  1. Mary Ann and Redhead. Broncos or Seahawks?
  2. Happy Birthday Toine. I hope that you have a great day!
  3. There are many holidays and events for which we all seem to develop our own traditions. Do you have any for the Super Bowl? For me I always have people over for the pregame and game itself. Each year I visit the liquor store and select a variety of different individual beers and over the course of the event we do some quality taste testing. There will be lots of finger foods and supper will consist of my home made pizza burgers. They can be prepped ahead of time and then simply popped into the oven at the appropriate time. That is an important factor in food selection! I read that in the US there will be 1.25 BILLION chicken wings consumed and another place I read that if those chicken wings were placed end to end they would go back and forth between San Francisco and New York 36 times! Not a good day to be a chicken!!!! Of course I will have my little Proline bet in and have a side bet with a Cerb friend. Everyone asks who I am cheering for so that they know to bet on the other team. My success rate in picking winners is not exemplary! If you are a fan, do you have any traditions that you look forward to every year? By the way - Go Seahawks!
  4. Hey RG. That is an anniversary well worth recognizing. Thanks for all your contributions to Cerb.
  5. I am one of the lucky ones and stay at least in reasonably good shape without going to a gym or that sort of thing. It must be in part my metabolism, but I suppose it may be that I rarely stop. Once April rolls around I am outdoors in gardens, and on the property working. In the winter I do renovations inside. I hope that if and when I start to fall out of shape that I will have the drive to do something about it! I have huge respect for those who are so conscientious in their biking or jogging or aerobics and all of those sorts of things.
  6. Seeing familiar "faces," through their writing, of people who I have wondered about in the last year when I was gone. Receiving little PM's and welcome back notes on threads from Cerb members and knowing that many of these same people contacted me when I left asking if I was OK. Yup, it's a Cerb community, even in reality.
  7. Thanks Cristy. I am a HUGE football fan but for many years I also looked forward to the commercials as much as I looked forward to the game. The CRTC eventually stepped in to regulate what we were as Canadians allowed to watch and what we weren't so unfortunately we now have to see them via links such as the one that you posted in your original post here. I have always enjoyed the Budweiser commercials that feature the Clydesdale horses and I see that they have another one out for this year. However I try to keep my priorities straight, so it's, "Go Seahawks."
  8. Well well well. CTV News this morning is reporting that Veterans Affairs is planning to close some PTSD clinics in Quebec and is carrying out surveillance on Veterans who are presently claiming benefits. Why does this not surprise me. As well I have not received any response to my note to the PM's office.
  9. Well an interesting game this year for sure. I am sure that Denver is a favorite with Peyton Manning and his experience and his corps of receivers. Seattle with the upstart Russell Wilson and their super defense will make it close. I became a Seattle fan last year so I am going for Seattle, but it would be an upset victory. I am hoping for a great and close game! Go Seahawks!
  10. I am just back into Cerb after almost a years absence and am happy to see this thread still going strong and more so to see RG being his still consistent positive self. I like RG for being the voice of respect and for being a rock of the Cerb community.
  11. We all have our own opinions and I really wonder if anyone in the government listens to anything a regular Canadian says, but I just sent the following to the PM. I wonder if he will even bother to reply with anything except a form letter. For those who do like to send input on any topic this is where you can contact him. http://www.pm.gc.ca/eng/contact Mr Prime Minister, I have never written before but following last nights events and your responses in Question Period today I simply have to indicate that I feel terribly concerned about the way that you and your Minister are treating our Veterans. Mr Fantino was rude and disrespectful to our Veterans by arriving an hour and a half late to their scheduled meeting, and was then rude and disrespectful to the gentlemen who served our country. Furthermore, to watch you stand in the House and support him was even more of an insult to our Veterans. For the last several years it has been one incident after another in which your government has gone out of their way to cut benefits for our Veterans, cut services for our Veterans and generally cause them to question the value that your government and you personally place on their contributions to our country. You, your Minister and your government should be ashamed of yourselves.
  12. Not being a particularly adventurous traveler I probably still would prefer staying in North America. I have been in every province and would go back to camp in Gros Morne National Park in Newfoundland in a heartbeat. There is still so much for me to do as a tourist in Ottawa. Dawson City and the North have great appeal as does a city such as San Francisco. Lots of places to go yet!
  13. I thought of putting this in the Things that Suck thread, but this is in fact where it should go. I have been moving to this decision for a very very long time and should have done it months ago, but I have asked Mod to delete my account. This is not my world. I don't really know what my world is anymore, but I do intend to find it. :) There are many here who have made a very important and positive difference in my life and I shall miss them a great deal, but this is right. Best of luck everyone and I shall think of you all fondly and with great respect. With Love and Affection, MN2
  14. Trying to clarify my Little Green Bars question. Here is a screen shot of a page from a thread that shows what I mean. Is it just me or is it everyone that cannot see the name of the member who posted a comment or thank you?
  15. The last two days here in PEI have been quite lovely, relatively mild but most importantly we had blue sky and lots of sun. I spent goodly amounts of time in my greenhouse where it reached 30+ degrees. I won't say that I did much work out there but I did sit and read and think and relax. It is one of my own little escape zones that I truly appreciate.
