Song: Space Oddity (1969) Artist: David Bowie Lyrics:"Check ignition and may God's love be with you" "Planet Earth is blue and there's nothing I can do." Context: Inspired by the 1968 science-fiction film "2001: A Space Odyssey". Thinking of David Bowie given news of his death yesterday. -

Hash browns (nice having potatoes for breakfast either way.) Dog breeds: big or small?

Large McCafe coffee (have a bean grinder and coffee makers so beans would have been an option if I hadn't been driving.)

Am wimping out and choosing both; observing that Ottawa is blessed with many fine facilities and talented adult entertainers. January precipitation: Rain or Snow?

Working Girl ( 1988 ) - Great to see Harrison Ford performing in this romantic comedy with Sigourney Weaver and Melanie Griffith. Closing theme by Carly Simon and cinematic shot are both unforgettable. https://www.bing.com/th?id=A74ba05d4c8315319ac26e3172a2d8cb9&w=113&h=170&c=7&rs=1&qlt=80&pcl=f9f9f9&cdv=1&pid=16.1

Spies like Us (1985) - Two comic geniuses, Chevy Chase and Dan Akroyd, play opposite each other in this cold war farce. https://www.bing.com/th?id=A9d5e8b801ae9ac545017917191ad3985&w=113&h=170&c=7&rs=1&qlt=80&pcl=f9f9f9&cdv=1&pid=16.1

Last night I watched A Walk in the Woods. The premise was good and the scenery outstanding. The interaction between Robert Redford and Nick Nolte was age appropriate. The plot advances at a walking pace which may be too slow for some viewers; however it suits the story.

The Queen (2006) - Worth watching for Michael Sheen's portrayal of Tony Blair. Helen Mirren as the Queen and James Cromwell as Prince Phillip round out the cast. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/d/d6/The_Queen_movie.jpg

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (1989) - Watched this holiday film again recently. Always feel badly for Chevy Chase when the lights don't turn on. Should feel worse when the cat chews on the cord.... https://www.bing.com/th?id=A06932bff9f6e358d6b72f02a5017e078&w=113&h=170&c=7&rs=1&qlt=80&pcl=f9f9f9&cdv=1&pid=16.1
