another survey .. may as well do this one too!! the results are encouraging! although there are some seriously moronic comments below the survey. I'm having a hard time keeping my comments polite... average age of a sex worker entering the biz is 13....it's mathematically impossible. so frustrating to read that over and over again. participate and comment please!! http://www.cbc.ca/day6/blog/2014/03/06/rethinking-prostitution-doc-and-talk/

Why is sex work so heavily stigmatized?
Miss Jessica Lee replied to a topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
very interesting thread .. love the comments such a variety of input. I have a couple of comments...can't remember who said what and it's too much to quote, so forgive me not crediting those who said.... the bit about how women hate the idea of 'whores' being available to their husbands. Big time I agree with this. Wives who don't give their husbands sex are bound to be freaking out about the laws changing... you think? Sex workers stigmatizing eachother ... I am well educated and have never used the term 'courtesan' in any advertising. I have also never felt those using it were somehow making themselves out to be better, or classier, or more educated. The reason, for me, is that it simply sounds sooo serious. No offence to anyone using the term, it's classy and sounds nice. But I'm a fun, silly, relaxed person, and the term just doesn't suit me at all. I'm a temporary girlfriend, a pleasure provider, or something. I used the term 'hooker' on another board and got grief for using it, but it wasn't meant in any way to be derogatory. it's just a word, really. People used to look at smokers years ago, and it was a status symbol, a sign of wealth, of social standing. Now people look at smokers mostly with disdain, sometimes even with disgust. It takes years to change people's opinions of any behaviour. -
Besides being legally risky, it's a huge safety risk. Some ladies won't even visit a private home for an outcall ... in this situation there is no address for your contact, no land line for verification... it's a big risk so don't be offended if you're having difficulty finding someone to agree. I have a regular client who drives long distance and I also drive across canada when on tour, and we have met in his truck for some naughty fun .. but I'd never consider it with someone I didn't know or trust.

this question has come up on every "ask a provider" thread I've ever seen, and the answer is invariably the same gc1968. If you expect a lady to go on an extended vacation you need to expect to pay her for the week, as well as all expenses incurred. Why would I go on vacation with a stranger when I could go on vacation with friends or family? I am not able to relax completely when with someone I don't know. I'm not able to enjoy the activities I choose, when I choose them, as I would if I were on my own vacation. Especially if as you suggest, you intend to have me on call for sex, compensated on a "per-service" basis. With all due respect, the concept is bizarre and I'm just surprised anyone would expect that.

**** I know this is the wrong section, but I have no idea where this belongs. Maybe it can be moved? I just saw this announcement it's terribly short notice but if anyone is in the city and wants to attend I thought I should share it... Our Bodies, Our Work, OUR SAY! Feb 13, 2014 Maggie's: The Toronto Sex Worker Action Project will be hosting a sex worker community consultation meeting for current and former sex workers (ONLY) on Friday February 28th at 1pm. This consultation meeting is the first of many consultation and advocacy initiatives organized by the Sex Workersâ?? Community Consultation and Advocacy Project (SWCCAP) a sex worker-led initiative bringing together sex workers from all sectors of the industry, including street-based and indoor workers, doms/subs, massage providers and dancers, to mobilize, strategize and discuss the current climate of prostitution law reform in Canada. SWCCAP's mission is to center the voices of sex workers within the policy and law-making process in order to promote decriminalization as well as bring to the forefront the needs and desires of sex workers. By bringing sex workers to the table, we are working to challenge and change the dominant legal and political structures that impact our lives and our work. As a grassroots initiative, the project will create spaces for sex workers to share our experiences and ideas, as we are experts on the impact of prostitution law. While this project focuses on law reform post-Bedford, our long-term aim is to build and strengthen the sex workersâ?? rights movement in Toronto. Sex workers know what they need to be safe and live with dignity. SWCCAP will act as a medium giving sex workers in Toronto the opportunity to participate in this historical moment. Often the voices of sex workers are silenced and excluded from these very important debates and discussion that consequently shape and determine our future. We refuse to be excluded and through this project will demand that policy and lawmakers listen. The Conservative party has already indicated that they are interested in applying the Nordic Model, which criminalizes the purchase of sex, to the Canadian context. Research has demonstrated that the Nordic model harms sex workers by creating dangerous working conditions. The rhetoric of this model suggests that it â??helps prostituted womenâ? by attempting to end demand for sexual services through the criminalization of clients. This condescending approach strips sex workers of their agency, takes away their right to self-determination, and denies their ability to consent to sexual activities. Our consultation project will assert the agency and the right to self-determination for sex workers, and bring our views and directives into this debate. Come out and have your say! All genders and experiences welcome! http://maggiestoronto.ca/news?news_id=117

the sushi plate date was most certainly his idea.... ;) I would never serve anything that might turn someone off, I think that would be common sense. You notice sushi wasn't on my list of offering ... too difficult to keep fresh, and not necessarily everyone's favourite. I wouldn't serve nuts either .. too many allergies and I'm pretty sure anaphylaxis is a major turn off ;)

Sometimes I find during an extended visit of 2 or more hours I get the munchies lol... especially if the rendezvous happens to be right over lunch or dinner and we hadn't planned a meal. I always offer a glass of wine, a beer, or something non alcoholic depending on my guest's preference, or the time of day, and a snack is always a nice little extra. If you were offered some nibbles during an encounter, would you partake? if so, what would you most enjoy?

please first forgive my complete ignorance as I'm not very tech savvy... but my webmaster changed my site on the last update and now it actually changes itself to accommodate whatever screen size it's being viewed on. Haven't got the foggiest idea what that's called, but I bet someone here does! I used to have a mobile site and a regular site, but with all the different screen sizes now, phones, tablets, netbooks, laptops varying so much it's very convenient. If you check my site out on your laptop screen right now, enter past the disclaimer, and then just minimize the screen slowly you will see what I mean. When it's small enough it will change to 'mobile mode' Coolest. Thing. Ever.

I'm with Kyra, I don't like either and I don't really feel either term describes me. I'm a mature woman experience, that's all :) -

Manitoba endorses Nordic model
Miss Jessica Lee replied to Regent's topic in Escort Discussion for Winnipeg
Swan said the law should target the demand for sexual services while helping sex-trade workers get the addiction counselling, mental-health services and training they need to get off the streets. I think I'm going to throw up. This comment is completely disgusting. I might have to join Facebook and tell him so. Everyone in Manitoba should be online completing this survey. It's a public consultation by the Justice Department on the future legislation. Have your voices heard! http://www.justice.gc.ca/eng/cons/curr-cours/proscons-conspros/index.html#2014_02_17 -
