  1. I have to agree with you that I do not think i have ever said to myself that there are too many girls here tonight. As a customer, the more dancers the better in my opinion. Additional Comments: I did not think about it from a dancer's perspective. I do not think it is fair for the club to charge dancers the same price during the day or nights during the week. I have not had trouble getting a booth in the champagne room except occasionally on a Saturday night but it has been a while.
  2. I wonder whether the owners of Barbarella will be able to re-use the license in another building. I had read a couple years ago that the city of Ottawa was trying to get rid of all strip clubs in Ottawa as it apparently attracts a "bad element" and that they would not issue any more licenses but would grandfather existing licenses.
  3. i didn't realize there were hiring managers at the clubs. I thought they just let what ever girl who wants to dance at the club in. Is it true that dancers have to pay to work at the clubs? If they do, then wouldn't the club make more by having more dancers come to the club?
  4. I did not realize that happens to dancers. By the way, i think i have seen more than 5 black dancers at Barbarellas and Pigale before. Additional Comments: I was wondering which clubs have this limit. I have seem more than 5 black dancers at Pigale and Barbarella before. By the way, how do the managers know which dancers are bringing in the customers? Do they count how many times they go to the champagne room or do they ask the bouncers? Just wondering because without these metrics they would have no idea whether a certain dancer is bringing in the customers or not. I guess they could be guessing ??
  5. Good advice. I won't be pressured by a dancer to tip her. In my opinion $20 for a 3 minute dance is enough. I guess if i were a millionaire then i would not worry about it. Additional Comments: I suppose you are right. It does not go over well with me, as i will not ask that dancer to dance again. Additional Comments: I am not that surprised that they ask for this in the States more frequently because people tend to be a bit more aggressive there. Not sure why in Toronto they ask for tips more, i guess its expensive to live there.
  6. I was at Pigale a couple weeks ago and I had three dances from a dancer in the champagne room. Anyways when I went to pay her $60, she asked for a tip. I was thinking this is kind of wierd, I just got three mediocre dances from a dancer and she asks for a tip. Anyways, i refused gave her the $60 and left. I thought this was pretty bold of her that she asks someone for a tip, especially since i did not talk to her upstairs before the dances so its not like she spent any time with me. One more thing, the dancer is from Toronto. Is that a normal thing in Toronto or is it a normal thing in Ottawa and I don't know about it. I have gone to strip clubs in Ottawa/Gatineau and Montreal and i have not encountered this before.
  7. I wonder why they have this rule. How does the owner know what the clientele may be looking for on a particular day. Seems to me the owner is possibly hurting his own business. Would it be because there are too many dancers out there that want to dance at a certain club? I think if you ask most men, they don't really care if there are a lot of dancers. In fact I view that as a good thing. The more the better, as that means there is more choice for me.
  8. Sounds fishy to me. Especially since you do not know her. I would not send her money.
  9. I was wondering is it normal for the Playmate to have over 16 dancers on a Thursday afternoon? I have never been there. How many dancers are usually there on a Friday or Saturday night? Are they top notch dancers?
  10. Good to hear that no one else has heard about any war. I guess living in the US has taught me to be a lot more conscious about the other people around you and possible threats to my safety. Incidently, i don't remember seeing motorcycle members in other clubs and infrequently at Barbs.
  11. I forgot to post this a few weeks ago, but i saw a motorcycle or around 10 to 15 in Barb's called the Red Devils. I did a search on Google and they appear to be a minor league affiliate of the Hells Angels. They kept to themselves and the bouncers seemed to know them. I am not really familiar with the crime scene in Ottawa. How dangerous is it to be in the club when that motorcycle is there. Are there any wars going on that anyone knows about? When i lived in the US, there frequently was violence where motorcycle gangs hung out so it was usually a smart move to avoid these places. A lot of times there are other criminals that do not get along with the motorcycle gangs and there would be violence i.e. - shootings. Thoughts on whether to avoid this place if the Red Devils are there? I just don't want to be caught in a gun battle or any other fight.
  12. i think there are still $10 dances in the Montreal area. Laval has a few clubs and they were $10 a dance (last year). I am not sure about other clubs on the island.
  13. I haven't been to Barefax in years, but why don't you go and ask the other dancers there or the staff. They might know
  14. wow, $50 per dance is a bit much. I know I would not do it. Probably a good thing they don't charge that much in Ottawa otherwise the clubs and the dancers would go bankrupt.
  15. I was thinking that one of the reasons why it is quiet in the strip clubs is because the economy is not great. Everything has gone up in price over the years and people's salaries have not kept pace. Its just a theory but perhaps the strip clubs expensive $7+ beers, $20 dances, $6 cover charges are influencing people to not go there. On top of that the strip clubs could provide better service and facilities. For example when i went to the nuden earlier this year, it was so dark, it was hard to see. The champagne rooms had lousy couches with no backing so you were practically lying down in there. Plus there was no privacy in the champagne rooms, it was basically 1 big room. Maybe the strip clubs should do a little more to warrant their high prices.
  16. I forgot to post this in April. I was there about a month ago on a Saturday night and it was pretty empty. There were maybe 7 dancers and maybe 20 people in the place. I was wondering whether that is normal for a Saturday night, as that should be the busiest night of the week, shouldn't it? I stayed for a beer and then left. Is that the way Barbs always is? I wasn't too impressed with the dancers.
  17. Why do you have to limit your choices to only one club? Hotels are better in Ottawa. If i were you I would probably go to Barbs, Bare Fax and Pigale in one night providing your bank roll will cover it.
  18. i would leave your co-worker behind. Lie if you have to but don't stay in your hotel room for 3 weeks. I do not know of any classy strip clubs in Montreal.
  19. I had never been to the Nuden before so I thought i would write a review of what i thought about it. Went there last weekend. There was a $6 cover charge. The bouncer runs the cash and there is no coat check there so you are expected to wear your jacket in the club. I guess the only good thing about this is that you don't have to tip the bouncer. I find it a little strange that there is no coat check. I guess they must not realize it is winter outside and everyone has a heavy jacket. I found it very dark in the club. There is black light throughout the club. The bathroom is dark and lit dimly, I don't really get the reason for this. The club is really big so there are many tables for everyone. The stage is really high so no one sat at the stage. The place is clean. The champagne room is a dark dimly lit room on the first floor. There is no privacy in the champagne room. Everything is completely open. I found this a little irritating as there was a dancer and customer that came and sat on the couch next to me and the dancer who was dancing for me as they are right next to you and you can hear there so clearly. The couches are too soft. The couches in the champagne room have a cushion that is supposed to be a back rest but it is more like a pillow so if you lean back you will be almost laying down. Not sure what they were thinking with a setup like this. You have to watchout about losing your keys or loose change on this couch. The dances were $20 in the champagne room. I didn't try the food there but I did see a couple menus and I saw people eating so I guess it must have been ok. There seemed to be around 10-15 dancers there. The club really has a long way to go to be considered a first rate club. I am guessing whoever is running the club never thought about what things are like from a customer point of view. I give it a 5 out of 10.
  20. I don't think it is unsafe at the ones I have gone to: Pigale's, Bare fax and Barb's. Having lived in the US before, I have a pretty good radar for when things are safe and when you have to watch out. Ottawa is a pretty safe city.
