  1. We have to put up with TWO weeks of hype before they get to play the game, but looking ahead wouldn't it be great if the game is as entertaining as the two that were played this past weekend! Both teams are in a way fortunate to have advanced. The Patriots will remember history and their last loss to the the Giants in a Super Bowl is still fresh in their minds, so they will have added incentive to play well. Tom Brady, despite his record and statistics is beatable and the New England defense is still a question mark in my mind. The Giants and Eli Manning seem to have the football Gods with them and are peaking at the exactly right time. Is there a repeat of destiny in the works? I would expect that New England will be going into the game as heavy favorites, but with my tendency to pick the underdog, I am going with the New York Giants.
  2. Congratulations RG on another accomplishment! Keep it up my friend.
  3. Congratulations Meg and Old Dog on your ascension to Mount Olympus. Your accomplishment comes with great respect for your contributions. Well done and keep it up.
  4. And sometimes you just spend a day doing long put off things and see other things happening that just make you feel good.
  5. Congratulations Steve, my ever optimistic friend. Well done!
  6. Happy Birthday Meg! Wishing you all the best on this day and for the next year. Have a fun day. :)
  7. All great advice above! It is a wonderful community of providers and clients, a community for sharing knowledge and experiences, a community of people that suppport each other, and a community that is just a lot of fun to be a part of. RG's comment here is so true. I have received so much from CERB and probably a lot more than I have put into it! Enjoy, be respectful and use common sense, and you will find yourself immersed in a whole new positive lifestyle.
  8. Thanks RG. I love the gutter garden idea....salad stuff would be perfect in there!
  9. Okay, this already has me freaked out! LOL But I KNOW I am going to keep looking in too! Just call me mrrwimp.
  10. My Blackberry has decided to send texts that I write only when it feels like it, and then accept the replies in batches, up to 3 or 4 hours after they were sent to me. Grrrr. I hate my Blackberry. I am ready for an iPhone!!!!!!
  11. Being born a Caper, having multiple family connections in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick and now considering myself to truly be a Prince Edward Islander, I am proud to call myself a Maritimer. The recommendations made here are all excellent, and none would be open for dispute. Cape Breton is a unique part of the Maritimes, and as Emma mentioned the Cabot Trail deserves two days in order to do it justice. This allows you to stop at the lookouts, to walk a few trails, perhaps play a round at Highland Links near Keltic Lodge, and to truly appreciate your surroundings. If you are a camper, pitching your tent on the edge of the cliffs at Meat Cove serves as the perfect half way point on your trip and is an experience. Sailing out of Brier Island on a tour is pretty well a guarantee of sighting whales. Mahone Bay is gorgeous, and just a short hop away is Oak Island. If you go there during Oak Island Week you have an opportunity to get a tour of the Island. The Historic Properties on the waterfront in Halifax are beautiful to meander through on a warm summer day. Tidal bore rafting in NS on the Shubenacadie River is something available nowhere else in the world. Awesome. In New Brunswick just south of Saint John is beautiful St Andrews by the Sea and just past that a short ferry trip to Grand Manan Island will get you to a neat place where dulse and sardines are Maritime treats. Fundy National Park is a great spot as is "The Rocks" nearby, where you can easily see the results and power of the worlds highest tides. My own PEI. Marketing has pretty well brought Cavendish Beach, the National Park area, Anne of Green Gables and world class golf courses to the forefront. When one goes away from the publicized areas there are the equally incredible beaches but without people on them. An all you can eat Lobster Dinner is a unique Island experience. Take in a Ceilgh while on the Island. Actually all of the Maritime provinces have a strong music tradition and the talent is amazing for local community performers. North Lake PEI is considered to be the tuna capital of the world, so when Jabba wondered about deep sea fishing, this may be the place. One can charter a days fishing at reasonable cost. During the season there is a decent chance of hooking a fish. If you can land one, it belongs to the captain, but what an experience that must be. Hey Jabba, bet you could talk Roaming Guy into that trip! Regardless of where you go here, the Maritimes are a great relaxing travel destination. If any Cerb members end up on the Island, I'd love to share a cold Maritime beer with ya!
