hiring as well. In practice, if you don't want to hire someone, you're not going to. Even if it's for a bad reason (age, sex, race) it's pretty unlikely you'll ever get called on it unless you're stupid enough to actually say that's why you're not hiring them.

what prostitution law is best for canada?
Eric Northman replied to Capital Hunter's topic in Ottawa Discussion - Escorts
Oh you're back. From your earlier post I had understood that you were taking your ball and going home. Disagreeing with you is neither aggressive, arrogant nor offensive and your saying so doesn't make it true. Any more than you calling me a goody boy proves that I'm supporting the ladies simply because they're ladies. I have my own opinions, my own mind and I evaluate information on it's own merit regardless of its origin. Besides, it wasn't only ladies that presented differing opinions. They made better points than you. They presented a better argument and more quality information than you. You only started the thread. You don't own it and you don't get to make the rules. Nobody other than you is trying to make this into a flame war.- 51 replies

Being safe
Eric Northman replied to Exotic Touch Danielle's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
There is no wrong or right. Only choices and consequences. You choose to offer a certain set of services for a certain price. Clients choose to come see you or not based on whether or not they feel the price is appropriate for the service. It's very simple and there is no moral judgement. If you can make acceptable levels of profit, great. If not, then you make adjustments to either prices or services. It's true in all areas of business. Consider buying something. Some people are willing to pay more to purchase things at smaller independent retailers because they feel the level of service is higher. Others will always seek the lowest price regardless of any other factors so you have places like Walmart. There's room for both business models in my opinion. -
what prostitution law is best for canada?
Eric Northman replied to Capital Hunter's topic in Ottawa Discussion - Escorts
A quick trip to Wikipedia reveals dozens of countries (and a state, Nevada) where prostitution is legal, quite a few of which actually regulate it as well. I feel the subject is far too nuanced to reduce to a poll with a few simple options. In my opinion, if Canada wanted to lead the way, they would adopt a 'best of breed' approach whereby they look at other countries laws and what the experience has been with them. Then they can pick and choose those parts of the laws which provide the best safety and security for all involved. I see it as analogous to the current efforts to decriminalize/legalize marijuana in the US. Smart legislators will look at other jurisdictions such as Portugal, Netherlands, etc. that have decriminalized or have enacted medical programs. Then they can hopefully avoid making the same mistakes over again. -

What reaction are you talking about? An intelligent and reasonable discussion with information presented from people who understand the subject and are actually directly affected by it? You nailed down a set of choices and suggested that they were the ONLY choices. You stated up front that you didn't want to hear any other opinions as if you were the ultimate authority in the subject. Then you act all butt-hurt that people had the audacity to disagree with your viewpoint? Sorry dude. It's your right to post anything you want but you don't know everything and it's incredibly arrogant to assume that you have the final word without hearing any other opinions. -
You don't know what ad hominem means. I wasn't attacking you but merely stating that you're not qualified to have informed opinions on this subject based on your own description of yourself. It's like my grandmother trying to discuss nuclear physics. See...now THAT's an ad hominem attack. Well done. You're putting on a clinic here. False dichotomy implies that two choices are given as the ONLY choices. I merely presented an example. It's cute that you're trying to use these various rhetorical tools without actually understanding them. To paraphrase George Bernard Shaw: "Arguing on the internet is like wresting with a pig. After a while you realize you're getting dirty and the pig enjoys it."

I guess everyone needs to figure out what their personal risk tolerance is but from what I've read, the risk of catching anything from performing oral on a lady is pretty damn slim. I'm sure as hell not going to worry about it any time soon. But hey, to each their own I guess.

But...but....then you miss out on all the delicious pussy flavah....mmm...pussy. "You can eat all you want and never get fat. Where else can you go for a meal like that?" - Madonna

