Thanks to those who have contributed to this thread and it's particularly nice to see some people who used to write some really good posts jumping back in. Like Sophia who has perhaps analyzed this change more than I have, I don't see this as a legal question. Maybe it's as Berlin said that times change and people change and that time is an issue. I do know that I have seen newer members ask a question or make a point to be directed by a long term member to a previous thread. Been there and done that and though I am at least reasonably intelligent I have never yet figured out the search function to any degree of satisfaction so my thoughts are to newer members to ask away, to contribute and to start new discussions. This has always been a truly respectful site to me It's like an adult version of Facebook and those few times that someone has been trolling or disrespectful I simply have ignored and then all seems good. Every single one of us on here, SP or client, has opinions and thoughts and beliefs on a wide range of topics and I think I can say that many of us enjoy reading about the variety of things that make our lives interesting. It's a dull day that one does not learn something new. Without the old Cerb there are a lot of things that I would never have appreciated or known.

Sipping a beer after a great outdoor day that will leave me with sore muscles from raking. We are SO far ahead of last year at least here in PEI. Last June 15th I raked under my hedge and came out with snow and ice so I'm loving this. Go Jays. Hockey????? Not this year sad to say.

We are now only six months into the Liberal majority government mandate and I am beginning to wonder. P.M. Trudeau has indeed already met some of his election promises (which is great) and there are indications that other promises are working their way through the system. I am very nervous and scared that they will ratify the TPP and that will be yet another global screwing of Canadians in order to support big business and the multinationals. On a level more pertinent to members here, I have yet to hear any indication that the Protection of Communities and Exploited Persons Act (Bill C-36) will be repealed, amended or even sent to the Supreme Court for interpretation of its legality. Perhaps this is in the works and understandably its probably not something that they want to publicly acknowledge, so I still have at least some minor hopes for action. I have for my entire adult life communicated with my local Member of Parliament or the various Prime Ministers and I always received a reply, if even only a form letter, until the Harper government took office. Since then nothing. I even occasionally had a phone call about whatever I wrote about from my M.P. Following the election I wrote under my own name to the Prime Minister Mr. Trudeau, the Justice Minister and Attorney General Jody Wilson-Raybould and to my local M.P. about the legislation based on Bill C-36. I received not even an acknowledgement so perhaps our present government is in reality little different from the past one. To my knowledge which is based solely on following web sites of the organizations that speak for sex workers, there is no lobbying going on to keep the subject in the mind of government at a Canadian level. I follow as best as I can P.O.W.E.R, Maggies, Stella and P.I.V.O.T., all of whom made presentations at the hearings on Bill C-36. My position prior to the legislation was that it will be responsible for the deaths of women. I still believe that to be true, primarily for street workers. I cannot help but wonder if well established sex workers who do actually screen for their personal safety are not on their very individual level very happy with the legislation as it now exists. I certainly do not see SP's here being at all vocal about the legislation other than to use its existence as a way of telling clients who they can actually trust. As for Mr. Trudeau and Jody Wilson-Raybould I shall be a bit more patient and see if their, "Sunny Days", indeed is real.

Time has gone by since Trumps announcement and our first conversations here about Donald Trump. It does appear now as if he may indeed gain the Republican nomination and that is beginning to scare me. He is still gaining his success with his bombast and insults and with very little specific policy behind him. He is looking at an isolationist A,erica and for that I don't nlame him - the rest of the world will be sorry shpould that happen. If Hillary is the Democratic nominee which is pretty well now determined, her unfavorability along with the tide of, "I hate politicians," that is prevalent, may give us a neighbor with a President Trump at the helm.

Missing in Action People who have been members here for a while know who it is that I am talking about. I myself plead guilty as I have posted very little in the past six months or more. CERB or now LYLA was a place that I used to log into every morning with my coffee, and then again multiple times daily. Now I have become complacent and truthfully rather bored. I know now and always have known the basic premise of what this site was about but it used to be a place where one could engage in good discussions on all sorts of things, both inside and outside of the sex industry. I miss those discussions a lot. I will not even begin to name the people who have stopped contributing to discussions here, but men and women members alike who are intelligent, well spoken, humorous, and who contributed ever so much more to this site than what I see here now, I miss you.

For the fourth time since late last fall I am planning a road trip to Ontario. Every other time weather or unforeseen circumstances kept me home. Fourth time a charm I hope!

Sipping a Kilkenny, watching March Madness and hoping that the approaching storm (blizzard) will let me get on the road this time. It's the third time I have packed the car this winter to go and did not get there yet!

It's probably a pretty sad personal commentary on me, but I am totally addicted to the reality show playing itself out south of the border. This being the third,"Super Tuesday'" in a row, the tale may be told tonight. What I have absolutely no idea about is how it will go for Trump. Will the events of the past week with the violent rally in Chicago last Friday night cause him to lose badly or will it cause his support to increase even further. Based on what has transpired so far, one would think he will pull off both Florida and Chicago, but really who knows! On the Democratic side I am sensing a fear from Hillary's campaign. I am really enjoying Bernie Sanders and his idealism. Interesting that Trump has already called him a communist. Guess if one wants universal health care that makes us communists. A social conscience is not a bad thing. The best thing that I see about a Trump nomination is the guarantee that the Republicans will be on the side lines for another four years. Let's see what tonight brings.

