A little bit of pre-research. Mind you, aside from meeting Miss Jane very briefly at the social last week, i havent met anyone yet personally: I've heard great (and consistent) good things about Empress and Tarah, two that tour Ottawa fairly regularly. Also, your very own local Miss Jane TG. I'm not sure if they head to Ottawa, but Lucy Bisset (based in Toronto) and Shyla Wyld (Montreal based i think). It'll be relative as to wether you want to "top" or be "bottomed". I'm sure you'll be able to take things a tad further with this info. Oh, and also, Montreal would be a good city to further your search if its an option; there are a few TS spas (3 that i know of) and some local ladies (Alasia).

Somewhat Newbie Questions
Mister T replied to fr33yay0's topic in New to this? Things you should know...
You've had great advice here, especially from Berlin. But perhaps i can add a very pointed comment (can't speak about dealing with agencies as i never have) ... .... you used independent certified SP, which only means that they have access to the verified independent area of this site. I've met Indies that are "verified" and those that are "general members" and had a great time with both, but i'm sure you meant indies in general! And too, as Midnite implies, research, research, research. And it pays to communicate beforehand a bit (an intro email could do most of that too). Hope this helps you. -
Client recommendations?
Mister T replied to Tempted Monk's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
The idea has been brought up several time before here: https://www.lyla.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=126558 and here: http://www.lyla.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=8728&highlight=reviewing+client Privacy, discretion and confidentiality were often brought up against. Addendum; References and it's alternatives (when offered for new clients to the business), is an option. -
Baking spree. First in ages. Bit of a zen moment.

I feel the same way on first meetings. Though i always booked quickly afterwards if it worked well for the both of us. Though tipping isn't expected but nice with independents, an extra gesture works well for me (homemade gifts, gift cards and the like once i get to know the person more) and is usually well received as well. On an added note, someone once said (can't remember whom right this minute) on another thread that while tipping isn't expected, repeat visits works as well to show appreciation of one's time spent.

No recent recos doesn't mean anything, lets not assume the worst. Not everyone likes to post recommendations. Besides, there's a typo in her handle... Her reco thread is here: http://www.lyla.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=90481&highlight=sheila Up until she started with ALO, she's been quiet on the Board, but has been around for a few years.

I found a variation of my trusty mile-high apple pie. Pie crust is overated anyway:

Licensed-what does it mean?
Mister T replied to Jabba's topic in General Discussion Area - all of Canada
Its a city business licence. It means taxes for the city. -
I gather the tipping thread didn't yield results to your question? As Cristy mentions, 20$ tip is shortchanging you IMO for a half hour overtime, and i'd agree a full amount for the half hour should have been covered - i've done so when going overtime on dates; example covering the balance between 60 and 90 minutes rates. As for spas, tipping is usually standardized (most spas i know in Ottawa and Montreal) if there isn't an all inclusive rate (CMJ in Ottawa). Best practice when dealing with spas is to ask as it varies.

Montreal's large (lots of spots on Montreal's island) but you cant go wrong being in the downtown core, depending of what you mean by "hot spots". There are great indys as well as agencies. Indycompanion.com is a good site of a collective of independent ladies, and the following thread is still relevant in listing the agencies (and should get you started) http://www.lyla.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=163662 GoodGirls/girls 4 u is an agency you might want to look into, but not exclusively relative to what you are looking for. A few indies too.

The cause doesn't suck, but the result does; It's a bright sun morning catching my windows right now, but its causing me to sneeze like crazy this morning (eyes are light sensitive)

Note to self, don't forget gym socks. Blistered feet, they suck.

Nom! Haven't had mac and cheese in ages. In fact, i had this variation a few months ago at a local restaurant: But for me tonight i've got chicken breast marinating for the rest of the day in buttermilk, herbs and spices (oven baked later).

Texas inspired, veal shepherd's pie.

I'm a Habs fan, even when living in Ottawa. There is one bar i know i won't get drunk during the playoffs; free beer during the Leaf's playoff games.

Not sure it sucks that much (yet) ... but I think my cat will hate me this summer. Was browsing the interweb and just found out that the major festivals in Montreal are now recruiting; Between work, the gym, and spending time at the festivals wether i'd work there or not (being minutes away walking distance from the major sites) i won't be home much. Nor sleep much for that matter.

It's the little things making it larger than the sums of the parts (and its not over); -A great morning filled with chuckles with a lady friend i hadn't seen in a while; -Taking a break from the gym to recover from a week's training; -Nice weather to be out; -Going out to a spice shop i know to Re-suply my kitchen cabinets with spices and herbs -Visiting, after too long, the Atwater Market and got hot sauces; -Later tonight, out to get a hot coco at Cacao 70.

Stumbled on this by chance while opening the TV: An interview -in french- with a CLES (Concertation des Luttes contre l'Exploitation Sexuelle) representative in Montreal, an organisation trying to help workers getting out of sex work in Montreal. http://matv.ca/montreal/mes-emissions/montrealite/videos

True. That dates back to fall (ish) 2013 when mayor Coderre (when he won the Office if i remember) wanted to cake down on it (here for a list of articles on it, including this one http://www.lyla.com/vbulletin/search.php?searchid=4587102), somewhat backed by Maria Mourani, an independent Federal MP at the time. I seem to remember reading an article that Coderre backed down quickly after considering the impacts of doing so -Can't find it though.
