A question for the men about clothing
henryporter replied to MickeyG's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
I would prefer the second look. I find it really sexy when a woman has the sophisticated look. Also not sure if the schoolgirl look would come off as trying too hard. JMO H -
That is definitely a big problem. Reform the above and after a month you will be writing and asking how can i get rid of constant hard ons? It doesn't get much worse than what you described. I should know.

Do you exercise? If you don't you should Eat right and exercise. http://www.beerbellyblues.com You don't need the book really. If you can get off meds because you are not seriously sick then you should be able to get your T back in full force.

Awww come on. You are putting a damper on our ravenous consumer appetite. We want stuff. Lots of stuff. One of everything and maybe 2 or 3. We don't care too much about quality or ethics for the most part. Why pay a license fee or royalty when you can by a knock off almost as good? Thats what China gives us and by and large as a society we have lined up to the trough. I think maybe the tide is turning and we are getting smarter. Buying domestic feels good and its feeling better all the time. Made in China is always my last choice right now.

Husband of a Wife suffering from mental illness
henryporter replied to Happyjack's topic in Fun Threads
I hesitate to ask this because it might seem insensitive. But I can't make a connection between depression and anxiety and not travelling business class. Unless you are used to it how would it cause you to worry about it. I'm not being judgemental here. Just trying to learn. The OP seems to have a good handle on things and appreciates his monthly diversion to keep him going. Do your best Jack, and stay strong. -
I doubt it would be accepted. 2 consecutive trips to the SB is exceptional. Shit happens but there is no way Pete Carroll gets fired or even considered being replaced. He would be re-hired by another team so fast (with probably a bigger contract) that you wouldn't have time to say "bad pass" He will however say "WTF did we do that for" a few thousand time before the beginning of training camp.
-
The Pats just can't seem to play a SB that doesn't have an element of weirdness. It was a weird ending for sure. Deflategate is silly. Guys in the NFL have money problems, drug problems, domestic abuse issues, brain injury issues and the big story is that the footballs aren't full of enough air? That is silly.

Why do you ask so many questions? lol Cristy. lol I think there are plenty of explanations for all those questions but I would venture to say that its just a condition of participating in this business. A guys attention span is sometimes limited to the next shiny object we see. When a new on comes along we chase that and forget about the last. The ladies contribute too because they make themselves irresistible so unless you limit your browsing and communication to one or 2 ladies its like going to the liquor store and being allowed to have any bottle of wine for free but you can only pick one. You're gonna check out quite a few and even put a couple in the cart and then put them back. Its hard to decide. Then you swear its the best wine you ever had but if the offer is repeated the next week we'll repeat the process pick something different. The anonymous nature of the business has to contribute as well. If Henry stiffs you on a deco no one will care and no one know who Henry is anyway. And sometimes its just hard to make schedules work. When you want to see the lady she's busy and when she's waiting the guy can't make it. I'm not making any excuses here either. Maybe there's a few ladies out there that think your post was about me.

I am willing to get behind any lady that wears a short skirt and loves to play with fuzzy balls. As far as Genie Bouchard is concerned I watched her at Wimbledon last summer and she had a tough go of it, but to reach that level in any professional sport is an amazing feat. She's only 20 years old and I believe she is currently without a coach. Once she gets that sorted out she will hopefully go on to do great things. Gotta love Canadian women.

oil- the highs and lows
henryporter replied to CristyCurves's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Okay boys lets not get too side tracked and start getting on the government to much. You can go on about that stuff and the back and for will be like a world championship ping pong match. I don't think any of the parties or leaders are better suited than the other these days. My reason for participating on this thread is that I do believe that we are to a large degree seeing some real tangible savings that will show up in our pockets due to the decline in the price of oil. Of course anyone that is directly affected by the price drop will beg to differ. Personally I believe that my savings are a couple of hundred a month between gas at the pump and heating oil. Depending on how long that keeps up its a pretty nice amount of money to be putting in my pocket. Put that together with the lowest interest rates we have ever seen post WW2 and we should be a little more optimistic. All that may change if the economy goes for a dump because of the price of oil but for now, so far so good. This is a dynamic situation that will evolve and keep us guessing. As for the future price of a barrel I think that $60 -70 may be the highest we see for a couple of years from all the news I have heard. Any other guesses? -

I agree with Ice that as an observer and investor there is money to be made especially if you see such a drastic move in pricing. As Pete said if you pay attention to Canadian and US markets then you can also profit from changes in the markets. Both are giving great advice here for anyone thinking about investments. For everyone else just taking advantage of saving the difference between a $1.25 versus the new $.85 (give or take) at the pump you can probably put away a few bucks for savings or averaging out future price increases. And think a bit about the Burger King... I mean Tim's (or is BK getting the profits now?) sitting their idling your car for the the mediocre overpriced coffee. More savings. And nobody seems to remember but last year at this time wasn't propane and natural gas prices through the roof? Also if you have a Prime plus loan or line of credit I think that is cheaper too. Wonder what my net gain is factoring in all the components? Interesting question. -

