  1. Illusions shattered, realities intrude Gabriella and RG. Playful tigress, playful fisher Two souls. It never was nor will it be Until BBM can set them free.
  2. Three weeks from today we shall be recalling the first Halifax social with fondness. :) If you think you'd like to attend, drop me a PM if you have not done so already.
  3. We may have more in common than we thought Meg. Like you I have for the most part been able to remove myself from the stresses caused by things that are beyond my control. I also probably never did get overly stressed by the "little" things, but that has happened and continues to on occassion. Living in a home with my wife and three daughters who in the natural order of things grew up to be women, I learned patience over a long period of time. Not being on time used to be a pet peeve but I learned from them that hurrying does nothing but prolong and that stress disappeared. Waiting for the girls to be out of the bathroom was a major stress for what really was a very little thing. Well, putting in the second bathroom relieved that little stress, especially when I insured that it was not as 'nice' as the main bathroom. It's a functional bathroom and not a girly bathroom. Stress - presto, disappeared. :) Drivers who poke along can be an irritant, but in the whole scheme of things, how much difference does it make to be five minutes later than planned for. What's left for my little stress causer? How about unpacking the groceries and discovering that word "light" (read that as tasteless) in small print on a jar of mayo or salad dressing. Actually I have probably a number of stressers, but as I get older I continue to ask myself the question, "Does it really make much difference." Meg, you are just too darned young! :) Enjoy it.
  4. The lady that I would like to put forward as today's Goddess of the Day is the incomparable Samantha Evans. Samantha is the epitome of the women that we would all enjoy the opportunity to meet and wish to spend time with. Her smile is infectious, her conversation stimulating, and her writing, well, her words speak for themselves to all of us. http://www.cerb.ca/vbulletin/member.php?u=22427 I consider myself so fortunate to have been able to spend just one evening with this wonderful lady in Vancouver and to have had an opportunity to delve into just a few of the many aspects of Samantha that make her so intriguing. A very special woman she is who has earned our admiration and respect. When she does arrange to attend a social in Ottawa or (hint hint) a social in Halifax, it would be my pleasure and privelege to see her again.
  5. Ah man Lee. This time you have just set the bar TOO high. May I send you off some doughnuts? Take it from your aged cohort, women kinda like the cuddly look. :)
  6. Going to the Dr should not be a highlight, or having to go see the Dr should not be a highlight, but I was forced into it. The result - it was not too much of anything and I got some drugs. Wow, the first little dose has already made me feel a LOT better. LOL Oh dear, I could be a drug addict WAY too easy. Wow, everything is very happy. :) Pain, what pain???
  7. Congratulations Georgiana on reaching Goddess status. Without having met you I hope that this little quote is appropriate.
  8. I like Arejayell because I have met him now at several of the Ottawa socials and at the first where I did not know a single solitary soul he came and welcomed me, introduced me to a few others and helped to put me at ease. Thanks for that and I recall that well.
  9. Thrice to the right WIT, but the poll will only allow me one answer for one situation.
  10. Yes please let's use the bed. We were almost back in that damned haystack were we not?
  11. Three weeks from tomorrow in Halifax! I have received a number more inquiries in the last 24 hours so I am very confident that this will be a nice evening with at least a small gathering of people and it is going to very nice to be able to put a face and personality to the people whose names we see on line so often. There have been a few door prizes donated as well so there will be a draw that evening. I will have a bottle of wine from a PEI vinyard to contribute. If you would like to attend then please do PM me hopefully sooner rather than later as that will assist me in making final arrangements. If I could select two words to describe what I hope for they would be classy and comfortable. Now I just have to get out rid of my wheelchair and crutches which I had to go to today so that I might be able to ask a beautiful lady to dance.
  12. Ah but can he leap with the grace of Baryshnikov?
  13. Rumours of the upcoming summer season abound. I have been told that Old Dog and Lee Richards are now sporting six packs.
  14. Headaches- Bitter memories from the past, so I do feel for you. I used to suffer from migraines, probably not the classic ones with the flashing lights all of that but that would last five days and the only relief was a totally dark room and a cool cloth on the forehead. As I got older they did decrease in number and in severity. Triggers for the headaches are critical, and for me there were two primarily. First and absolutely MOST important was that if I slept in then it would guarantee onset of a headache. Secondly was not eating for extended periods of time. Finally once I retired I have not had one since. So April, you don't want to wish time by and get old, and you don't want to retire I hope, so consider sleep habits and regular food intake, should those lifestyle things be possibile issues for you. I have also read though never tried it, that there are acupressure points that you can use to alleviate symptoms of headaches very successfully. Good luck.
  15. As much as I am growing to adjust to living alone, and as much as I am growing to appreciate the freedom given to me by living alone, sometimes it is just lonely.