  12. I realize that I may be in a more confused state about "life," than I have ever been previously and that the confusion is a life stimulant.
  13. Sunny day, light flurry last night to make it white. A nice winters day here. Out for a coffee this morning with a friend that I have not seen for a bit. Home now, the wood fire is on, reading The Girl With A Dragon Tattoo, basketball and hockey on later. It's all good.
  14. There are duo combinations in Halifax for sure. I know that Katherine and Penelope are available and both are in NS pretty well full time. When Emma Alexandra and Gabriella are in town together they are a great duo combination and as well when Emily Rushton and Keissy Hennessey are in town they also work together. Check the recco sections under any of their names and you will find further information. Good luck.
  15. Congratulations Phaedrus, my philosopher friend!
  16. In my opinion, posted donation rates are inviolate. Ultimately an encounter is a transaction for your time and personal service. I am continually impressed by the professionalism of the women working in this industry, the care and empathy that they show, their genuine desire to give quality experiences in return for a decent income. To maintain respect for yourself and to maintain your professional integrity, and to support this industry then your donation requirements should not be negotiable. If approached to do so, my opinion would be that you should politely but firmly indicate that you are a professional running a legitimate business with its own costs and expenses, and that the rates are as they are to reflect the quality of service that you provide. Perhaps those potential clients should be politely referred elsewhere.
  17. Sometimes optimism comes when it is least expected. That optimism is here and is my highlight of the day.
  18. This makes so very sad, thinking of a young athlete about her dreams for herself and her desire to compete as an ambassador for Canada. Feeling for her friends and family.
  19. She wrote online yesterday that she has very limited online time right now so she is using her text # as shown in her ads I believe.
  20. Now this is a thread that brings back memories. I grew up in Montreal and in 1986 I was so fortunate as a 14 year old to have a full 6 month passport to Expo 67. I spent evenings, weekends, and probably close to two full months of summer on the site. The brand new Montreal Metro was a highlight in itself in just being able to use it to get to I'sle Ste. Helene. I recall people, hordes of people, and recall all of the multitude of languages that I heard and the national dress that I observed from pavilion to pavilion. I recall the geodesic dome of the USA and the unique structure of France that is now I believe the Montréal casino. The theatre in the round that Jabba speaks about with a screen that surrounded you. Flying over Niagara Falls in one moment, racing in a police car down Ste Catherine Street the next and then ending up by being in the middle of the RCMP Musical Ride at the end. It was perhaps this film the brought me to my Canadian identity and instilled my pride in being Canadian. I recall tree lined walkways, the maze of paths that eventually I became master of, and acting as tour guide to the continual stream of company that spent time with us in that time period. And probably appropriate for this site, I recall discovering girls that year. What a place to make that discovery! Thanks Jabba for bringing this back to me. :)
  21. Congratulations Lee! May this recognition warm you up from your -30 and more temperatures way out west! Well done and I always enjoy your posts!
  22. Who could have thunk it? I had no idea where this thread would go, but it has become very interesting! As a guy who for many many many years was in a monogamous relationship the idea of proper use of a condom and certainly the proper disposal of condoms was probably the furthest thing from my mind. Truthfully I have never even given it a second thought about where that went after it had served its purpose, so it is indeed a dull day when one does not learn something new! I do like it when the SP takes care of that little item of business and I give it no attention afterwards, and do not intend to. A closed lid on a garbage can works for me. Plumbing problems are always best when can be avoided and latex or the other materials that condoms are made from are surely not biodegradable? Perhaps it is a good thing that I am not an avid television watcher so that some of these other ulterior possibilities had never crossed my mind. I did enjoy the thread for its educational value and the humour mixed in was awesome. :) Oh the things my little mind never thinks about! Now, I read about the spray on condoms here the other day. How in the heck do they come off and where do they go? Questions. Questions.
