After thinking about it, I think you are right. No way these guys have any knowledge of statistical analysis. This means that they are just guessing on their theories about "black girl rules" which means that they will not know if their decision is hurting the business or not which also means that they will keep the "black girl rule" in place which is a shame. How do they decide which 3 black girls they will take on a night?

i wonder how management knows what is going to appeal to the customers on any day. Seems a bit unfair to me. Do you think it is because management thinks that the customers will be scared to come there if there are a lot of black dancers? Additional Comments: I guess management is guessing what people want, perhaps they are running a study to determine the difference in their business when they have this rule on versus when they had no rule.

That is going to hurt the girls and the club. Sometimes you try out girls you don't know or have not seen them without their clothes on, but if you are unsure, it might make it less likely that people will try out new girls that they don't know. The club is going to be hurt if it is $5 charge plus $20/dance as other clubs do not have this extra tax on the visit to the champagne room. Its an irritating charge especially for someone who tries out a lot of dancers. As for the $7500 business license, that would work out to $625/month or about $20 day. It sucks that the City of Ottawa put this extra tax on them but i think they would be better off slipping the charges into beer and cover charges. Anyways I guess they will see how much money they make off of it so if there is a big drop off in dances then they might try something else to make the money.

I didn't realize this happened in Canada. Last time i checked we were a free market economy. Was it just for that night or is it all nights? Anyways, the more girls the better in my opinion, then i can choose from who is there.

Looks like Pigale has a really customer friendly policy, talk about generousity. I can't believe it. Now all you have to do is come back in 28 more years and see whether they will give you another free drink.

I have not been to the Barefax in a while and I have not read the boards in a while, so forgive me for asking. Is it $5 extra per dance or is it $5 per visit to the champagne room. Seems to me that they are trying to deter people from trying out new dancers. If i have a favorite dancer it is not going to stop me, but if i am not sure about a new dancer I may decide not to get the dance. Wonder why they don't just raise the prices of drinks or the cover charge a dollar or two as this definately penalizes the dancers.

I use the same strategy. If they start in the middle of the song, I tell them to wait for the start of the next song. By the way the ones who have been in the business for longer than a year tend to know that it is better not to rip off customers because you never know that customer could end up becoming a regular.

yah, lol. I hope they do not do the same thing as Barbarella's. There is no need for cameras there. Additional Comments: I found out the reason. I was down there for a while with a dancer that I knew and trusted and we both lost count. We checked with the manager and he had the time when she went in there and the time we left. I think they used 3.5 minutes in the calculation and came up with the number. It is a good idea, so there are no miscalculation on the number of dances. Good for the customer, good for the dancer and good for the club (no one gets pissed off for getting ripped off).

Did anyone notice that they are doing advanced analytics on dancers at Pigale on the weekend? It looks like they write down the dancer and the time they go into the champagne room. I suppose they are doing this in case there are any arguments with the number of dances by a dancer. I guess it could also be that they are doing advanced analytics on the most popular dancers and figuring on the body type that is preferred. I wonder whether they give the dancer additional perks for being a top dancer. Anyone else have any ideas on what they are doing?

Do the clubs keep track of which dancer gets the most dances? For example they see who is going to the champagne room so they could count to see who gets the most dances and then get more of that type of dancer and restrict others that are not as popular.

I have not been upstairs but their downstairs champagne room is a large room with no dividers in white light. The chairs have no decent back support either. I do not like the lack of privacy in the champagne room either. I wish they would create smaller booths. It still doesn't prevent me from getting dances in the champagne room but I prefer the clubs with more private rooms like Pigale and Barefax. I would probably go back to Nuden because they do have feature dancers and there are a variety of dancers there, so you might find your type there. A dancer once told me that they try to assess the likelihood that the person they are approaching has money and would like a dance from them. I suppose older people may have an advantage in that respect because there is an assumption that older people have more money than young people. It probably helps if you are dressed decently so they may come over and ask you.

I understand your point of view. Nobody likes to be ripped off. I would probably be upset as well. I probably would not have thought about asking the manager to review the video either. I am trying to think about how to avoid this situation, and it might be to carry exact change and perhaps wait until they ask for the money. I suppose you could also put it on credit but I as a general rule try not to use credit cards in strip clubs. I have heard of too many horror stories.

My vote goes to Pigale. Best girls are there. Nice champagne rooms. Second place would be Bare Fax. Girls are good but not as good as Pigale. Third place would be Nuden. I do not like the openness of the Champagne room and the chairs in the champagne room are horrible. I am boycotting Barbs because of the video cameras. I have not been to the other ones so I do not know about them.

I think you just got a bad stretch of dancers who could not be bothered. It happens quite often. The dancers do what ever they want so there are not many standards for what they do on the stage. Some of them leave the stage early and rarely get caught be the DJ. I guess its one of those things that the dancers feel it does not make them any money. They probably do not realize that this is their chance to get new customers to take them to the Champagne rooms.

I probably should also add that Ottawa does kick ass when it comes to strip clubs especially compared to Toronto and Mississauga. Those clubs are really expensive compared to Ottawa. Much better in Ottawa. To the orignal poster you may want to try going off the island to Laval. Les Deesses and Pink Paradise are nice and more laid back than downtown Montreal.

Yes there are cameras in the CR at pigales . One the ladies has told of a time just a few months back were a fellow decided to grab a hold of her and refused to let go . It was noticed on the monitor and he received the appropriate treatment ( a bloody beating and tossed out side door ) that such a fellow deserves from the security . I did not realize they were filming everything. Are they in every booth? I will look for them next time.

The city has a bad habit of long term construction projects that frequently bankrupts businesses. I remember Bank Street business going bankrupt after year after year of construction. I think Rideau street businesses must also be feeling the pain as well.

I have to agree with you Kilt Boy, that it is disrespectful of the clients and the dancers to be videotaping people in the champagne room. This can be used to blackmail people. For those who have seen the movie Snowden, will know that the CSE (Communication Security Establishment) and NSA (National Security Agency) have copies of those videos. Not only will they have these videos but others who can hack into the cloud can get the videos too and have that to blackmail people too. I cannot support a business that can possibly blackmail me so I probably will not be going back to Barbarella's Additional Comments: The other clubs do not have video cameras filming you in the champagne room and i doubt there has been problems in other clubs. Additional Comments: I have not seen cameras in the champagne rooms of Pigale. I am sure the dancers would have told me if there were.

I have made the same mistake as you did when you told girls that you are waiting for a specific girl at another club. The reaction was the same, the dancers didn't like it. I wonder why. I thought I was being honest and for them to not waste their time with me. Anyone else have this reaction from dancers?

Are you talking about Friday night being the best night to go there or are you talking about Friday afternoon? Was thinking about going here but the snow storm today made me change my mind.