No the world isn't coming to an end... yet. However the chance has come up to have a discussion and hopefully some of us can learn and thats always a good thing. Pistol Pete posted that he bought US dollars when the dollar was closer to parity. Smart move. I would have liked to be in the position to do the same but wasn't. There was no real downside to doing it either. Now the USD is kicking the Euro's ass and Pete may be even better of going to Europe for a little R&R. Paying attention to this type of thing is a good idea and a little discussion can open even the blueeyez. lol Funny thing this morning i was looking at an online copy of The Ottawa Citizen from 1981. Seems you could get around 14 percent interest on some term deposits. How is that possible? (pointing out the high rate of interest at this time) Oh ya things change and paying attention is a good thing. -

Now there is a really bad idea. This country is still bloated with entitlement and the govt getting deeper in debt really is no solution. The cost of living is high because WE the people created it. Go by a Tim Hortons in the morning and tell me we are bad off or anyone really gives a shit about others who are. When we line up like cattle for 10 minutes to pay 2 bucks for a shitty cup of coffee then then we have too much time and money. How many people are doubling down on their good fortune that oil and gas prices have dropped? How about saving that money (in an account and liquid) as well as cutting out your Tims and other luxuries for a while? Think anyone will? Nope they will buy a vacation on credit which they think that they will pay off with the savings which are already being spent on something else anyway. Then come tax time they will will bitch and moan about how much tax they pay and wait for the refund to pay off most of the crap they bought that they don't need in the first place. Kinda been like that forever I think and its what got us here in the first place. -

Old Blue Eyes is fast becoming a favourite. Its definitely a conspiracy. I'm pretty sure that this guy was not involved but he does shed some light on the situation. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UrOZllbNarw Myself I am going to enjoy the saving from every tankful. i'm going to enjoy the .75 prime rate that was just announced. Its just another economic cycle and the sky isn't falling. Well.... maybe in Europe where the Euro just has gone into the shitter. Or maybe Greece or Spain. Or somewhere like that. The guys at the top have been busy. -
To do indirect cooking you only need one burner on. What I would try. Get some wood chips at Canadian Tire or one of the BBQ stores like the Fireplace Centre. You soak those for an hour or 2 in water and then drain and wrap up in tin foil to make a sealed bag. Then poke some holes in the top. Maybe use an alumni pie tin and cover with foil. You are just trying to create smoke. Place this on top of the burner or flavour bars, lava rock whatever. Turn on one burner and get to about 250 degrees. Put ribs on the side that is not lit and a pie tin of water on the lit side. What you are trying to make is low cooking temperature with nice clean smoke and with some moisture. Experiment with this using without using a bunch of ribs. Every grill is different and it a game of patience and learning
-
What is your burner configuration on your grill? If you can turn off one or 2 then you can do indirect cooking and get a decent result. And I guess the other question is if you are looking for more authentic ribs like they would have at Ribfest or a more commercial version? Baton Rouge btw are like an upscale McRib if comparing to something from a southern BBQ place. Nothing wrong with them if you like the taste and texture but if you are looking for real BBQ then they don't really rank. Apples and oranges kind of thing.

Line2 Burner If you have an iPhone these 2 are good ones and not expensive. Burner I think just gives you a number you can "burn". You buy credits that expire but you can keep creating new numbers while you have credit. Interesting concept -
Its very difficult to do ribs on a gas BBQ. You need smoke and slow cooking to achieve what Jabba is looking for. Get a Weber charcoal grill or a Kamado grill if you can spend a few more dollars. Try either of these and a gas grill is just going to sit there unless you need a sock dryer. Keep it simple too. Find a rib rub recipe and try that out and adjust to your taste. Keep the sauce simple too with as few ingredients as possible to get your taste. Ribs need to cook about 4-6 hours anyway and at a low temperature and they basically just sit in the grill. No more difficult than baking a cake in terms of dealing with the oven. You can serve dry with salt and pepper if required or with sauce on the side. Brushing on sauce to coat them is an optional way to make them but not really the way BBQ is done. NO CEDAR! Save that for storing cigars. Here's a nice place to start some research. http://www.saveur.com/article/Recipes/Kansas-City-Style-Spareribs-with-Barbecue-Sauce Good luck with it.

Locker room type behaviour?
henryporter replied to a topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
This thread is kinda complicated now and I'm a bit of a simpleton. Is it valid to wonder how many other "groups" around the world are communicating privately about potentially harmful things that would affect innocent people if one or more of the group decided to act? I am under the impression that this was exposed before anyone acted out any part of the discussion. Punishments are what they are whether too weak or too strong but the fact remains that participation in something like this can be "joking" (very loosely used) or something that goes completely wrong and ends in the worst possible way. If 4th year university students are that dumb we should worry for ourselves. Not them. -

They are kids even though they are in 4th year university. That seems to be the norm these days and guys like to live at home until they are 30. Oh and real men don't get emasculated. They just don't. -

Jessica and Parker look smoking hot so I will agree with them on this and everything else. Seriously though I have read a bit about this and tried to keep up with the comments on this thread. These guys are just childish and have not yet even developed into men. When they do they may become even more scary and dangerous or turn into decent humans by learning from their mistakes. In the present they deserve what they get in terms of the shit that gets flung their way. Its got nothing to do with China or Russia or the fact that we are on here as CONSENTING adults going about our business. I value my privacy and that of everyone else. Facebook would not be my first choice to keep something private so they deserve whatever they get from trusting that platform our the group that was using it. They seem to lack simple respect for women, themselves and anyone else that may be impacted by their thoughts and possible actions. And for that there is a price to pay. -

Maybe ask the guy that financed her trip last year how it worked out. If he gives it the thumbs up, you are good to go.
