  1. In a case like this the interests of the party hiring the appraiser will determine whether the appraised value is high or low. It isn't necessarily overt, but the lawyers know which appraisers are conservative in their appraisals and which are not. They'll retain as their client's interests dictate. As Backrubman said, the only Estimate of value that's really meaningful is what someone's actually prepared to pay on any given day. Porthos
  2. Happy birthday Touch. Hope you have a fabulous day!
  3. Seeing a stranger across the room at an art gallery. Maybe a sexy art student. Meeting her in gallery after gallery, never saying a word. But the energy is electric. Then, she is behind me. I can feel her presence, smell the scent of her perfume, hear her breathing. she takes my hand and leads me to the darkened corners of a gallery that is closed .... Well the rest stays in my imagination! Porthos
  4. And most "reality" tv is heavily scripted, not particularly real, and plays to voyeuristic tendencies to see people at their worst. Terrible stuff (Big Brother notwithstanding .... Cause I realize it has a big following here on CERB) Porthos
  5. That was awesome. Great tune as well. Thanks for posting it mn2
  6. Sitting on the deck, beer in hand, watching the birds at the feeders Reading Cooking ... I find cooking incredibly relaxing.
  7. Spike TV has that show about absurd ways people get themselves killed! And history tv is full of faux archeology. I occasionally miss sports, although I've never been one to regularly watch sporting events, so it's not a huge loss. An amazing moment came on our return trip from NL. After a year with no tv we come to the first hotel on the trip, and neither kid even bothered to turn it on. It was incredible!!
  8. So I went with an Internet package that allows 125 GB a month download (yet to come close to that so I might drop it a bit). ... It's still less than my old cable bill, and then I still had to pay for Internet on top. I remember the buzz when A&E first was launched .... Culture and arts programming. Now it's marathons of Storage Wars. Unreal. Everything you want to watch is available online. Porthos
  9. Got rid of it over a year ago. Would never have it again. Just bought a new HDTV which we use for watching shows downloaded by computer. Thinking about getting Apple TV or some equivalent to stream directly from the computer wirelessly, but to be honest the hdmi cable doesn't bother me. Really can't justify spending that much money on mindless reality TV. Since I got rid of cable I rediscovered reading. I ever had time to read a book, but over the past year I've read 20+ novels, and watched really "good tv" that was my choice. Even cooler, both my kids have said they don't want cable again. Porthos
  10. Most of my favs have been mentioned: breaking Bad, Boardwalk Empire, Game of Thrones. Sherlock is incredible and the Wire is a phenomenal show. On the Sci Fi side, Firefly, Farscape, Battlestar Galactica. But surely I'm not the only Doctor Who fan in Cerb. Can't wait for the new series to start this weekend. Porthos
  11. Adding my best wishes and a giant bear hug for Katherine. We love you darling!! Porthos
  12. An article with some advice about dealing with the issue: http://wafflesatnoon.com/2011/10/05/seeing-unwanted-text-enhance-ads/ And another useful link: http://botcrawl.com/how-to-remove-text-enhance/ Porthos
  13. Educate yourself, and then stick to well established ladies who are known for high standards of service and professionalism. It is important to always take precautions yourself, be informed of the risks, and only engage in activities for which you are comfortable with the risk level. In terms of ladies, touring or local, you may find ny number of bait and switch scammers, etc., etc. check Cowboy Kenny's diary and stick with local and touring ladies of quality. No shortage of delightful and wonderful ladies to choose from. Then, have fun.
  14. Thanks Backrubman and Amelia. I find the sane thing ... I usually run search and destroy followed by , each finds different things. My workplace uses Mcafee but I've found in the past that lots seems to get past it. I've been using AVG, but it seems to be a bit of a resource hog. I've been thinking of trying avasti. Porthos
  15. I love cheese Curds. Probably a favorite snack food. I can remember on long road trips my dad would stop at a cheese factory and get a bag of curd for the trip. Awesome!! A great taste and a great memory of childhood vacations. Today, i love Indian for take away. Porthos
  16. What are your recommendations for good malware/spyware protection. I usually run malwarebytes and spybot search and destroy. One program doesn't seem to be enough. Porthos
  17. A long day in the car fighting brutal traffic Porthos
  18. I've encountered this as well. Various malware, and also some browser ad ons, that link to specific words in websites you are looking at. Very annoying. Sometimes the ad ons are hidden in software updates. Porthos
  19. Always loved the Three Musketeers ... Porthos is jovial, carefree, a lover of wine, women, and song. Comic relief and larger than life! Porthos
  20. I'd agree with backrubman .... At least No judgement on my part. More just caution. I know a number of married women who I find extremely attractive and would love an opportunity for some no strings attached fun with. But the risks are too high ... And that's why I adore the lovely ladies of CERB. Porthos