  16. Where I feel most at peace with myself is probably at home. In particular I love the fact that it is a rural property with the chance to have mega bonfires and on a nice evening with a new moon I get opportunity to simply sit and relax and watch as the flights to Europe pass over, with the Milky Way totally visible and stars beyond stars shining in the sky.
  17. Wishing you a wonderful birthday Emily. For you, your own private plane.
  18. It has just been a very good day. I started a little experiment called winter sowing - and I started some seeds outside under the snow. Now to be honest I cannot believe that this will work, however for the price of a few seeds and some free labor, it is rather interesting. :) Makes me anticipate my flower gardens!
  19. A Valentines Day Viewpoint With Valentines Day upon us it causes me think about many things. Valentines Day is traditionally a day in which love is expressed, flowers and chocolates are given to a loved one, sweet nothings are whispered, one may choose to go out to a nice restaurant, all lovely things. I really never enjoyed Valentines Day because I found it so artificial. All of the things mentioned above I really did do on a very regular basis, not because I was 'expected' to do so but because I liked to do so. Now when Valentines Day comes around for me it is one of the saddest days of the year.
  20. Can anyone tell me why I have little green bars beside wherever anyone posted a thank you or an add to reputation comment? I see the comments but not the name of the sender. This is the same on my posts as well as everyone elses that I look at.
  21. I can thank the weather Gods that on my last visit to Ottawa a storm here at home caused me to spend an extra night in our nations capital city. Having a free evening and seeing that Gabriella had just returned from a tour made my contact with her almost predetermined and an opportunity that I could not pass up. I was equally fortunate that the timing worked, as I normally seek out and confirm arrangements weeks ahead of time. It was not only the weather Gods that were with me. I invited her to my downtown hotel and although it was not at all to the standard that she entertains me in when I see her in Halifax or Saint John, the lack of having a sitting room, a fireplace and an extra large tub built for two did not put any sort of a damper on our evening. Upon opening my door I was met with her great smile and my first look at her new hairstyle(which I really liked). Our hug was instantaneous and mutual and we both had a genuine gleam in our eyes upon seeing each other again. Our conversation ranged from topic to topic as we caught up on the many months that we have had between visits. At one point she was laughing so hard and had me laughing so hard at a story that I thought I was going to have to call 911. Gabriella is an incredibly interesting person who is really easy to talk with. Maybe it was fortunate that I did not have that sitting room because laying on the bed and cuddling and talking was pretty hot and wandering hands certainly led to other things that shall remain between she and I. Gabriella is a lady who enjoys exploring her sexuality and really enjoys helping me to explore my own. She has shared and taught me many things and did so again on this visit and for that a great thank you goes to her from me. I feel confident that she and I shall meet again and for those of you who would enjoy meeting a woman to spend true quality time with then you certainly should make contact with Gabriella. Thank you again Gabriella for a wonderful evening. MN2
  22. I recently had the opportunity to visit with Nathalie. It's been my great pleasure to have had several meetings previously with Nathalie and when I was planning this trip to Ottawa I contacted her to see if we might coordinate our schedules. Luckily for me it all worked out. As always she was prompt with her replies, very easy to communicate with and she went out of her way to accommodate me. She is a most delightful young woman with a joie de vivre and personality second to none. On this trip I was fortunate enough initially to see her for a few minutes at the social and when we met it was simply reconnecting with a friend. The following day we spent a significant amount of time together and every moment was a delight. She agreed to my request and we went for our second visit together to the Nordik Spa, a quiet, romantic and indeed spiritual environment . We enjoyed several cycles through the hot baths and saunas, interspersed with walks under an ice cold waterfall before relaxing in the meditative atmosphere of a chalet where we warmed up in front of a roaring fire. Leaving the spa we enjoyed an informal meal together and then proceeded to her location. Sipping wine and conversing made the evening slip by far too quickly. She is quick to laugh and that along with her smile is infectious. As always I do not share much of what happens behind closed doors. She and I have shared some wonderfully sensual and incredible make out sessions in the past and equally sensual and incredible experiences beyond that. On this occasion I felt a degree of intimacy that touched me deeply and the evening will be one that I shall always recall. She is indeed a sincere companion and once again I feel privileged for having the opportunity to have shared so many things with her. Gentlemen, if the opportunity arises and you can arrange to spend time with Nathalie you will be indeed fortunate. She is a unique and special person with a heart of gold. Thank you Nathalie for all that you have done for me not only on this visit but over time. Until next time..... MN2
  23. As I tend to do this is a cumulative highlight. I arrived back home yesterday from Ottawa after a REALLY good trip away. I was at the social last Thursday night and it was its usual success. I am really not a big crowd person but I still managed to reacquaint with some old friends and meet some new ones. I also spent significant time with a wonderful lady on Friday. :) Due to a major snowstorm on Saturday here at home my flight was cancelled and I ended up staying for an extra day in Ottawa. It was a gorgeous day and I spent quite a bit of time in and around some of the Winterlude outdoor events. I have never seen ice sculpture other than in pictures so to see them up close and in detail was pretty cool. I had opportunity to have some really good conversation with not one put two incredible women. Between them they taught me yet another life lesson. At times I can be a slow learner and to them a great big thank you. When all is said and done it was a fantastic trip and one that I shall always treasure. :)
