I quite realize that I am preaching to the converted with anything that I write here. The legislation that has been tabled is still very recent and needs ample study before any of us will know exactly what it means in reality. Even at this early stage however there are a number of areas that are open to rational discussion. In any piece of legislation or law there is the intent and then there is the reality that will eventually be interpreted by a court, or in this case, probably multiple courts. In watching the news conference yesterday delivered by Peter MacKay his intent was very clear. His intent is to criminalize anyone who purchases sex, regardless of age, sex or circumstance. His bias and lack of knowledge was so apparent with his use of the word perverts to describe me as a client. He did refer to the ability for the use of discretion from the police and that could be taken as a positive, however, discretion does not substitute for solid legal standing. In a small and conservative jurisdiction such as PEI and probably in many other rural areas in this country, I CAN see the police focusing resources on visiting SP's and from them reaching to their clients with full intent to press charges. The intent of Mr MacKay is to save all of you ladies from yourselves. His equated you with drug users, abused women and women who are controlled by others all in the same quote. Enough said on that. I already have read here in this thread discussion and confusion about the ability for sex workers to advertise. His words were very clear - advertising will be liable to criminal charges if done in any public place, and in that exact sentence he defined a public space by including the word internet. That is clearly the intent, and it will unfortunately be in court that the interpretation will have to be made. I truly am distressed, and shocked by this legislation. I really did not believe that they would go this far - It's the Nordic model but way worse. The fact that they have done so leads me to believe that they will use their majority government to pass it as is. I see optimism in this thread that the Supreme Court will overturn this legislation as it did in the Bedford decision. The problem with that is that in order to take a case to court and then ultimately to the Supreme Court takes years and a great deal of money to do. In the meantime, we shall be working in an atmosphere that none of us find promising or beneficial or safe. It saddens me that this legislation has been introduced under the guise of protecting people when we already have in the existing criminal code every single law required to protect against violence, underage sex, slavery, illegal immigration and every single thing that he mentioned. Therefore the intent is not protection of sex workers but is designed solely to punish prostitutes and their clients. At the press conference the reporters asked some very pointed questions with answers that scared me. When asked about drivers and body guards, Mr MacKay would NOT say that was OK. Instead he said anyone who takes advantage monetarily of a prostitute will be charged. However accountants and lawyers for prostitutes he stipulated are quite OK. He's willing to take your tax dollars ladies. Again, there is intent vs the legal interpretation that has yet to be made in court. The entire rationale behind the Bedford decision was that the old laws increased the level of violence and impinged on the safety of sex workers. This new proposed legislation does not address that concern in the least and I fear may in fact make the profession even more dangerous than it is for sex workers. Last evening on the news I saw an interview with Emily Symons from the P.O.W.E.R. organization based in Ottawa. Kudos to you Emily for your courage, your eloquence, your emotion and may the political powers that be heed your words. Allow me to close with two thoughts. 1. How insane is it to pass a law that make the sale of something perfectly legal yet the purchase of it a major crime. Where is the logic? 2. I do not now feel like a criminal, and even if this bill is passed I will still not feel like a criminal. Many argue that this in reality will not change things. The bottom line however is this. No matter what we believe or feel, a law is a law, and we can only ignore it at our own peril.

You are SO correct with that statement Berlin. I really am in shock. I honestly did not believe they would adopt the Nordic model, much less make it even more extreme and more dangerous for everyone involved. I shall digest this a bit and write a proper response later on. I only watched the press conference and if I understood it correctly, highlights are: Men will be criminals. If you advertise on a place like Cerb you are a criminal. All women in this industry need saving.

I am at the horse races in Charlottetown. Next race my money is on a horse named "Sinners in Heaven." Sounds like a sure thing to me. :) Afraid he did not win. Have a good evening everyone. :) -
sexy and it's age limit
mrrnice2 replied to CristyCurves's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
This is an interesting question and actually one that I have considered a great deal over the years. I was married when I was 21 to an amazing woman who was tiny, gorgeous, and sexy beyond sexy. We were together for 40 years until her death and as time progressed and years went by, I not only continued to find her sexy and attractive but more so all the time. Her sexual aura only grew for me. Since my foray into Cerb I can truthfully say that I have met with women of all ages, from close to my own which is older for sure but also to some very young hard bodied ladies. In all cases the sexy was present but ultimately the thing is that it comes down to the person and not their age or even their hard bodiedness. Who can not help but admire a young woman in her supposed,"prime," but the fact of the matter is for me that I believe that women are sexier as they mature. Now to reverse the scenario, when I look into the mirror I only see,"old." I don't feel that but I see that. I wonder if that perception for women preferring the young hard bodied man is even stronger for them than it is for men who look at women? -
As fiskaa said, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo trilogy was awesome, with each book being better than the previous one. At the moment I am well into "Outlander", by Diana Gabaldon. It is the first of a seven book set and I think I am hooked.

