I have thought of this alot actually. Yes, IF 1. They take every precaution for personal safety 2. They want to do it. 3. They put significant money away for the future Not that it is for me to say yes or no to them Would you go see an SP knowing that she has a connection to your family?

I know that I would feel badly about it, but, I would not. Would you choose to meet with an SP that is almost your total opposite in every way?

It's nice to see calm heads prevail. As Julia said we are all equals with common interests and goals. Some laws that make this all so difficult ARE there and the fact that they are so damn stupid is something that we all should be aware of and striving to change in one little way at a time. Again, this community has its role and it is because of the openness and exchange of information and opinions of everyone. We just have to think sometimes before we push that submit button.

This question makes me think of a time when we played a game with a group of friends, I believe it was called Taboo, where you indicated your potential actions when presented with various moral and ethical situations. Two of the other players were psychologists, and I never felt so uncomfortable in my life, feeling as if I were being analysed! But, to answer you question - No I would not. I could not take a life, in any circumstance. Would you go into space on a mission that would last 5 years, with only a small crew on board?

Tattoos and my opinion of them has changed somewhat of late. Not that I ever was opposed to them, but my preference for women would have been for those small, dainty, intimate tattoos. I still love those. I have however met a couple of awesome ladies with multiple tattoos and have come to enjoy them as well as an art form or as something that they use to express themselves. When the tattoos have a personal or special meaning I find that aspect fascinating, and yes, I will ask about them specifically. Through personal experience I have also come to appreciate just how tough some of these ladies are, or conversely, how much of a wimp I am. Yes, I have a tattoo. It is small and I will never win a game of who has the most tattoos with most of the women here. So why do I have just one? Because, it hurt like hell and I shall be more than happy to keep it to a singleton.:) No tattoos? That's pretty hot too. :)

Probably not a very adventurous eater here. I do like hot spicy food, but I have this problem that even what most consider to be mild causes me to sweat - and I mean like soaked, so easy on the spices I am. My strong preference remains with "Canadian". Great seafood and beef is hard to beat.

When summer only starts in the middle of August - BUT, the plus side is that it came and it is summer now :)

The value of the threads here for me personally is huge. I know that I read a lot of the postings on a variety of topics, from the frivolous to to the serious. I will not say that I do not look at ads or recommendations, because I do, but what will take me to them are the forum contributions. As with many of the guys here who have expressed this on many occassions, to meet with an SP is a privelege, and for me a part of that privilege is her willingness to converse and let me see at least a part of the real person. For a supposedly well educated man, I have learned a lot of things about a lot of topics from the ladies (and gents) who contribute. I really do get the feel or sense that many of the ladies here are a part of a larger mutual support group and that many of the men are right there with them. Seeing what the women post demonstrates the personal characteristics that I value and seek and I would hate to be in a position of having to make a decision based on a shout box comment or an ad. To extend the discussion just a bit further to encompass the title of the thread, I have read and been a part of discussions that have educated me, made me laugh, made me cry, made me think, made me question some basic beliefs, made me aware of the silly stereotypes that I had/have, and the forums DO play an important role for me in many many ways. How else would I have have known that a guy like Old Dog can make such bad jokes and puns and then be the same person to write with such wisdom and compassion and clearly make his point of view understood. Are there TWO Old Dogs? Yes ladies, for at least this one member, the forum contributions that you make are important. I love reading them, and please don't go away from this aspect of CERB.

Another Good Idea Sky. I actually have a few.......not so much cute or funny, but certainly in the awesome category. Funny how word sort of spreads I guess, but I am going to be in Ottawa in the near future, and an aquaintance from CERB in the forums heard about it from someone else, and he has invited me to meet and chat over a beer. How cool is that!

Ah, sorry Old Dog, but no. But I know I have friends who would love to help. :) Would you join an attractive friend in bed in the dead of winter because of a power failure, purely for body heat of course.

I personally enjoy the fact that some of the women do have their own personal websites. One can find additional information that is not as readily accessible through CERB and a website also gives me an additional "sense" of professsionalism. Furthermore, the websites that are self designed rather than the ones that use pre-existing templates always seem to me to give more of a sense of the person. All of that being said, if Sophia and Cat are correct and a website is something that can be used against you, then I could easily find my sense of the 'person behind the woman' through CERB postings and forum contributions. The way that an SP presents herself, through whatever medium, is a factor for me.

THAT is a hard one, but, a qualified no. Would you play strip poker or truth or dare?

The reasons for my specific choices of SP's have changed with time. Initially it was purely a question of geography. Who was visiting my part of Canada or who was in a city when I went travelling. In another case it was a recommendation from one SP to me about another SP. After getting more involved with CERB, it has almost exclusively come down to their presence on the boards - what they write about and contribute to, how they express themselves, and to a degree, recommendations of other members. Their willingness to chat a bit via pm or email is important. Body type is a factor, but not a great factor, and the ability and willingness to help me explore fantasies has also been something that I have considered and benefitted from. :) I throughly enjoy a personal connection as best as one can determine it without actually meeting ahead of time. Whether it be consideration of these factors, or just pure luck, but I have not met a lady that I did not like or enjoy my time with.
