You know you're old when you used Brylcreem to get that Napoleon Solo hairstyle just right. Which was especially hard since I usually had a brush cut. -

You know you're old when this was your very first passport: I still have mine with 85 stamps and stickers from pavillions and exhibits. This child's version is missing the french above the logo and the Terre Des Hommes - Man and His World. The fair in '68 was even more fun as we could go without our parents. -

Well Hollywood gossip has been around since Hollywoodland and I guess it will be here for a while yet. We grew up with my Mum's movie and T.V. gossip mags, all the A, B, C and D list stars on game and talk shows and now all the ET and TMZ stuff. Sometmmes it's nice to know who was walking down the beach at Malibu today or arrived at LAX. Lately I just watch it when Law and Order is on commercial, but sometimes I forget to switch back. Where's Mary Hart these days? :-} -
My phone and text were working today but no e-mail or internet. So I actually got a lot accomplished today. I just tried a re-send and it still is coming back x. This has been 19 hours now. Not happy with any of my connections lately, including Bell.

A personal question for the gents

For me I have to stay in the moment of what is going on between us, the reality of a beautiful woman bringing me to a place I don't get to often enough. I generally book for 2 hours as that place I want to be includes time to get to know her, hold her, dance, laugh or just lay together. If I'm thinking this will lead to something else at that moment then I miss out on what is happening right then and there. Later, back at the ranch, I can dream about anything and take matters into my own hands. My worst habit is actually thinking about something comletely innocuous at exaclty the wrong moment, going "Why would I think of that now", and knowing I won't be getting it back any time soon. But I am still with her and it's no big deal as we lie together again. She's still beautiful and she is still holding me. -
Aah yes, Bruce Springsteen "The Boss". Which reminds me of the line from Summertime Blues. "The Boss Man says, 'You gotta work late.'" And who better than the Who to sing it, Live at Leeds. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ea0759BeJ2U And then Arcade reminds me of the carnival, so; Life is a Carnival by The Band

Help!

I did last years Christmas turkey using a brine and it was my best one ever and I'm not a real big turkey fan. I don't have a recipe off hand for you but there are good ones on the internet. The main thing is having a container to soak the turkey overnight in the brine. I used a cooler lined with the large plastic bag for easier clean up. You can also pack ice around it to keep it cool. The brine breaks down the meat leaving you with a very moist and tender turkey, especially the white. Just make sure to rinse it well after the brine. It was actually very simple to do and it cooks well in the oven. Enjoy your meal either way you go about preparing it. -

We're hosting, as everyone else in my family has downsized to condos or apartments. A mix of family and friends from ages 10 to 56. Looks like enough for a game of road football too. A big ham with a side of ribs is on the menu, with all your favourite root vegetables, asparagus and seet potato pie. Looks like a warm weekend in Ottawa to enjoy in one way or another. I hope everyone has a safe and fun time.
