CERB's Got Talent!
mrrnice2 replied to Alexandra-Sky's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
I used to play the acoustic guitar - well enough to amuse myself. I have not touched it in over 10 years and this past summer I decided to start again but my two good guitars suffered from bad storage conditions and are warped. I shall get a guitar in the near future and resume the hobby for my own entertainment. -
The highlight at the moment is being almost ready to drive back to Ottawa to see the Canucks - Sens game. I have not seen an NHL game for over 30 years!!!!!

I like Shymale because at the social when I met hm he was very personable and I respect thye fact that he took himself into a difficult situation and met the challenge perfectly. I bet at the next social he will be the social butterfly. :)

Tried to put this onto your thread but had to spread some rep points around. SO - Remember the first rule of crime solving. Who has motive? See Isabellas post above yours. :) No, not Isabella!!!! But then perhaps there is a family in need that she knows of......?

The highlights continue. I have had a terrific three day drive with perfect weather conditions all the way to Ontario from the East coast. The social was really fun, and now I get to visit my daughter for the weekend. Oh, and she got 2 tickets for the Canucks at the Sens for Saturday night!!!

Hey the Old Dog seems to have that way of saying just the right thing at just the right time. And, he does a pretty good Santa under adverse heat conditions too! Yay for Old Dog!

Ottawa Christmas Social - Thursday, Dec. 8th
mrrnice2 replied to Andee's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
I would like to take a moment to pass on a huge thank you to Angela and Old Dog for all of the work that they put into making the social the success that it was. I throughly enjoyed myself last evening, and was really pleased to have met some new acquaintances and to have renewed acquaintance with others. The chance to meet people in person adds a whole new dimension to the Cerb community for me, and a unique community it is. It was particularly nice to see the maritime contingent in attendance along with western visitors. Some of us continue to chat about the possibility of a social to be hosted in the Maritimes in the summer. Great company last night and Angela and Old Dog, time to relax and soak up some of the Christmas feeling in what will now hopefully be a more relaxed manner. Merry Christmas to all. -
Best wishes for a Happy Birthday to you. With good luck I can get you a birthday hug in person at the social this evening.

Ottawa Christmas Social - Thursday, Dec. 8th
mrrnice2 replied to Andee's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Hey. It's December 8th. :) See you this evening Angela and Old Dog and so many others. A little flurry here in Quebec last night and it looks ever so much like Christmas. :) The tone is set. -
Well done Berlin. I always appreciate you perspectives. Thanks for youir contributions.

Not so much a quote - A traditional Irish bleassing, but it is meaningful to me and appropriate to use more often than one might think it would be. May the road rise to meet you May the wind be always at your back The sun shine warm upon your face The rains fall soft upon your fields And until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of his hand.

Wow. Ask and Ye Shall Receive! Thanks for the help. It looks as though mistert supplied the key and with some fine tuning from others and Google maps to supplement, the route is set. Ottawa , here I come. Thanks again. Now, Ms Alexandra. It seems to me that I DO owe you dinner don't I. Perhaps you might watch for a PM shortly. Timing is everything. :)

I see it. Thank you. I may have my alternate route! Much appreciated.

I am just getting ready to head off by car from points East to Ottawa. I shall be spending a night in Levis, and I would love to know if there is a fast, efficient way to drive from Quebec City to Ottawa and bypass going right through Montreal. If you have a magic route, please feel free to post here or PM me. I love Montreal, and know both Routes 20 and 40 to get through it, but there is ALWAYS construction. Help please. Thanks :)

Remember Sadie Hopkins day??
mrrnice2 replied to Rounding Third's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
This could be quite fun. :) Thinking thinking thinking - creating creating creating. :) -
This is a little bit cumulative but it starts with having had perhaps the best weekend and maybe even the best couple of weeks that I have had in well over a year. Spending time with my daughters baking Christmas cookies. Spending some visiting time with a couple of friends that I just don't see often enough. Finding that I am the recipient of two center ice tickets for the Canucks at the Sens next Saturday night, so my daughter and I will go and her poor husband unfortunately is odd man out. Seeing that the weather forecast for Wednesday and Thursday is looking pretty good for my drive to Ottawa for the social and then points west. Barring blizzard conditions I am going! It's all good. :)

A new chapter in my life
mrrnice2 replied to Carley Chase's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Carley I wish you all the best for the future and to know that you have an opportunity to seize the moment is a beautiful thing. It has been a pleasure to see your posts on Cerb that have shown your upbeat, fun and genuinely caring nature. I shall miss seeing that from you on a regular basis so I hope indeed that you will pop in on occassion, even if only to just say a hello. I feel very fortunate to know that I shall see you then at least for a moment at the social to solidify these thoughts with a few words and a hug. May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind always be at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, and rains fall soft upon your fields. Take Care and Good Luck my friend. -
Being out for a good part of the day in beautiful weather and when you get home and are manhandling the wheelchair up the steps the heavens just open and you get drenched straight through. Brrrr.

Where is your Christmas Spirit ?
mrrnice2 replied to PistolPete's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Good thoughts Pete and well said. But hey, it does not have to be related to Christmas, though that can be an incentive. It is perhaps more so let's think before we write, and then think twice before we hit that submit button. Common sense and common courtesy go a long way, all year long. Merry Christmas. :) -
I am not sure why I am saying this, but I will say False Castle. T or F : Our family has chosen to not have a gift exchange this year and plan a family getaway for in the late spring.

Just back from the first Christmas concert of the season. It was a great evening out.