I was diagnosed with diabetes before Christmas so am on a fast learning curve. I'm probably not going to be a very good patient. I have totally changed my diet although it was never particularly bad in the first place. I have never been a sweet eater so no chocolates at Christmas, no desserts, no cookies or chocolate bars so sweets are not an issue at all. Unfortunately, diabetes is not that simple. Being a typical Maritimer, meat and potatoes were my staple food, so limiting potato, rice and pasta - the main carbs has simply left me starving. To my frustration with my pretty careful diet my blood sugars have simply continued to rise. I am rather frustrated with the contradictory information online, and even with reputable sources such as the Canadian Dietetic Association. Their, "sample," diets just assume that every diabetic is overweight and therefore its low cal this and low cal that. Weight is not an issue for me. I have started on a minimal dose of metformin and again blood sugars continue to rise. We shall see what happens in the next few months. My sister is also diabetic and her doctor told her that blood sugar levels are only 30% regulated by diet. I am also VERY active, not in the sense of working out in a gym but in my daily activity and I am reasonably physically fit. Thanks for starting this thread and I shall follow it.

Ice made reference to the John Oliver segment above which is pretty entertaining, however, as I wrote on the other thread started last summer on Donald Trump, it might be funny but it ain't no joke. Several weeks ago I mentioned to someone my thoughts that as a very amateur historian with a great fascination for WW Two, the similarities between Trump and the rise of fascists in the 1930's is remarkable. Pushing national pride, rebuilding, sticking it to the oppressors and focusing on ethnic groups to focus hatred and bring people together are all in the Trump campaign. That being said, were I a steel worker in Pittsburgh or a car manufacturer employee in Detroit and am unemployed, I might be voting for the guy who says he will stick it to Japan and Mexico and China where my job went. In desperate times people grab at straws. It's pretty scary because the US IS the big elephant in the room and ehat they do has a huge impact on Canadians. Equally or perhaps more scary is the second runner and potential wiiner, Ted Cruz. He is a religious zealot, intractable, a strict constitutionalist from the 1776 days, and a right wing evangelical fanatic. Women's rights will be set back a hundred years should he become the nominee. If Hillary wins the Democratic nomination she might be in trouble vs Trump because nobody exemplifies the, "Establishment," more than she does. Tonight's votes may tell the tale and I wish for Canada's sake and that of the Americans, that Bernie Sanders is the next U. S. president.

My house painting is coming along really well. I'm even putting things back together again. I'm doing planning for an extended road trip that includes Halifax, NB and Ontario. Now to get weather to cooperate.

Well its now six months since this thread was started and the joke of Donald Trump continues to stay in first place on the Republican side and the Republican hierarchy seems almost resigned that he has a good shot at getting the nomination. Still a long ways to go though. That entire race is rather scary. Imagine President Donald Trump or maybe even worse, President Ted Cruz. I sure hope they don't send him back to Canada. The right wing evangelicals seem to have a lot of control and that scares the crap out of me. Hillary also seems to be being challenged by Bernie Sanders. His presence is yet another indication that people are just entirely fed up with the political system, as we are in Canada.

Settling in with a beer to watch the two NFL playoff games. Best football weekend of the year. :) Go Kansas City and Arizona.

I am painting painting painting in the house and its going well. So far so good. Being that it is winter I have been watching some TV that I recorded on my PVR in the fall. This next part I almost put in the Things That Suck thread but on reconsideration this is where it should go, That TV that I am watching includes commercials. and I see Stephen Harper's smug face spouting his hatred. The highlight is that I can fast forward right past that sucker. :)

Well I liked them both but pethaps prefer Gandolf. On the same theme, when looking at the books did you prefer Tolkien and the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings series or J.K. Rawling and the Harry Potter series?

If I am following the context of your post then my answer is, "YES," religion is holding us back. I am looking at it with a historical view, a world view, and a current view, and things do not seem to have changed much over time. One only need look at the Crusades with Christians vs Muslims. Northern Ireland, Protestant vs Catholic. In Canadian history we think of Britain vs France but in reality that was also a conflict based on religion with Protestant vs Catholic again. In the 21st Century it looks like now it's Muslims, or at least their skewed version of it, vs Christians. Global conflict is keeping us back, and much of it was and continues to be based on religion. Just imagine the society we could be without the massive funds set aside for the military and anti-terrorism things. The saddest part and most ironic is that the common denominator of all religions is peace. Thanks Steve for starting this thread. MN2

Installing software for a new wireless printer, looking at the 7 gallons of paint that I got today that will keep me busy for a while, and getting ready to cook some hamburgers for supper.

I'm not much of a TV watcher, but last year I watched the three seasons of Sherlock, a modern take on Sherlock Holmes with Sebastian Cumberbatch playing Sherlock. Each season consists of three 90 minute shows. I very milch enjoyed it.

For those who may not have heard a new airline is starting flights in mid-February. It's called New Leaf Air. It has minimal coverage of cities but I see Halifax and Hamilton on the list. I just tried a "sample" itinerary booking and can fly from Halifax to Hamilton for $170 return, all taxes in. Baggage fees are the same as the last time that I flew with Porter. That is pretty amazing. Now please let them start flying into Charlottetown.
