Grocery shopping. Yep, you read that right. With the long weekend ahead, i got a few items i needed to try a few new recipes for an event in a month. Call it a dry run.....

A boss that tries to get a professional opinion at the very last second on a subject i know little about in a last ditch effort to save his skin, strangely admitting they forgot to ask before...

As "new age" as my answer will sound like, i don't tend to "pick up on" what someone looks like physically anymore, at least not in the same way i used to as 20 years ago. Its what seeps through, the less tangible if you will (i.e. confidence, elegance, intelligence, a sense of quick wit, humour, sincerity, etc ...) in a way, that will come through to me in the form of a smile, the way someone carries themselves etc .... And as the saying goes .... The eyes are the mirror of the soul ....

Getting a Martini Shaker from a colleague who had too many of them. Now i need proper glasses... I see where this is going .... Making drinks on top of baking....

I'm bumping this thread back up (as a reminder), as i've recently stumbled on a location being shared, with part of the information going "public". As clients, this is not our information to share with anyone, for any reason.

Let me be more blunt than in my previous post.... What is the purpose of prompting ladies in breaking what is comsidered sacrosanct in this industry? I'm talking about DISCRETION !

While it can be flattering for some, for others, being part of public thread of "hobbyist recommendation", may not be so enchanting ... especially if written without prior consent (same principle as some of us use before posting a reco, we vet it with the lady), even if the handle is changed or story changed. While we may write recos (good for business and guidance for potential clients), we generally expect the ladies to use discretion in return about our encounters. There is a thread that got started yesterday on this very topic. I am not saying this can't or should not be done, i am saying though, that care should be exercised.

Well i'm glad you'll be at this edition of the social. I'll be more than happy to trade ya a handshake for a cookie, but only the ladies will get a hug out of me!!

I'll try to play devil's advocate a little bit here .... provide some further food for thought (hopefully) and re-enforce some of the posts that were made. While in principle the idea of having a "good client list" COULD sound like a good idea (ease of access for the ladies on whom the good guys are), there could be potential ... questions or issues. As a client, i do write recommendations (not reviews) ... and I certainly do not "rate" the ladies i have seen and i would certainly not like to be "rated" or "reviewed" either, as a client. Every encounter is unique in the moment it happens. Whilst i have written recommendations, i strive to be discrete about the encounter and i expect the same in return. When and if references are required, these remain in a private communication from someone i'd trust to provide it, as i do not want details of the time i spend with ladies unduly circulated in any public way. Recommendations we provide can certainly help the ladies business, and help in guiding others in finding what they are looking for, i'm all for that. But as a counterpoint, would me being "recommended" - and i make the distinction here from references- as a client in some way, shape or form on a forum create an expectation if i ever want to meet someone i hadn't seen before? If any positive is being said in a private area, what would be said? (i.e. the reco threads we do as clients being public). Anywho, while we all try to make this a safe place for everyone involved, especially for the ladies, regardless of their business model or affiliation in the business, i hope i've conveyed some of my thoughts properly ....

I have just re-read the thread a bit more. Page 5 has some great questions, and insights from MOD (post number 46 to 50 inclusively).

I remember reading something on it. There is an older thread on the topic, with some good posts (i've read it quickly). I'm not saying i am for or against the idea at this time. References can also be very useful ....

Haha!! Must have forgot my baking income. Do they take payment in hugs and kisses?? After years of living in what we call in Ottawa "across the river" and being asked to "drop them and take a deep breath" during tax season, i moved where its better :-p Good plan, i'll join you in that plan!!

Yesterday's highlight: I did my taxes yesterday evening. Why a highlight (i usually would rather stab myself in the leg)? First year i don't have to pay ....

Done, now that i have received the Official Assent of Approval :icon_razz: Hugs are just fine a payment ;-) ;-) They are personally packaged and handed by your friendly neibhourhood baker ...