And yet you advertise yourself in your other posts as a "forever-alone virgin." There is wisdom in realizing that you don't know everything. Especially when you're entering a world of which you have no first hand knowledge. The world is nuanced and everything is shades of grey. You would do very well to ponder carefully how you present yourself here. CERB is a very friendly place but it can also be very unforgiving and harsh to those who are disrespectful of the community and its values. By making a blanket judgement and calling all SPs who don't have websites unprofessional, you've just offended a significant percentage of ladies whom you might be incredibly lucky to encounter. Is that really a reputation you want to cultivate? Spend some time. Read the forums. Educate yourself in the style and tone of this community. Perhaps a more humble viewpoint will allow you to use a more diplomatic tone. I'm not saying your opinion is wrong, only that your tone and presentation are harsh. Which is nicer to say? "All SPs without websites are unprofessional and not worth seeing" or "I prefer to see SPs with websites because I feel that I can learn more about them and feel more confident that their services are as advertised."
-
Agreed. From what I understand, a website is a fantastic tool for an SP and is truly great for business. But that doesn't mean it's the ONLY way to do business and it doesn't mean it's right for everyone. Generalizations are always bad. ;-)
-
My goodness. You're awfully sure of yourself aren't you? I remember being that age once, seeing everything in black and white. There couldn't be any reason why a legitimate provider wouldn't have a website? Perhaps they find their page on CERB to be sufficient for their needs? Perhaps they only do this part time or seasonally? Perhaps they're very tech unsavvy and don't know how to make a website or do web design? Or just don't want to? Making snap judgements about groups of people based on limited information is not wise and only demonstrates small mindedness. --edit-- Oh yeah, one other reason. Some people prefer to be VERY private and low profile. For the same reason some prefer to not show their faces in pictures. You know there are actually escorts who have families and significant others? And some of these people don't know what the escort does for a living? Shocking I know but it's true I promise you.

Be aware of what? "Throat cancer is considered to be uncommon and a small percentage of people with HPV develop cancer because of the virus. The finding does not suggest abstaining from oral or vaginal sex." Pretty sensationalist headline for something that we don't really need to worry about don't you think? Ladies, just so you know, for every pussy onesquared doesn't eat, I'm going to eat two! :-D

I've not been turned down yet. I don't think there are many ladies who don't enjoy a good kitty wash.

Women, Teach us how to please you ?
Eric Northman replied to someguy's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
As someone who loves to eat the pussy, I couldn't agree with you more Emily. I've never met two women who liked it exactly the same way. Quite often, it's so variable from one woman to another that it's almost like you're doing something completely different. Sometimes it's a bit frustrating. You think you've got it all figured out but then you meet a lady who you just can't seem to find the magic movement, the right rhythm, to get the job done. Some ladies give great feedback and it's easy to figure it out. Some are more subtle and you have to read very small cues...slight shifts of the hips, small sounds or sighs. It's not easy and there's no single method that works for everyone. Sorry boys. You're just going to have to figure out each woman separately. All these guides can give you is ideas for different techniques to try so that you don't run out of moves and get stuck before you solve the riddle. If you're lucky, she'll help you along the way. -

Hi Ladies, I see you all like to post pictures of yourselves. As a fan of America's Next Top Model, I've learned that looking good in real life and looking good on camera are VERY different things. Some of you seem to have more success than others in bringing out your best qualities so perhaps these articles I've recently come across will be interesting for some of you. How To Have Sex With Escorts: A Primer
Eric Northman replied to VedaSloan's topic in New to this? Things you should know...
I'm in the same boat too. I tend to be a little quick the first time around. I wouldn't worry about it. Most ladies are going to be thrilled if you turn the tables and go down on them. If you enjoy DATY, you'll be hard and ready for round two in no time at all. I always have a lot more stamina the second time around and never have any trouble finding fun things to do for an hour. -

getting turned on by a client
Eric Northman replied to Raven Rain's topic in Ottawa Discussion - Escorts
I know it's not reasonable to expect it every time but I'm definitely a little sad if I can't get the lady off. A big part of my enjoyment is feeling that I've pleasured her as well so I will always do my best to make it an orgasmic experience for her too. -
Speaking of misnamed critters...we had a dog and cat named Casey and Finnegan (after the puppets in Mr. Dressup). Finnegan was a boy cat so he got the dogs name.

Make extra filling and you can do multiple batches (it freezes well). Also, you can make mini ones with jalapenos to use for appetizers.

Grilled poblano chilies stuffed with chorizo, rice and shrimp. Split and deseed the chilies, stuff with filling and throw them on the grill. Top with cheese at the end for melty goodness. It's fairly similar to this recipe except that we add some chopped shrimp and we use an arborio rice to give the filling a creamy, risotto like texture. So good.
