Most of my favs have been mentioned: breaking Bad, Boardwalk Empire, Game of Thrones. Sherlock is incredible and the Wire is a phenomenal show. On the Sci Fi side, Firefly, Farscape, Battlestar Galactica. But surely I'm not the only Doctor Who fan in Cerb. Can't wait for the new series to start this weekend. Porthos

maybe a newbie question on SP and client and a known risk
Athos replied to tayhan's topic in Ottawa Discussion - Escorts
Educate yourself, and then stick to well established ladies who are known for high standards of service and professionalism. It is important to always take precautions yourself, be informed of the risks, and only engage in activities for which you are comfortable with the risk level. In terms of ladies, touring or local, you may find ny number of bait and switch scammers, etc., etc. check Cowboy Kenny's diary and stick with local and touring ladies of quality. No shortage of delightful and wonderful ladies to choose from. Then, have fun. -
Thanks Backrubman and Amelia. I find the sane thing ... I usually run search and destroy followed by , each finds different things. My workplace uses Mcafee but I've found in the past that lots seems to get past it. I've been using AVG, but it seems to be a bit of a resource hog. I've been thinking of trying avasti. Porthos

Waht is your favorite takeout food?
Athos replied to CristyCurves's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
I love cheese Curds. Probably a favorite snack food. I can remember on long road trips my dad would stop at a cheese factory and get a bag of curd for the trip. Awesome!! A great taste and a great memory of childhood vacations. Today, i love Indian for take away. Porthos -
What are your recommendations for good malware/spyware protection. I usually run malwarebytes and spybot search and destroy. One program doesn't seem to be enough. Porthos

I've encountered this as well. Various malware, and also some browser ad ons, that link to specific words in websites you are looking at. Very annoying. Sometimes the ad ons are hidden in software updates. Porthos

How did you decide on your CERB name

Always loved the Three Musketeers ... Porthos is jovial, carefree, a lover of wine, women, and song. Comic relief and larger than life! Porthos -
Fishing in another man's pond.
Athos replied to castle's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
I'd agree with backrubman .... At least No judgement on my part. More just caution. I know a number of married women who I find extremely attractive and would love an opportunity for some no strings attached fun with. But the risks are too high ... And that's why I adore the lovely ladies of CERB. Porthos -
I agree with many of your points Backrubman. Damage calculations are always tricky, but trademark infringements don't necessarily depend on demonstrating damage. Ultimately you want injunctive relief. Yes, lawyers cost money. Sometimes it's wort it. In cases like this, the people doing the stealing are likely not in a position where they want to hire lawyers to defend themselves against a claim. A threatening letter from a lawyer might just do the trick. Starting out with that isn't very expensive, and doesn't necessarily commit you to going all the way down the road. But you do need to think about whether you're prepared to travel the road. Very much an individual choice and personal assessment, especially given the nature of the business. Porthos

George Lucas strikes back. At last a believable explanation for the prequels. Apologies if this has already been posted

Legal action is definitely the way to go. Lawyers letters to the people doing the copying, but more importantly, to the hosting site/Internet service provider. You need to think of this as copywright/trademark infringement. If I were to copy a McDonald's ad word for word, jingle and everything, but just substitute Burger King for McDonald's in the copy, I'd have my ass sued off. This is the same sort of thing ... A passing off and an effort to mislead/confuse consumers. And just because the business is a little "off the grid" in terms of what most commercial lawyers will see, doesn't change the nature of the issue. In the same way your accountant doesn't care, (business revenue, expenses, and taxes are the same regardless), so the lawyer won't either. Short of that, track them down and put their heads on pikes, Game of Thrones style!!! Porthos

Fishing in someone else's pond is a dangerous game. To mix metaphors, if you play with fire be prepared to get burned. -

When a lady declines your request(s)...
Athos replied to Gabriella Laurence's topic in New to this? Things you should know...
Sadly I fear you are quite right. I'm frequently amazed at how self-delusional people can be. Sometimes it seems impossible to believe that it is not willful blindness. But, powers of rationalization and self-deception can be very great. And blaming others is always easier than taking a long hard look at yourself. And even more unfortunately, blaming women has been a centuries old tradition for some men. I continue to hope we are moving past that. Porthos- 19 replies

Agree completely, and I suspect that if you're getting turned down a lot, probably a few minutes of self-reflection will probably reveal the reason why! Porthos- 19 replies

How many dances do you normally get?
Athos replied to gizup's topic in Ottawa Discussion - Stripclubs & Dancers
I rarely go to strip clubs anymore. Too much temptation. But my god I do love them. When I do go, however, (and this might be once a year) I go prepared to indulge like the kid in the candy store. So in that case I'll settle in, and likely get dances from several girls. If nothing clicks with one I'll only get a couple of dances. If I'm enjoying myself, I might get 6-8 dances (maximum is 10). Depends on how much money I have. When I do this I typically might take upwards of 800.00 - 1000.00 with me for the night. If I leave with anything I consider myself to have a windfall! But, like I said, this is a very rare occurrence. In fact, it's probably been 3 years since I've been in a club. Porthos
