  1. I work in an environment that tends to be a bit of a breeding ground for viruses and the exchange of germs. So I do get the flu shot every year. The years I haven't, I tend to get the flu more often than the times I don't. Absolutely it's a crap shoot since the vaccine doesn't protect against all strains of flu. But rolling the dice doesn't seem particularly harmful, and may actually help. I did get the H1N1 vaccine the year of the big pandemic scare. And yes, I actually did get H1N1 that year. I was told when I got it that there would be a window where I wouldn't be fully protected, and yes, I got sick. I see that as dumb luck, not the result of the flu virus. At the end of the day, everyone needs to make the best choices for them. In general, healthy people have less to worry about in terms of the likelihood of getting sick, unless they are in environments where they are routinely exposed to particular diseases. Porthos
  2. For me personally, I don't find these threads souring. I do find them fascinating, and very helpful reminders of what ladies sometimes have to put up with. It's also useful to rethink one's own practices. I have, for example, sat in my car outside of a lady's in-call location. Now it was a high-rise building, and I wasn't sneaking around to peek in anyone's windows. But nevertheless, it's helpful to sometimes hear the perspective from the other side, and then take that into account in terms of one's own behaviour and practices. I tend to be habitually early, or at least try to be. And then I wait. I find it too stressful to try to time arrival perfectly with the appointment time. But, I never ring the doorbell, buzz, text, or buzz until it is the agreed upon time. Porthos
  3. Sending a big hug to everyone who has been so supportive and said such nice things to me recently. Your support and kind wishes mean a lot to me. Porthos
  4. So true. It's amazing how common sense seems to be in such short supply in the world.
  5. All the best. You'll certainly be missed. Porthos
  6. despite being a bit nippy out I fired up the bbq and we had ribs! worth the frost-bite. porthos
  7. ceramic tile Ocean view or mountain view
  8. I routinely unfriend people. A periodic cull of the "friend" list is required from time to time. Most of the time these are people I rarely see, so there is little drama involved. Unfriending a family member would be a bit tougher. Didn't know about the "restricted" friend option. But that sounds like a good alternative. Porthos
  9. After several weeks of very bad visits with my Mother, today we had an absolutely wonderful visit. She was lucid, knew who I was, and was able to carry on a conversation ... until she got tired and fell asleep. But still, I left the nursing home on top of the world, rather than feeling totally depressed. I know she'll have good days and bad days. But there've been a lot of bad days lately. So hitting on a good day was simply wonderful. Porthos
  10. At the end of the day it's up to the lady to figure out how best to organize her business. I really don't think you can assume anything at all from where, or how often a lady advertises. Assumptions are likely mistaken. If a lady interests you, see her. If not, don't. There can be a range of factors that determine whether you, as a client, are interested. That might include how her ads are written, what her pictures are like, etc., etc. Much of that is purely subjective. The only thing that matters is that during and after the session, everyone is pleased and that there was a mutually beneficial exchange of time and money. Porthos

  12. I think this is a highlight. today is day 2 of being flu-free. last week was a complete right off (that part really sucked). Porthos
  13. Talking about other SPs, your girlfirend or SO ... would be totally tasteless and tacky. My goodness, if you want a GFE, then act like you're providing a BFE. After all, if you go on a date and talk about everything your ex did (or last night's date), you are likely not going on a second date, and you're definitely not getting lucky!
  14. I love kissing. Those were very nice passionate videos. Porthos
  15. black Toronto bagels or Montreal bagels
  16. The transformation of Ontario into Eastern Canada may have to do with all the transplanted Newfoundlanders here. I think most of Bell Island lives in Kitchener-Waterloo. Fort Mac may have to be renamed St. John's West! Porthos
  17. I'll add to the chorus of frustration. Of course, Central Canada properly is Manitoba ... since Winnipeg is virtually in the geographic center of the country. But it does irk me to hear Ontario and Quebec referred to as Eastern Canada. I think, however, it may be a politically correct reaction against that part of the country calling itself Central Canada, as in the center of it all. Still, the Maritimes and Atlantic Canada need to make a return to our geographic lexicon. Porthos