My Brothers Keeper... Which ones?
mrrnice2 replied to mrrnice2's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
My intention here is NOT to persuade anyone to change their giving patterns. If a goat or chickens or fruit trees are REALLY helping people then it's an awesome charitable gift. Perhaps my issue is with the lack of personal certainty that either small gifts or large multi billion dollar grants in fact get to where we want it to go? In it's simplest form I think that I just wish our funding, from whatever source, IS making a difference, a REAL difference. -

Understood and I agree with that. However if we continue to use that analogy, if I only had so many resources to help with and a family member were in trouble, that's where my help would go, not outside the family. In our Canadian family the infant mortality rate of Aboriginal women is similar to that in some of the underdeveloped countries that this funding is meant to help. Additional Comments: You are right on with this. I read today that 1 out of 4 maternal deaths in the third world are caused by botched abortions. The Harper government has already previously stopped funding the international agencies that promote family planning. -

Thanks for posting that. The blog is in two parts and may be seen here. Part One http://maggiemcneill.wordpress.com/2014/05/12/guest-columnist-molli-desi-part-one/ Part Two http://mollidesidevadasi.com/blog/ I saw in todays press release that the government will be accepting proposals from NGO's to distribute the funding. -

Today the Canadian government committed to a 3.5 billion dollar funding program that I am quite confident will have two diametrically opposed views, both of which are arguable and both of which are probably correct. The funding is a Canadian commitment to global maternal, newborn and child health with the goal of ending the preventable deaths of mothers and children under the age of five. I say Canadian government as opposed to the Harper government because my guess is that it will be supported by all political parties, although I have not yet read any reaction to this initiative. My initial thought is this, however politically incorrect it may be. No one, and no government can take care of others until they first take care of themselves. Perhaps this money could allow every single Canadian woman that is pregnant, access to milk and a proper diet that would translate into a healthier child. Perhaps this funding could supplement the 1 in 7 Canadian families that live in poverty in this great country. There are so many valid and critical areas in Canada that could use Canadian government support. I really do have difficulty with the idea of helping others around the world when we have so many here in this country that need help and I also realize how callous that sounds. Over the last few years at Christmas I have given a friend a goat, and have received a goat in return, with the goats being provided to a family in a foreign country as a means of providing them both food and milk and an income. This year I shall probably look for something in Canada that will help a Canadian that is truly in need. I believe that the fact of the matter is in this, as in so many areas, that though needs are HUGE everywhere, are we spreading our gifts and money so thin that we in reality are NOT making a real difference? Food for thought. -
Large ones, tiny ones, Firm ones, not Round ones, flat ones, They please a lot. All are good and all are great, Add chocolate syrup and we'll make a date I'm easily pleased and love em all, But truth be told, I love them small.

Congrats Ice for the milestone. Keep it up. :)

I very recently met with Midnight-Massage at her location in Halifax. This was my first Cerb meeting in way over a year and I cannot say enough good things about Tracie or our time together. We had exchanged a few emails and PM's over the last few weeks and her teasing manner with the written word carried over into reality. She has a great incall location that was easy to find and with easy and close parking. A last minute text to confirm everything and I was almost there. Stepping from the elevator of course I turned the wrong way so the long way around I went and as I approached her door a slowly beckoning finger was motioning to me from where she stood behind her door. I am even now smiling at how that set a tone for our entire time. I stepped in, the door closed and the sound of the lock clicking signalled the start of an immediate and long and truly sensual make out session. That alone would have made my visit memorable and successful. However, there was more and ever so much more indeed. Eventually a short few steps took us to her bedroom where everything was delightful with awesome subdued lighting, and a room that probably defines Tracie herself. As always for me this will be where specifics start to be omitted. Suffice to say that Tracie gave of herself and devoted herself to me alone. We had made very few specific "plans," with the hope that things would flow in their natural course and that was ever so correct. She is very into sensuality and pleasing and along with her intuitiveness she guided us to areas that I found exciting and erotic and very rarely touched upon by others. The 90 minutes that I had requested absolutely flew by and it was only in those last few remaining minutes that we had calmed down enough to have an interesting conversation. She is just as genuine, and interesting, and articulate, and nice as she shows in her on-line persona. For gentlemen from Nova Scotia or visitors to the area I have no hesitation in suggesting Tracie as a person with whom you could spend some quality time. If you read her webpage and peruse her blog then what you see and read there is the genuine person. Thank you Tracie for your time and the lovely visit. I guess this means that MN2 has officially returned to Cerb, and it was the most perfect welcome back that I could have had. MN2

I am still on my road trip but I expect to get home tomorrow. I had an awesome visit with family and we did lots of things together. I had a visit with a Cerb lady too.:) I will have another highlight later on if my Canadiens can start their comeback against the Rangers tonight. It's been a great week and I am ready to get home. :)
-
As is often the case, this highlight is cumulative. Not too long ago I had almost a week when all of my kids were home at the same time. The weather appears to have finally turned and today it was sunny and 22 and I was outside from dawn to dusk! I have had a couple of great visits with a close friend. My Canadiens won game 7. My hummingbirds although one day late this year are back and the three of them that I see so far are already scrapping over the three feeders. Silly birds. I have my first Cerb date in well over a year approaching. I am quite confident that a corner has been turned and that life is pretty darn good. Have a wonderful long weekend everyone.

