Is wordplay like oral foreplay?

After having had a rather difficult week, today seemed to be a turning point. I also bottled my latest batch of 25 and as I do the taste test this evening, "Not too bad," he says. :) Wait until this dry red ages a bit!!

I like MrNiceGuy27 because he has a pretty cool name. :) Also he is a fellow Maritimer.

Perhaps the oddest question ever
mrrnice2 replied to backrubman's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
BRM, I have been keeping an eye on this thread since its beginning and to this point did not feel that I had a whole lot to contribute that has not already been said. Even now I am not sure that I will add anything new to it but I do feel that I want to add my two cents worth. On first reading, my thought was pretty immediate that this is probably not a good idea. After reading post after post and your analysis of each one I believe that my opinion has not changed. We are living in a very different world from even thirty years ago. There are many single mothers who are successfully raising their children on their own without any involvement of a male father or father figure. Of course not all situations are like that as we well know but in this situation you have explained that in your opinion this woman is capable and will make a wonderful parent. I am still a traditionalist who believes that in the ideal world a family will have a loving mother and father, both present, and both involved with the child or children. It is however not a requirement as we well know and it seems as if she has set her course to be an independent single mother, with or without you. Therefore the issue is not her wishes, nor is it the welfare of the child, but rather your own wishes, desires, goals and needs. A version of immortality is how you put it and I suppose that scientifically, as a matter of pure biology and genetics that is true. Many people have achieved their version of immortality however not through their progeny but rather through their own deeds in the course of their life. To my way of thinking as much as one would like to believe that immortality is achieved through ones children I believe that what is more important are the everlasting memories and lessons that you leave with everyone that you interact with, as demonstrated by the way that you conduct yourself in this life experience. You of course will do as you will do and I hope that whatever that decision is that it turns out to be the correct one for everyone involved both in the short term and the long. -
What is your cold or flu remedy
mrrnice2 replied to CristyCurves's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
I am one of those firm believers in Vitamin C and its ability to prevent the cold. For it to be effective to me however there is a very specific time when one must ingest relatively large amounts. Prior to getting a cold if one feels the symptoms that tell you a cold may be on the way- perhaps an ache in the neck or bones, or whatever the precursor symptoms are for you, then immediately start the Vitamin C. I usually take 3 X 500 mg tablets multiple times throughout the day, whenever I think of it. The body cannot overdose on Vitamin C as it is water soluble and excess is eliminated. I REALLY believe that if I get it into me at the very very early stage then the cold will not develop. Once the cold is settled in however, the only thing is to settle in for the long haul, be a baby, and hope that someone will pamper and take good care of you and bring copious amounts of homemade chicken soup. :) The best medicine is prevention - wash hands, wash hands, wash hands! -
Getting shit on in a thread that I contributed to. Hmmmm. I have made a point of not writing anything that will stir the pot so it sort of took me by surprise. No more posts from me on that thread. :) Happy writing today!!!

Exclusivity and Jealousy?
mrrnice2 replied to JennDDD's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
My experience with this is I believe quite common. The first time that it happened it rather took me by surprise because I believed and still do that it is a business in which competition plays a role. However I continually have SP's who in general conversation tell me about other SP's who "I really should see," or who they believe that I would really enjoy meeting. They are recommending competitors to me because they support each other. Usually what goes around comes around. -
Having received both a telephone call and a very lovely PM from CERB friends relating to a rather sad anniversary that is approaching for me. When someone takes the time out of their day at just the right time to just say a few words to someone, it is a very special thing. :) CERB is good people and friends. :)

Gifts for those who have everything.
mrrnice2 replied to Meg O'Ryan's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
A really unique gift that one can give to the person is not not wanting of anything is a goat. No Meg, no joke. World Vision Canada allows one to purchase a gift that gives less fortunate people opportunities. At World Vision one can purchase a cow or a chicken, or hens and roosters or fruit trees and seeds and garden implements that go to third world countries. If you purchase a gift then a gift card is sent to that person in your name and the gift is also a charitable tax deduction. I will also point out that only 5 % of financial donations to World Vision goes to administration fees. Last Christmas I both gave and received a goat, and I think its a pretty neat idea! Have a look through their catalogue at the link that follows. https://catalogue.worldvision.ca/Gifts/Forms/Category.aspx?name=animals Good heavens! Merry Christmas. :) -
What an intriguing question and I believe that ultimately the answer goes to societal norms and societal expectations. Perhaps it is however a true difference between men and women. I truly believe that any woman can seek out and find a sexual encounter without a donation or fee, and still be selective and safe as she does so. At one level, and me not being a regular at bars, it seems clear to me that many a single guy is there for the sole purpose of seeking a sexual encounter. I do not believe that is true of women that might be at that same bar. A woman I am certain could use any of the online dating sites and find a "friend with benefits'" quite easily, whereas I do not think it would be quite so easy for a male to do the same thing. Perhaps for a male to be a successful SP it would require having another select and valid skill to include as a part of the experience. I have noticed of late that Il Re (http://www.cerb.ca/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=105911) has been active as an MA and received reccos. As I understand it, he is a trained RMT but currently not practicing and therefore is not impinging on the code of ethics of the profession. I say more power to him (with a slight feeling of jealousy). :) The question remains for me however. Is it the XX vs the XY chromosome that makes the difference or is it the influence of society? Women are from Venus and Men are From Mars is still pretty accurate.