  16. Jade. one of the great things about CERB is that it is such a supportive place for those times when one simply needs a place to vent, so good on you to use it for that and to bring back to us again the issue of stereotyping and ignorance that is so prevalent "out there." I have read your words multiple times and feel that there are two issues that you are addressing. The first is the widespread stereotype that is so common to those who have no knowlege of the lifestyle. That stereotype is promulgated by the media, by the film industry, by sensationalist journalism, and is very much ingrained. Sadly, a year and a half ago I would have been one that suffered under those erroneous beliefs. I have addressed previously on CERB, as have many others, how these stereotypes have been absolutely shattered and set aside. The more important thing that you have addressed is the judgemental attitude of your friend and seeing that apparently she is unwilling to set her opinions aside to listen to or even consider other views and perspectives. THAT is a very difficult position to be in. Others have commented here previously that there are times when dealing with certain individuals that specific topics are to be avoided at all costs, as the attitude that you face is one that is fixed and closed and a conversation on that topic has no positive upside for you. There is also a belief that I have, that a friend is a friend is a friend. In conclusion all I can say from a personal perspective is that my experience with women involved in this business, be they full time or part time, is that I am continually struck by their strength, their personal conviction, their comfort with self - sexually and otherwise. For you to have that is something that no one can take away from you and is such an amazing gift that many many people, men and women alike, would dearly wish to attain. Keep your convictions, be true to yourself, educate others as the opportunity presents itself and recognize that there are some who choose to be a closed book. Vent away. :)
  17. A very Happy Birthday to my honorary Islander friend, Angela of the Island.
  18. Rumour has it that the boys have upped the transportation at the Lodge for this summer. For those who wish to opt for the comfort of air travel, one only has to book well ahead because of demand. Or they also offer economy class. For those who prefer ground transportation and for whom only the best will do, they have added a luxury limosine service for the discriminating traveller. Or, they offer the deluxe limo at a small additional cost. Unlike Air Canada or Westjet, all of the above modes of transportation come with complimentary hotdogs. I wonder what else the boys have in store for the summer season?
  19. We all recall that famous line from Jaws, right? Well, those of us old enough do. "I think we need a bigger boat." The 2012 version may be, " I think we need a bigger room." Having some very good response to the Meet and Greet from men and women alike. People coming from all over! Now, if we can get Lee Richards to finally schedule his trip East then we will have it complete. No wait, I'll trade a Lee Richards for a Gabriella, or Emily, or Penelope, or VJ, or, or, or....... Don't forget to PM me about attendance to get on the mailing list. Three weeks till we meet new and old friends.
  20. Hello all. I am bringing the upcoming Meet and Greet in Halifax back to your attention. I have had more inquiries in the last couple of days and that is great to see. The location will be sent a day or two prior to the event to those who have confirmed with me by PM. It will be in downtown Halifax at a public location where we will be able to grab a bite to eat or have a drink. Hopefully the gents will help out the ladies with this. We will not have a private room but I shall be reserving a number of tables together in one section, and therefore it is rather important that I get a pretty good idea of numbers very soon. If you wish to attend, would you please PM me personally. I have seen interest on the thread but need to have that personal contact in order to include you in our numbers. If you have sent me a PM and I did not reply, then would you please do so again. I believe that I am up to date on all of my replies but would not want to have missed someone by mistake. Please note again the information below. I want this to be a fun, classy, social gathering and for it to be for all of us a chance to put a face and personality to the names that we see posted here on the ads and threads. I do not want to put any restrictions on this other than the obvious. Although this is not in any way a Cerb sponsored get together, please keep the following points in mind. * I would like to restrict it to Cerb members who are in good standing on the board. *We all know the underlying purpose of Cerb, however, as this will be in a public location I ask that there be no solicitation in any way by anyone, male or female. I would like us to be seen by the innocent bystander as simply a group of friends getting together for a few hours at a nice place at the end of the workweek. * No dress code stipulated other than that which suits the surroundings and suits the way that we wish to appear as a group of friends or co-workers. So, if you might be able to join us, be sure to send me a PM. Thanks to Katherine for her help "on the ground" in Halifax. This would have been impossible for me to do alone from my home in PEI. Looking forward to meeting old friends and making new ones on the 22nd. MN2
  21. Congratulations Katherine on this milestone achievement.
  22. Congrats RG. Just to relieve your mind, I have already slept with an author. You will not be the second. :) Keep up the thoughtful posts and the good humour!
  23. This will remain a mystery to most of you but I have been recently presented with an opportunity to do something that I never in a million years would have thought might be possible to do. After careful thought I have chosen to follow through with this opportunity. I am somewhat apprehensive, but when a once in a lifetime opportunity is placed in front of me I would never ever want to decline and then forever wish that I had ventured into unknown waters. Life is too short to have regrets later on. Whoo Hoooo..... Sorry to be so enigmatic but this is my secret for now. :)
  24. Congratulations and well done Sophia - a multitalented lady.
