its not easy to put this out there... but here goes :) I think I must be doing something wrong here, because I have difficulties in Ottawa / Pembroke that I don't experience in other areas of the province. I know that some cities have their own way of doing things ... and maybe someone can give me some direction and some tips to help me avoid this difficulty in the future. I advertise well in advance, I am well established and well reviewed. I offer a good service, post real & recent pics, and I'm reliable. However, I don't usually accept last minute bookings from gents I don't already know. So I end up in trouble when I visit Ottawa... cause for some reason I am always plagued with a rash of last minute cancellations and sometimes no shows. Touring is not easy, driving in the winter is challenging. I have had my share of challenges with winter weather this year (gawd. have I ever!) but I always make it to where I'm going and I'm (almost..sorry Timmins!) always on time. It's endlessly frustrating to drive for hours through dangerous conditions only to have your appointments cancel on you at the last minute. Is Ottawa more of a "book last minute" kind of city? Should I show up anyways, despite cancellations... and just be more willing to accept short notice bookings (with a reference, of course)? I post here and on the other ontario boards, but I don't like backpage ... should I give it a try? I should probably add that I'm not in Pembroke as advertised, nor am I headed to Ottawa as planned tomorrow. I just came home. As Ottawa veterans I'm asking for your advice... both ladies and gents. Any help is appreciated. Thanks for reading :)

thanks for posting this Emily. I had someone provide a 'fake' reference once long ago, and now I insist upon seeing a website and contact via email to verify the validity of the reference. It's also important to me that the lady be someone they have seen within the last six months. I check every reference too. It's bizarre to me that any gent would want to see someone that isn't comfortable seeing them, but it's something I've experienced too. Almost like when I said "no thank you" it became a personal challenge to somehow try to get around that. I wonder if sometimes rejection by a sex professional, even when done tactfully, is more than some can easily accept.

I'm doing THE most boring continuing education course online... gawd this is awful. I can surf cerb at the same time its moving so slowly. uugghh...

got new wheels! well ... I got the same model of vehicle I was driving previously because I really loved it, so it's really not much different ... but it's much nicer and newer and shinier than the other one, and it's all mine... so it's still exciting. Picking it up tomorrow or Tuesday :D woot woot!

I was trotting into the grocery store recently and a gentleman was on his way out. I can't remember what was on my mind but it had me smiling...so when he looked at me and I gave him the biggest, warmest smile. He appreciated it so much he actually said to me "well that's a wonderful smile! so infectious!" and he smiled just as brightly as he walked past me and towards his car. It's guaranteed he passed it on to someone he encountered afterwards. It's more contagious than the common cold.... smile and the world smiles with you :D

I agree with the majority that they are useful and important as a tool to recognize the valuable contributions members make ... I just know that I can never respond to them all, so I just don't participate in them. So here's my happy birthday wish to you all this year and every year.... and my congratulations go to all the members here, for all your posts, forever :)

so I've had a ridiculous week. Without going into too much detail ... I've been from feeling like I'd lost a lot, to feeling like I might have gained. A lot. Have you ever had one of those experiences where you lose out on something big that you loved / wanted / needed ...(and are totally bummed) ... only to have something else comes along that's not only equal but actually better? And you find yourself grateful that you didn't get stuck with the first thing you wanted? so far I'm not only even steven ... I'm winning. Definitely winning. .......and then the feeling that the second shoe still has to drop...? Are things gonna level back out again? uugghh... am I a total pessimist? ( I feel like one...) should I enjoy the win and stop thinking negative thoughts? or should I be extra careful when stepping out in traffic? anyone else got an 'even steven' story? or better?
