  1. Just spent a couple of hours over dinner helping a friend getting ready for a job interview.
  2. 6 more working days before i change jobs, still got a ton of work to complete, on top of meetings and training my replacement that arrives tomorrow (so we spent 6 days "together" on top of my workload), just to have management hand me more stuff to do as "i'm the only one who can do it" ... 2 days in a row. Mmmmm sometimes i wonder .....

    La prostituée

    I have to agree ....
  4. Last week's highlight, actually, which continues a tad this week.... A good friend of mine referred me to a great mechanic who gave me an honest opinion about getting my car up to par to Ontario's standards (moving from Quebec ...). Turns out there is too much money to put in the car for me to either keep it (and plate it in Ontario) or sell it (its not worth much as it turns out). Plus, i can walk everywhere, including to work. So, this week, my rust-bucket, money-pit of a car is getting donated to the Kidney Foundation, where they will try to fix it and sell it, or trash it (and-or recycle the parts). For those interested, they arrange for the pick-up (they take care of trucks, cars or boats), and they issue a tax credit receipt regardless of what they do with it.
  5. Happy Birthday Old Dog!!!! Enjoy a well deserved special day!!!
  6. Fantastic Picture! Love the play on light ....
  7. I have met Maya about 8 months ago as part of an MA duo but never had the chance to see her solo, but never had the chance before. She recently being active again on the board as she returned at Angel's Touch, and kept popping in chat for the past few days, so we started getting re-acquainted, and decided it was time to meet her. Once at the Spa, it felt like we had just each other yesterday. As a greek goddess, Maya is sure to put you at ease with her easy going nature, soft touch and great personality. Maya is certainly worth knowing... and meeting.
  8. Following Emily's post, i wanted to add information and resources on the Québec side (Charlotte covered the Montreal resources in this thread, so i am adding info for the Gatineau side). The Hull CLSC offers the service. Contact information in French and English. The service is offered by appointment, and the staff is very professional. Still on the Québec side, the only private clinic i know that offers the service is Arrimage Santé.
  9. A great big hug for you today, Angela!
  10. On a boat. Sail Boat or cruise ship?
  11. Dark chocolate Rasberries or strawberries?
  12. I like Pheadrus for his insightful, well written posts.
  13. I've been on both coast many times, skipped through the prairies, but i always go back to either Ottawa, Montreal or Québec City as places to live in. Ottawa, while some may find boring, is great for cycling, skying, and is not that far from Montreal. I find it's a pretty green city (lots of parks in the middle of downtown, the Canal etc ...) Montréal is indeed great for it's diversity among other things, i dont think i'd ever be bored, and no need for a car while on the island. Québec City is great for the history (Old Québec City and it's winding streets and colonial buildings ....)
  14. This reminds me i havent made bread in ages .... I have made both from scratch and from bread machines. Bread machines are great as you can pretty much "set and forget". I have to agree that the smell of bread rising and baking is great. Making bread "by hand", you have to let it rise, "punch it" and let it rise again (if using yeast). Some bread recipes use baking soda and buttermilk instead of yeast. In short, those two ingredients react to make the bread rise while baking, leaving out the use of yeast. Irish Brown Bread would be an example. Or this white bread recipe. Oh, and great link, JoyfulC. It's now part of my bookmarks!!
  15. LOL, i know, which is why i mentioned it may not help. But it was worth mentioning here at least, as i just discovered that function. Remembering to do it is another thing entirely, i agree.
  16. Might not help if the owner of the group left, but i saw a "Transfer To" function in the group i have.
  17. The new features are interesting. I updated mine, CERB's Cooking, Cookie and Baking Emporium. I'll be adding more as i go along.