I actually like the auto-reply. I suppose it is at least a confirmation that my email did go to the correct person and is at least in their inbox. As well, those ladies that I have written who do use it have always replied to me within the time guidelines that they indicated.

The other night I had a date - well, sort of a date, well, I think it was a date. It was not a paid date or paid social time. And I was a little bit nervous. My personal adviser told me to iron my shirt. I ironed my shirt. I was told to wear presentable pants and shoes. I wore presentable pants and shoes. My adviser told me to get her flowers. I got her a lovely bouquet. I had tickets for a special event at the theater and because she and I live on opposite sides of Charlottetown she suggested that we just meet a half hour ahead of the show near the box office, so that was fine and I was there of course fifteen minutes before the appointed time. I received a text from her saying that she was delayed and would be late but that she would get there when she could find a parking place. I quickly texted back saying that when you park, let me know and I will meet you. A few minutes later there was no response so I looked at my text. Fuck. Auto-correct at work. What I actually wrote her was, "When you oral, let me know and I will meet you." Lovely!!!! Oh, shit, So I really quickly wrote back and said, "Oops. That was supposed to say, I REALLY mean park." Push send. Oh shit, what went was, "I REALLY mean oral." Oh fuck. Very slowly, I typed one letter at a time. I told her to stop laughing. We had a good time, and she liked the flowers. :) There was no oral.

Thanks Meg for being a good sport and for everyone's contributions to this little fun thread. The nice thing about hockey is that, "There is always next year." Speaking of next year, I wonder. It is possible that if the sun and the moon and the stars all line up, if water starts to run uphill, if we can get blood from a stone and finally if Hell freezes over, that we could have the Leafs in the playoffs with Boston and Montreal. Wouldn't that be fun. Sounds like a threesum to me Meg. Take Care everyone, MN2

Well, it's almost game time, so I suppose I have to make my vote. It does appear Meg that there are a LOT of Canadiens fans on here, so at this point you are clearly outvoted. However, THAT was not the question was it. I believe Meg in her Boston jersey seems to have taken it. Now I understand that on Cerb when one conducts a poll, the originator of the thread has right of veto on the result, so my vote is of critical importance. I do however choose Meg in her Boston jersey, or her lingerie, or her sweats, or her birthday suit or in anything. It's all pretty thought provoking. :) Congrats Meg on the win - just that everyone else does not know what they are missing on this end! :) Good luck in the game tonight. Go Habs! MN2

Katherine, Katherine, Katherine. I understand the dilemma - kind of like the scales of justice, Meg or MN2, Meg or MN2, Meg or MN2, but I understand diversity. I haven't even decided which way to vote yet! However, Katherine, I cannot, just cannot let your last words pass. How flustered were you? Lobsters are thinking they are going to get lucky tonight. :)

With Game 7 upon us on Wednesday night and knowing Meg's bad habit of cheering for the Bruins I have had visions of her wearing her Bruins jersey, and nothing but. Of course I wear my Canadiens jersey proudly and between games it is laid out ever so neatly in preparation for the next game. or So a poll. Meg in her jersey or me in mine? Well, so much for creating a poll! That did not work! LOL I do have to apologize here to Meg as well for some unfortunate writing in my guest book. Another distinguished member and I made some rather derogatory comments about her lovely Bruins. We must have been drunk Meg, really. Certainly way deep down if we look into our heart of hearts one would find somewhere a feeling of respect for Boston. Maybe. :) Good luck in Game 7 Meg, but the rallying cry is certainly, "Go Habs Go."

Porthos - Along with many others I am sorry to see you make this departure. I am pleased however that life is developing for you in a good way, so I am sending you best wishes and kind regards. Take Care. MN2

On PEI we can almost set the calendar with the arrival of the hummingbirds. May 15th, every single year. They were sighted in Yarmouth NS on Saturday so I'd say that they are on schedule. My feeders are up and ready. VERY interesting is that the one year I was late putting feeders out in my bush the birds were in there looking for it. Therefore I conclude it is the very same birds that flew from PEI to South America and then back to my little place. Pretty neat!