Kitchen fire safety
mrrnice2 replied to TGirl-Kay's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Thanks for sharing that Kay. I knew about not throwing water on a grease fire but did not really know how one was supposed to put one out. I hope that none of us ever has to use this knowledge but it is a good thing to know. -
Well the NHL made it official today and have cancelled the first two weeks of the season. I'd like to say that I shall miss it but in reality, nope. On the good side I just realized this. Besides myself I only really know the favorite teams of two CERB members, so for them I looked this up. Meg, on October 11th Boston was supposed to play Philly. Well Lee Richards is a Philly fan, so you both probably have an evening free from following your teams. That creates opportunity. :) OK Lee, there is just a small finders fee due to me. :)

Wow! All of your preamble is very complimentary however I am not sure of, and I shall be curious to see how many will respond to this with a single name. For myself there is no possible way that I could answer that question because I have been so incredibly fortunate with the women that I have met. If I could answer it I would not. Women come in all shapes and sizes and temperaments and with various beliefs, attitudes. idiosyncrasies, ways of doing things, and their own likes and dislikes. The women that I have seen have been amazing but all of them are unique individuals who differ from each other in ways that make each of them a very special person to me.

I am thankful for..... HAPPY THANKSGIVING
mrrnice2 replied to aubreyxxx's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Thanksgiving Day and weekend were always family weekends and a time when I did stop and take a moment to reflect on the many things that I had to be thankful for. Two years ago it was on Thanksgiving Day weekend that my wife passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. Last year and as we approach that anniversary and holiday weekend again now it means obviously that the day has even more significance to me. It was last year that Thanksgiving Day became truly a day of thanksgiving, a day when I realized how very thankful I was to have been able to spend so many wonderful years with a wonderful woman, friend and partner. That giving of thanks and recognizing what she did for me has been my best healing mechanism. We all should stop and take a moment to recognize all those people who we have in our lives to be thankful for. Happy Thanksgiving and thank you CERB members for all that you have done for me. :) -
When I was a kid, when I was 30, and even when I was 40 I thought that being 60 was truly ancient. Well, the 60th birthday has just passed and I am thinking about it. Now that I am 60 I can say that I don't feel one bit different from when I was 40 or for that matter from when I was 30 however I cannot say that I feel like a kid again! My new relationships with people in all of the various contexts that one can imagine both in and out of CERB are not influenced at all, at least by me, by my age. As years pass as they inevitably do, at what point does age in fact become more than just a number or does it even happen?

It is a beautiful fall day here and I am just off to start the cleaning out of perennial flower beds and to plant the 500 new tulip bulbs that I will be putting in. A perfect way to spend a day!

My wishes constantly change but right now I wish I could serve Meg breakfast in bed. :)

I am quite certain that the thread was designed with the intent of having people identify destinations that one could by whatever definition call exotic. Greece, Venice, Angkor Wat, and many others would certainly be amazing, as would Egypt, the rainforests, and the loneliness found in the Artic. Not making fun at all here, but sometimes the phrase of "The grass is greener on the other side," may apply. I realize that many CERB members are from Ottawa, but as a person who only rarely gets to vist there, it is one of my favorite destinations. I have been there for the tulip festival, seen pomp on Parliament Hill, just wandered around downtown people watching and got a crick in my neck from looking up at tall buildings. There are plenty of places that cause one to yearn for a visit, but you have a pretty amazing, beautiful and fun city right there.

Congratulations RG. Holy frig! 7000 !!!!! :) -
Well after the fiasco on Monday night the NFL and the referees sat down and stayed talking until they got a deal. A sense of urgency had something to do with that no doubt. As great a football fan as I am it was rather sad to see the number of blown calls and what's worse to see that the referees in some cases were not even knowledgeable of the rules. It was a black eye for the league owners. Good solid football under firm guidance begins tonight. I believe that the refs earned a great deal of respect for what they do after these three weeks of replacements working to the best of their abilities. I hope that the referees get a standing ovation at the start of every game this week.

How to get rid of hiccups
mrrnice2 replied to Jabba's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Oh God. Hiccups! I don't get them often but usually the holding your breath or a drink of water with your ears covered seems to help. The reason I say Oh God is a story that I never ever want to repeat. Many years ago I was in hospital for hernia surgery. It was so many years ago that at that time it was not a send you home the same day thing but I was in for 3 or 4 days. Anyway, they decided that I had a reaction to the anesthetic, a very rare reaction. I got the hiccups, but not just any hiccups. These were like the real deal! Deep down full body right from the abdominal area every single one wanting to rip open the stitches kind of hiccups. And there was not one thing that worked. Thirty second intervals with fourteen hours of pain. I would not have wished it on my worst enemy!!! So Jabba, wish I had known you and your surefire cure! :) Never again please! -
Thinking of changeing my name.
mrrnice2 replied to TGirl-Kay's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
TGirl-Kay works very well! I especially like that you have the fortitude to make a decision quickly, unlike myself who has become such a procrastinator in decision making! Good choice. :)
