*sigh* I'm getting tired of the whole "protect women's virtues (their virginity) while celebrating men's sexuality" thing. Don't we women get to play too?? Of all my friends that have had sex before marriage (and that was probably 95%), absolutely none of them have become prostitutes (to my knowledge). Two became strippers, quite a few became pregnant, and some became lesbians. I am an SP because I love what I do! I would hate for anyone to tell me that I have been victimized, because I have complete and total agency of myself and do not wish that to change for any reason. Politicians should stop trying to enforce their own beliefs on the majority of females. -_-

This sounds like a fascinating study! I wouldn't mind participating, although I am wondering what this means: "Following participation, treatment referrals and self-help resources will be available to you". I love to talk about sex, and have no problem participating in a study about sex or sex working, but I'm a little concerned to possibly be categorized as "needing help" for what I love to do... Also, my other question is, how long does this study last? I am trying to move to Toronto but I have no idea when that will be possible (depends on finding a place to live, a job, etc).

That's funny, I am also travelling to that area July 4th weekend! I've always wanted to play with a couple ;-)

I would have to say my #1 wish for a professional service for providers would be security - as in I would be able to bring along a trusted bodyguard to keeps tabs on me in case an appointment went sour. I have been in a couple of situations with otherwise vouched-for hobbyists that were a little too uncomfortable for my taste, and I would have loved to have been able to hit that panic button to protect myself, especially given that I am rather petite and unfortunately have been raped in the past (not by a hobbyist). Of course these situations were before I became experienced at what I do, and of the mind to get pepper spray, but having a discreet bodyguard would put my mind at ease during a date. Of course, it might just be wishful thinking... My other need would to have someone take calls for me as I am hearing impaired, but then again I would hope emails, vouchers, and recommendations would suffice.

I had one client request that I not wear perfume or scented deodorant as he was allergic... But I believe it is perfectly possible to wear (non scented) deodorant or anti-perspirant without offending anyone's nose - it would be far better than having to put up with stinky, sweaty body odor (which only gets magnified in the intimate nether regions)!
